2 WHO WHEN FEES WHAT TO BRING REQUIRED DOCUMENTS ACTIVITIES All New Cub Scouts, Returning Cub Scouts, Parents, and Siblings. October 13-14, 2018 Saukenauk Scout Reservation October 20-21, 2018 Camp Eastman Registration from 8:00 am to 9:00 am FREE for New Cub Scouts (Fall 2018) $20.00 for Adults & Returning Scouts. Includes Lunch and Dinner on Saturday, Sunday Breakfast, and a patch. Late Fee of $8.00 if paid after 10/5 (SSR) or 10/12 (CE) Personal camping gear and equipment Suggested Packing List attached. Parts A&B of the BSA Health Form. Optional: T-Shirt to screen print or purchase a shirt at the event. Medical Form must be present on campgrounds. Roster of Scouts in Camp to be submitted upon arrival. s are required. Activities are geared to give youth an introduction to Scouting. The festivities will culminate with the Big Race in the afternoon. 4 Camp Rules and Regulations Camp Code Early Arrivals Roster Ground Fires Generators Cooking Fuel Pressurized Fuels Use of Water Tent Ditching Garbage Tobacco Dress Code Early Departures Prohibited The Scout Oath and Law will be the law of the camp. Those persons who are not on Staff that arrive prior to 8:00 AM Saturday will be asked to wait to set up camp. The Unit Roster form, enclosed in this manual or equivalent, must be completed and turned in at Check-In. Please make additional copies as needed. Ground Fires are permitted. Please try your best to keep them within fire pits. Generators are not allowed for unit use. Electricity may be available upon request for medical purposes. Use wood, charcoal, or pressurized fuel in preparation of meals. The use of either high or low-pressure lanterns or stoves must be in accordance with current council policy. Water sources are only for filling water containers. Please do not use the spigot for personal hygiene, washing or rinsing dishes, or washing clothes. Proper pitching avoids ditching. Digging ditches around tents is strictly prohibited. Each unit must take their trash home with them when they leave. No person under the age of 18 is allowed to use tobacco products. Violators will be asked to leave. All adult smokers are encouraged to refrain from smoking around the Scouts during the weekend. Please wear the Field Uniform. Field (Class A) or Activity (Class B) uniforms are encouraged throughout the duration of the campout. No inappropriate civilian clothes are permitted. Closed toed shoes must be worn around camp for safety. Units needing an early departure on Sunday should make prior arrangements with the Campmaster or District Camping Chairman. Alcohol, fireworks, firearms, and non-medically prescribed drugs are all strictly prohibited Cubanapolis Page 4
5 Suggested Packing List This list is provided as a simple guideline to plan what you will need for a typical weekend camping trip. We recommend packing your items in a backpack or duffle bag. Clothing and personal property should be permanently marked with your name and unit. Medications should be clearly marked with Scout s name, medication name, dosage. 12 Directions to Saukenauk Scout Reservation 2948 E 1000 th St Mendon, IL (217) Saukenauk Scout Reservation is located at the Adams/Hancock County Border. From the north, follow IL 96 south to County Road 2450 just south of Lima. Turn left and head East on County Road 2800 N for 2.2 miles. Turn left at the sign onto the gravel County Road 1050 E which turns into County Road 3000 N. The first Entrance is the Jambo side entrance. Continue following the road toward the main entrance and turn left into the property. At the large Thunderbird totem, turn right. From the south, follow IL 96 north out of Quincy. Turn right and head East on County Road 2800 N for 2.2 miles. Turn left at the sign onto the gravel County Road 1050 E which turns into County Road 3000 N. 13 Directions to Camp Eastman 750 E. County Rd Nauvoo, IL62354 (217) Camp Eastman is located just off IL 96 (The River Road), 6.5 miles south of Nauvoo, IL or 4.5 miles north of Hamilton, IL. From the north, follow IL 96 (The River Road) south out of Niota five miles to Connable Road on the left. Follow Connable Road south to 1800N. Turn right and follow the road to Camp Eastman. From the south, follow IL 96 (The River Road) north out of Hamilton 4.5 miles to CR 29. Turn right and follow around to Camp Eastman Cubanapolis Page 13
