Since 2000, Mystery Ranch has been designing and manufacturing packs and lad carriage systems fr military, hunting, wildland fire and muntaineering custmers, with a fcus n use-specific designs and hand-built quality. Based in Bzeman, Mntana, Mystery Ranch is a glbal brand with wrldwide prductin and distributin. Histry In 1985, Dana Gleasn and Renée Sippel-Baker funded Dana Design, the backpack cmpany that wuld becme recgnized as the industry standard in lad carriage technlgy. Dana's ArcFlex internal frame was the first pack system that integrated different kinds f materials t maximize the benefits f each fr mre effective lad transfer. By the early 90's, Dana Design was the pack t wn and the name became synnymus with cmfrt and quality. Prmpted by the need fr capital t expand int wider markets and manage a grwing cmpany, Dana and Renée accepted an ffer t sell Dana Design t the K2 Crpratin in After a few years f what they thught wuld be a skiing- and backpacking-filled early retirement, bth Dana and Renée realized they still wanted t be in the business. When Dana's daughter, Alice, asked him t design hera new hip sack, he went back t the design rm and fund there were still sme great packs that needed t be built. Dana and Renée funded Mystery Ranch in 2000; they were fficially back in the pack business. The hip sack Dana built fr Alice was the beginning f what wuld becme Mystery Ranch s patented Lumbar Wrap, and the designs fr the NICE frame and SATL wuld sn fllw. Thugh firmly entrenched in utdr retail, Dana was apprached by the Navy SEALs fr custm packs in 2003, and Mystery Ranch began a relatinship with the military that wuld significantly alter its business mdel and design strategy.
