4 Welcome Message from the Minister for Innovation and Tourism Industry Development, The Hon Kate Jones MP Welcome to the International Conference on Robotics and Automation ICRA This year the Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre will host professionals, academics and specialists in the robotics field from across the globe. ICRA 2018 is the IEEE Robotics and Automation Society flagship conference. This annual event is the premier international forum for robotics where researchers can present their work and delegates will be at the forefront of science and technology in robotics and automation. The event will highlight Brisbane as a premier business event destination and visitors can enjoy our vibrant city, relaxed urban outdoor lifestyle, world-class events and culture, and nature right on our doorstep. You can also download the app by visiting this address Car Parking The Convention Centre s undercover car park can be accessed from Merivale or Grey Street and is a maximum of AUD26 per day. The car park is open 24 hours a day with onsite security. Catering For Tuesday through Thursday, all morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea breaks will be provided in the ICRA2018 Exhibition. Catering on Monday and Friday will be provided in the foyer space outside the various workshop and tutorial rooms. For break times please refer to the program. Certificate of Attendance A certificate of attendance will be sent to each delegate after the Conference, via . Cloak Room A cloakroom is located at the Customer Service Desk located in the Foyer of the Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre, providing storage for visitors and delegates belongings. Luggage storage facilities will not be provided. Dietary requirements If you have advised the Conference Secretariat of special dietary requirements, your catering will be available at a designated table. Please speak to a member of catering staff at the commencement of each meal break / social function. 8 9

6 General Information Dress Code The Conference dress code is smart casual. Emergency details In an emergency telephone 000 for Ambulance, Fire Service or Police. For non-emergency medical situations call for an ambulance. Exhibition The exhibition will be held in Exhibition Hall 1 & 2 which can be accessed by the foyer level, and will be open at the following times; Monday 21 May 6:00pm 8:00pm Tuesday 22 May 8:30am 6:00pm Wednesday 23 May 8:30am 6:00pm Thursday 24 May 8:30am 6:00pm Interactive presentations For two sessions each day you get to meet the authors and discuss their work. You can view their posters, clarify things on the whiteboard, and watch videos or supplementary material on the presenter s laptop. Interactions occur around 22 specially designed pods (labelled A to V) that are generously spaced in the righthand section of the exhibition hall, and easy to navigate. Each pod presents 8 papers (labelled 1 to 8) and is a session. Media A media room is located on the Mezzanine level in M10. Medical assistance St John s Ambulance will be available on site during ICRA2018 to assist delegates with any medical needs. If you require medical assistance please go to the registration desk in the first instance. In an emergency people notify a member of staff or security. Mobile phones Australia operates on a 3G and 4G/LTE digital network. Delegates are asked to switch off their mobile phones or set them to silent when attending sessions. Name Badges and Lanyards For security purposes, delegates, speakers, exhibitors and staff are required to wear their name badge to all sessions, the exhibition and social functions. Entrance into sessions is restricted to registered delegates only. If you misplace your name badge please see staff at the registration desk to arrange a replacement. Sponsored by Program Most of ICRA occurs on the Foyer Level. Plenaries, keynote 1, award talks and the award lunch will all be held in the Great Hall. The Interactive Sessions, Robot Challenges and Exhibition are all held next door in exhibition halls 1 and 2. Keynotes 1 and 2, forums, spotlight viewing, workshops and tutorials are all held on the Mezzanine and Plaza Levels. The Great Hall can be accessed from Foyer or Mezzanine levels. 7 General Information Robot Challenges Robot challenges will take place within the ICRA2018 Exhibition Hall on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Please visit the Challenge arenas for the individual challenge schedules. Security Please ensure that you take all items of value with you at all times when leaving a room. ICRA2018 Volunteers Over 80 volunteers are available to assist you during ICRA2018. These people can be identified by their Orange shirts.
