3 REQUIRED FORMS Camp Dc Within 3 days f registering, yu will receive an frm CampDc with a secure username as well as instructins n hw t access their system and cmplete yur child's health and medicatin infrmatin. Camper infrmatin must be cmpleted 2 weeks after registering fr camp. Please nte: A physician signed physical exam frm is nt required fr campers in Camper Agreement Frm This dcument is lcated at Yu will be able t view and dwnlad the GSNETX behavir plicy/camper agreement. Please be sure t discuss all items n this dcument with yur camper, s she is aware f her expected cnduct while at camp. Once yu have reviewed the plicy with yur camper, yu will then initial each bx t acknwledge agreement. Bring the fllwing frms with yu t check-in fr camp... Camper Release Frm turn this frm in at check-in (when parent/guardian drps Camper ff at the Bus r at camp). Yur Camper will be released n departure day ONLY t the persn(s) listed n this frm with matching driver s license number. Any changes made after turning in the frm must be handled thrugh the Camp Directr. We require a separate Camper Release Frm fr each sessin which yur Camper attends. Medicatins This frm will be filled ut nline at Yu will then print the frm and turn it in at check-in (when parent/guardian drps Camper ff at the Bus r at camp). Medicatins must be clearly marked with Camper s name and in riginal prescriptin cntainer. Place frm and medicatin in a zip lck bag with Camper s name. 4 BUS CHECK-IN INFORMATION Fr sme Campers, the transitin frm hme t camp begins with the bus ride. This is a GREAT time fr yur daughter t begin her camp experience. She can meet new friends, learn camp sngs, and get t knw the camp staff! Check-In fr Bus Departure t Camp: Please nte that the bus will depart at the time listed. The bus will nt be held fr parents/guardians t g pick-up frgtten items. Bus check-in will begin at 11:00 a.m. Campers must arrive n later than 12:00 p.m. Buses will depart the JAnn Fgg Service Center prmptly at 1:00 p.m. Please make sure yur Camper has eaten befre checking in OR yu may send a snack/drink with them fr the bus ride. Dining Hall meals are typically served at 8:00 a.m., 12:15 p.m., and 6:30 p.m. Upn arrival at JAnn Fgg Service Center, yu ll be asked t: Park and unlad luggage in designated areas. Luggage may be left utside fr lading nt the bus. Check-In with Camp Staff t review yur daughter s medicatins and Medicatin Frm, and Camper Release Frm. Leave mail r packages in prvided mail bins. BUS CHECK-OUT INFORMATION Check-Out fr Bus Departure frm Camp: Buses will arrive n either Tuesday, Wednesday, r Friday at the JAnn Fgg Service Center frm Camp between 4:00-5:00 p.m. Traffic / weather may impact the bus arrival times. Girls will be released frm the bus t the designated adult(s) specified n their Camper Release Frm. Adults must shw a driver s license and be listed n the Camper Release frm t pick up their Camper. Adults picking up Campers must arrive by 4:30 p.m.! 4

Bus Pick Up/Drp Off Lcatin: JAnn Fgg Service Center, GSNETX Headquarters 6001 Summerside Drive, Dallas GSNETX will be using Wynne MtrCaches, LLC as ur bus transprtatin prvider again this summer. A typical Wynne bus is seen t the left. BUS TRANSPORTATON RULES D nt d anything which distracts the driver s attentin. Remain seated until the bus stps. Wear yur seat belt if available. Keep feet and articles ut f the aisles. Never thrw bjects. Keep head and arms inside the bus. Help keep the bus clean. Be quiet when crssing railrad tracks. Leave mail r packages in prvided mail bins. Yur Camper will underg a head, ft, and temperature check. We have a strict N Nit plicy at camp. If yur daughter is fund with Lice OR Nits, she will immediately be sent hme. There are n exceptins! She may return t camp in 24 hurs upn successful cmpletin f a Lice Treatment and cmplete Nit remval, where she will be rechecked befre being admitted t camp. Temperature Check: Campers with a temperature f 100* r higher will nt be allwed t attend camp. Check-in with the Health Supervisr t: Turn in ALL medicatins and Medicatins Frm. Review Camper Release frm Campers wh have mutually requested each ther as buddies n their CampDc frms will be placed tgether whenever pssible. Final placement is at the discretin f the Camp Directr. CAMP CHECK-OUT TIMES If yu are picking up yur Camper at Camp: Camp Check-Out is between 3:00 and 3:30 p.m. Yu will be asked t stp at a designated pint and the authrized pick-up persn(s) will be asked t present their driver s license which matches the infrmatin prvided n the Camper Release frm at camp check-in. Once cnfirmed, yu will be prvided directins n where t g t pick up yur camper. In an effrt t prmte self-reliance, each girl at camp packs up her wn belngings prir t mving them t the designated pick-up area. Our cunselrs will prvide encuragement during the prcess and assistance as needed. FOOD In an effrt t satisfy the appetites f campers, a variety f fd is prvided. Our prfessinal kitchen staff wrks hard t prvide dining hall meals that are reviewed by a dietician, nutritinally balanced, and preferred by campers. Water is served first at all meals t encurage hydratin befre ther beverages. Milk and cereal are prvided at every breakfast and a full salad bar is available with lunch and dinner. Girls attending a week lng sessin will ck utdrs at least nce during the week (weather permitting). DIETARY RESTRICTIONS The kitchen staff will d their best t accmmdate special dietary requests such as vegetarian, vegan, diabetic, nut allergies, and gluten free as much as pssible. Hwever, it may nt be pssible t accmmdate all dietary requests such as thse which require strict prcessing r preparatin f fd. If yur camper has special dietary needs that require specific meal planning such as listed abve, yu must cntact the cuncil at least 2 weeks prir t the sessin at camp@gsnetx.rg with an explanatin f yur accmmdatin request. Please als nte these dietary restrictins r requests n yur Camper s Camp Dc Health Frm and infrm the Health Supervisr during the check-in prcess. 11

12 MEDICATIONS It is the camp plicy t cllect all medicatins (including Epi pens and inhalers) at Health Check-In. DO NOT PACK IN BAGGAGE. All medicatins must be: Accmpanied by a Medicatin Frm In the riginal cntainer marked with yur camper s name, medicatin name and dctr s name. Please be sure medicatin has nt expired and will nt expire while at camp. Medicatins must be in riginal cntainers and prescribed specifically fr the camper. The camp will assist campers wh need regular medicatin n a set schedule. Medicatins will nt be dispensed in any manner ther than what is specified n the label withut written instructins frm a physician. Campers that ccasinally need treatment such as medicatin fr a headache, allergies, r lactse intlerance will need t be able t cmmunicate t staff that they need this medicatin r it will nt be given t them. The camp carries ver-the-cunter medicatin such as Tylenl, Ibuprfen, Tums, Benadryl, and cugh drps that parents may authrize the camp t administer n the Medicatin Frm. Please d nt send ver-the-cunter medicatins t camp (except allergy medicatins). Ear drps Campers may be swimming daily. If yur child is prne t ear infectins, it shuld be nted n her Camp Dc Frm. Send the apprpriate prescribed ear drps. Camp prvides an alchl/vinegar ear drp slutin t all campers. Insect Repellent/Sunscreen Resident camp is held in rural areas; insect bites, including msquit, tick, and chigger may be a result f the resident camp experience. Girls will spend the majrity f their time utside and therefre sunscreen is essential. Please send insect repellent and sunscreen, clearly labeled, in a zip lck bag. (Please give t the Camp Cunselrs when yur Camper arrives in their unit.) SICKNESS and INJURY If yur daughter is sick fr mre than 24 hurs, has a fever f 100 degrees r higher, r if an injury r illness prevents her frm participatin in nrmal camp activities yu will be required t pick yur child up immediately. Please list emergency cntact infrmatin and ensure that these individuals are available t pick yur Camper up frm camp if an emergency ccurs. Yu will be cntacted by a designated member f the camp staff if: Yur child runs a fever f 100 degrees r higher fr mre than 4 daytime hurs r vernight frm the time it is first reprted t and dcumented by the camp medical staff. Yur child is injured r becmes ill at camp requiring n site medical attentin which includes a stay in the health ldge lasting lnger than 4 daytime hurs r vernight. Yur child is injured r becmes ill at camp requiring transprt t a medical facility by camp staff r EMS. Yur child menstruates fr the first time while at camp. Yur child is admitted t the health ldge fr treatment r bservatin which invlves a stay f mre than 4 daytime hurs r vernight. A camp medical staff member is cncerned abut an issue yur child is having at camp which may include but is nt limited t: vmiting, digestive cmplaints, etc. Treatment fr reprted illness r injury will be administered in accrdance with the parental permissins prvided n CampDc frms. 12

13 EMERGENCY INFORMATION The Camp Directr and Assistant Camp Directr fr all the camps can be reached 24-hurs a day. Althugh they are nt always near a phne, a message may be left and yur call will be returned. If an emergency r ther situatin arises at r n the way t/frm camp that impacts pick up/drp ff times r lcatin (including the bus) parents/guardians will be ntified by GSNETX. Camp Bette Pert: Camp Gambill: Camp Rcky Pint: TYPICAL WEEK AT CAMP We try t prvide a cmplete and fun-filled day, every day f camp. Every unit fllws a general schedule, such as meals and rest time (als knwn as Turtle Time ). Thse girls that cme t very specific prgrams, such as hrses, high adventure, bating etc., will spend mst f their time ding activities that are specific fr their prgram. All campers will have the pprtunity t swim (barring inclement weather). Daily Activities Camp Bette Pert, Camp Gambill and Camp Rcky Pint, prvide a wide variety f activities. Activities vary by lcatins, but include items such as: swimming, lw and high rpes curse, hiking, arts & crafts, fire building, tiedye, hrseback riding, archery, and bating! IMPORTANT HORSE INFORMATION T participate in hrseback riding, each camper MUST bring lng pants/jeans and bts with a defined heel that will catch in the stirrup. Safety helmets are wrn by all campers and are prvided by the camp. There are bts available fr use at camp if yu d nt have a pair. SWIMMING / WATERFRONT ACTIVITIES All campers are tested by the Pl/Waterfrnt Staff and placed in swimming/waterfrnt activities apprpriate t their ability; the Pl/Waterfrnt Directr has the final decisin in placement. As safety is ur prime cncern, ALL staff strictly adhere t American Red Crss and Girl Scut Safety Activity Checkpint standards. * Fr Camp Rcky Pint & Camp Gambill, girls must bring water shes fr water activities.* 13

14 GIRL SCOUT RECOGNITIONS Several camp units plan their activities arund particular Girl Scut recgnitins. Within their units, campers will be ding varius activities required fr badge wrk cmpletin. A recgnitin sheet will be sent hme with yur Camper that will dcument any recgnitin requirements cmpleted while at camp. These may be purchased at any GSNETX Shp. Campers will als receive (1) camp-specific patch upn cmpletin f their sessin. PHOTOGRAPHY We want campers t phtgraph the camp experience. Please be sure that the campers name is clearly marked n the camera. Camper agrees nt t take pictures which may create privacy issues. Dispsable cameras will be cnfiscated and nt returned if inapprpriate phts are taken. Inapprpriate digital phts will be deleted and the Camp Administratin will return the camera at camp checkut. The camp, camp staff, and GSNETX are nt respnsible fr lst r damaged cameras. VISITORS Visitrs are nt allwed during sessins. Visitrs are distracting t the Campers and ften increase hmesickness, rather than alleviating it. PETS Dmestic animals r pets, ther than service animals, shuld nt be brught t any Girl Scuts f Nrtheast Texas camps at any time, including check-in/ut. PHONE CALLS The camp telephne is fr emergency and business calls nly. We d nt permit direct calls between parents/guardians and Campers due t the large numbers f girls, staff, and the limited accessibility f phnes at camp. In the event yu need t cntact the Camp Directr, the phne numbers are: Camp Bette Pert: Camp Gambill: Camp Rcky Pint: TECHNOLOGY N electrnic devices are permitted at GSNETX camps. These include but are nt limited t ipds, tablets, laptps and ther prtable electrnics. Cell phnes and/r cell watches are nt allwed at camp fr any sessin. They are easily lst r damaged in the camp envirnment, and the camps d nt have receptin fr mst cellular carriers. In additin, cameras n cell phnes can create privacy issues. Cell phnes/watches may interfere with yur camper s ability t build trust, friendships, and independence. If a camper breaks this rule and is fund with a cell phne r electrnic device, it will be held by the Camp Administratin until the end f camp. The camp, camp staff, and GSNETX are nt respnsible fr lst r damaged cell phnes/watches r electrnics. 14

15 HOMESICKNESS Hmesickness is a natural reactin fr anyne away frm hme, especially fr the first time. It is nrmal fr many yungsters t miss hme and family. Please remember that if yu receive mail that yur Camper is hmesick, this letter may have been written during her first 36 hurs at camp. If the prblem persists, the Camp Directr will cntact yu. Camp fees will nt be refunded if a Camper leaves because f hmesickness. Tips t help avid hmesickness: 1. Talk t yur child befre she ges t camp and encurage her t spend the whle night at a friend s huse befre her sessin. 2. Explain that hmesickness is a natural, nrmal feeling. 3. Include yur child in the shpping and packing prcess. LOST and FOUND Each Camper is respnsible fr the care and safekeeping f her belngings. This will be simplified if the Camper knws what she has, and has helped pack it herself. Every item shuld be marked with Camper s name. Girl Scuts f Nrtheast Texas is NOT respnsible fr damage r lss f persnal pssessins. These items will remain at the camp and will return n the bus t be transferred t the JAnn Fgg Service Center (JAFSC) in Dallas fr a secnd week. Any unclaimed items will be held at JAFSC fr nly tw weeks after each camp sessin. Items will be dnated/dispsed f after tw weeks at the JAnn Fgg Service Center. Visit the JAFSC during business hurs t view and r claim lst and fund items. ALCOHOL / DRUGS / FIREARMS / TOBACCO N tbacc, electrnic smking devices, alchlic beverages, firearms, firewrks, abuse f prescriptin drugs, marijuana r narctics are allwed n any Girl Scut prperty r at any Girl Scut activities. 16 CAMPER EXPECTATIONS Per the Camper Agreement the expectatins f each Camper while at camp are as fllws. Camper agrees t abide by the Girl Scut Prmise and Law. She will infrm her Unit Cunselr in the event f an emergency, hmesickness, harassment, bullying, r any ther issues that may arise. While at Girl Scut camp, girls are active members f ur camp cmmunity and are assigned daily chres r kapers. Kapers include but are nt limited t picking up trash, cllecting firewd, setting the table, and cleaning the bathrm. N electrnic devices are permitted at GSNETX camps. These include but are nt limited t ipds, tablets, laptps and ther prtable electrnics. Cell phnes and/r cell watches are nt allwed at camp fr any sessin. They are easily lst r damaged in the camp envirnment, and the camps d nt have receptin fr mst cellular carriers. In additin, cameras n cell phnes can create privacy issues. Cell phnes/watches may interfere with yur camper s ability t build trust, friendships, and independence. Cell phnes/watches/persnal electrnics are nt apprpriate at camp and we agree t leave the cell phne/watch and ther persnal electrnics at hme. If camper breaks these rules and is fund with a cell phne/watch r electrnic device, it will be held by the Camp Administratin until the end f camp. Every effrt will be made t ensure prducts are applied thrughut the day. Hwever, encurage yur daughter t speak t her Camp Cunselrs if she needs mre insect repellant/sunscreen. Sleeping Arrangements? It is Girl Scuts f Nrtheast Texas practice that, while attending ur camp facilities, adult cunselrs sleep in a separate rm/cabin/tent within the same unit as the girls in their grup. Cabin and tent units have a designated cunselr cabin/tent fr adults; girls will sleep in the remaining cabins/tents in that unit. Our ldges have a grup sleeping area fr girls and a separate Cunselr rm fr adults, all within the same building. N adult may sleep alne in a rm, r in the same bed, with a girl. What is the Trading Pst? It is a small shp at each camp where the girls g t chse a snack and drink which is included in the camp fee. They will als chse a fun suvenir during ne Trading Pst visit.
