1 Information Location: The location of the is Hartness International s Triple Tree Aerodrome, off of Mary Hanna Road, just outside of Woodruff, SC. The camping area is at the back of the Hartness property. See attached map. It will seem like a long drive to the check-in point, approximately 1 mile after you pass the front gate, but the site is worth the drive. Check-in will be through a series of stations. A car or truck pulling a trailer will be allowed to remain in the camping area. All other vehicles will be allowed to drop off equipment and move farther down the tree line. Any additional vehicle that needs to be left in the camp site to support special needs (like cpac equipment) will require approval prior to the START of the weekend; use the special circumstances section on the registration form. Our greeters will meet you as you enter the campground to collect the registration form and any payment due at that point. Arrival & Check-In: Location: - Triple Tree Aerodrome, Woodruff Website: (Directions are found in the top menu bar) (or below in this document) Date: October 14, 2011 Check in (start time): 5:30 PM Location: Entrance to Hartness International complex Registration: Use the attached pre-registration form. Please bring a completed/revised copy of the form and a receipt that shows any amount paid at the Scout Service Center with preregistration. Please bring a check made out to BSA if you have not pre-registered all who are attending. We will be collecting completed/revised forms and checks at the parking lot before you proceed to the camping area. Please be sure that you have medical release / permission slips for each scout attending. Items required at Check in: o Signed Tour Plan o Pre-registration form and Receipt of Registration fees paid o Permission forms for scouts and adults attending o Medical forms of scouts and scouters attending and a troop First Aid Kit Camporee Fee: The Camporee fee, required of all scouts and adults attending, is $10. 1 of 9

2 Parking: Parking will be on the OTHER side of (beyond) the camp sites. You will be able to drive past your camp site and drop you gear. As noted earlier, only one vehicle will be permitted to remain in your campsite. Please plan to bring as few vehicles as possible. Scoutmaster/SPL Meeting: An informational meeting and cracker barrel will be held in the Registration area Friday evening at 9:00PM for the Scoutmaster and SPL from each troop. Campsite Set-Up / Maintenance / Dismantling: We will guide you to your campsite. All campsites will be of the same size. We will be camping in a large open field area, along the tree line, so all will be of equal quality. Each Troop is responsible for the condition of its campsite. All Units are expected to observe proper camping procedures in compliance with the OUTDOOR CODE and good camping policies. Please demonstrate LNT as much as you can. Campsites may be dismantled after the Church service on Sunday. Your troop is responsible for removing all trash, garbage, etc., from the campsite upon departure. Please leave your campsite in better condition than when you arrived if possible. There are no open fires permitted. All cooking is to be done over gas fires or above ground fires. Each camp site is to have two (2) water jugs for fire prevention. Cooking/Fires/Firewood: o No ground fires are permitted o All cooking must be done under the supervision of an adult Scouter. o All fueled lanterns must be kept away from and out of tents. (please see Campsite Set-Up / Maintenance / Dismantling for fire safety) Water: Water is available at the cement building that contains the water pipes. However, it may be very prudent to arrive with your own water jugs filled to start the weekend activities Electronics, Generators, etc.: No electronics, generators, etc., are allowed in the campsites. Meals: Troops are responsible for all their own meals. Camp Safety/First Aid: Regular BSA camping safety guidelines apply. Each Troop should have their own First Aid Kit; however, a First Aid Area will be located at Camporee HQ... All medical emergencies must to be reported to the Registration/First Aid area. Uniform of the Day: Field Dress uniform (some refer to them as Class A ) is required for, or expected, at arrival, departure, evening formations and Sunday worship service. Activity uniforms are expected (some refer to them as Class B ) during the Camporee activities. 2 of 9

3 Sunday Worship Service: A Scouts Own Service will be conducted on Sunday morning for all troops who wish to attend. Details will be provided at Scoutmaster/SPL meeting Friday evening. Camporee Activities: Units will be participating in patrol type activities, most which will require 6 scouts per event during the day on Saturday. Scouts should bring a water bottle and small personal 1 st Aid Kit, as usual on any scout outing. Discipline: Troop leaders have the ultimate responsibility for their own scouts behavior. Please insure that scouts have adequate supervision and that patrols have adult supervision with them at all times during the day. Please respect Lights Out times. Alcoholic Beverages, Tobacco & Drugs: Alcoholic beverages of any type will NOT be permitted on Camporee premises. No Scout, Scouter or accompanying adult, registered or not, shall be under the influence of alcohol or drugs during the Camporee. BSA policy disallows smoking or chewing tobacco in the presence of Scouts while in uniform. Adults are to refrain from smoking in the presence of youth. We request that this be self-imposed. All Scouters are responsible for maintaining accountability of their scouts at all times. Knives, Firearms, etc.: All knives must be of the folding type. All Boy Scouts carrying knives should have their Totin Chip Card. Any knives being used in a careless or dangerous manner will be confiscated and given to the scout s Troop leadership. Firearms, Fireworks, Sheath Knives are strictly prohibited. Port-A-Potty s: Available on site. Instruct you scouts in proper use. Please explain to the scouts what the funnel on the left side is for. Trash: All units are responsible for removing all of their own trash. Checkout: Before leaving the Camporee property, please see one of our staff to check your campsite for the OK to leave. This will be required before your patches will be issued. Pre-Camporee Preparations: To ensure a complete weekend of activities that everyone can enjoy, Troop 715 would like for your units to come prepared to have fun during this weekend event. We are not asking anyone to supply any individuals or material for the day s events. However, to ensure that there is a variety of scouting fun for the campfire, we are requesting that you make special preparations for the following: 3 of 9

4 o Monitor your scouts during the Saturday evening time period during dinner prep and prep for the camp fire. o In keeping with our theme you may prepare a gateway for your campsite if you desire. They are not required, nor will they be judged. o Please have your scouts prepare ONE SKIT for the campfire. Please make sure that the skits are Scout Appropriate. The Campfire Coordinator will ask for the titles during the check in process. Troop 715 is looking forward to hosting your troop at the 2011 Southbounder District s Fall Camporee. Continue to follow US Miles 4 - Turn SLIGHT RIGHT onto MARY HANNA RD. This turn takes you up a small hill and over the RR Tracks..5 Miles 5 - Turn left in to Triple Tree at Main Gate. Directions: From the Scout office 1 Take Butler Road to Woodruff Road. 2 Turn right on Woodruff Road and follow Woodruff until it turns into Route Follow Route 146 to Route Turn RIGHT onto SC-101 / SC-146 (5 miles) 5 Turn RIGHT onto N MAIN ST / US-221 / SC-101 / SC-146. Continue to follow US-221.South (6 Miles) 6 Turn SLIGHT RIGHT onto MARY HANNA RD. This turn takes you up a small hill and over the RR Tracks.
