4 Artwork: HE Therese d Ivoire nto the Noble Barony Bordermarch, HE Santiago & HE Elisabeth, U do send these warm greetings... antiago and I have made the bitter sweet announcement that we will be stepping Sdown at BAM this November It has been five years since we were first invested and what a wonderful experience it has been. The Barony is in good standing, new folks are coming in droves and BAM has grown leaps and bounds. Like with any parent as much as we love being your B&B it s time to let you spread your wings and soar to another height. We have spoken with Their Majesties previously and they have asked that we announce the following: 1) ALL letters of intent, be it a married couple, unmarried couple or single individual will be considered. 2) Candidates need to send their letter to the Crown, and a copy MUST be sent to Kingdom Seneschal as well as to us your present sitting B&B 3) Letters need to be in NO LATER then June 20th, Their Majesties and Their Heirs will review them during Kings College June 21-23, ) All Interviews will be conducted at Kings Round Table July 21, Kingdom is getting BID s now as to where this will be held. 5) All letters will be posted on the Bordermarch web page as well as in the Trumpeter and announcements will be made on the list as we receive them. If we can help with any questions or concerns please feel free to call or come by the house. We look forward to this next chapter in our lives and that of our Barony. Their Majesties have assured us they will take into consideration the tradition of the Barony(B&B being a married couple) as well as the populace poll however Bordermarch is Their land and they will make the ultimate decision for who is best. 6 Bordermarch May Day 2012 Celebration at Rogers Park Contributed by HE Santiago de Monte Verde & HE Elisabeth de Montvert Baron/Baroness Bordermarch ordermarch celebrated the SCA s BMay Day or first event day being May 1st 1966, at Rogers Park. Lots of friends and family attended with a demo provided my many of the fighters as well as a wonderful display of art projects such as black-work, illuminations and calligraphy. There was also information available concerning our local group and the SCA as a whole and lots of good eats brought by many. Our thanks go out to all who attended or just stopped by to say hi and celebrate a wonderful beginning for the society. Special thanks to Lady Raven, Lady Jillian, HE AmberLeah, Countess Mistress Tessa, Lady Padraigin, Lady Catalina, M Lady Khorin, M Lord William, as well as all the fighters both chivalric and rapier who attended the demo and helped the newcomers with their questions and desires to learning a fighting skill. I m sure there were many that provided help behind the scenes as well so again many thanks to all of you as well. Special events like this can t be done without many hands and open hearts. 12 Hospitaler Resigns; Deputy Takes Office Contributed by Lady Angelica Veronica de Granada, Barony Hospitaler I first want to say how these last few months have been so busy for me and I miss seeing everyone. I know I have not been around much but things do happen. It is sad for me to say that I will miss everyone even more. This is going to be my letter of resignation. I will be stepping down as Bordermarch Hospitalers Contribute to Bordermarch Growth Contributed by HE Countess Mistress Tessa of the Gardens, Coastal & Southern Regional Hospitaler of Ansteorra hank you for your term of service, Tdearest Lady Angelica. You will be missed and remembered, and you are wished the very best hopes for yourself and your precious son and daughter. Lady Raven has already begun doing a fine job and has the assistance of at least one if not more helpers since January. At recent fighter practices and even in the guilds, I have noticed how a few of the newer interested folk have jumped right into speak with and give explanations to bystanders who Lady Raven MacLeod are interested enough to ask, as if the newbies themselves were hospitalers. That is such a positive, welcoming approach, and is wholesome for the entire barony. One of the new transplants supplied a beautiful Bordermarch-device-decorated-cake for the May Day; two of the newest also set up their shade pavilion in the park and took a lead in getting plenty of photos of the May Day demo. At fighter practice, the guilds, we have seen the recent participants bring along yet other interested folk! The populace is in a growth spurt indeed. Some are working on their persona devices, others on their armor or garb, others interested in the food Page 12 Hospitaler this month. I will be moving out of the Barony very soon. I will be graduating from school in a couple of weeks and taking a job near Houston. I hate to be leaving, but this is a better thing for me and the kids. I have talked with TE about it and explained that I have to do this now. I again will miss everyone. Thanks for the time that I have had. I will be sending a letter to my Deputy Lady Raven in hopes that she will take over, so as to make this go over smoothly. Vivat! We will miss you greatly but celebrate your strength and determination and taking care of yourself and your children. As your future grows may you grow ever stronger and wiser. Please keep in touch. You will always be apart of the Bordermarch family. Grace, Elisabeth and Santiago Barony Bordermarch preps, and the road trips to other group events have multiplied. Lots of contacts have been traded and are getting connected to the baronial mailing list. Thank you for your endeavors.
