Please understand that I still love doing the Demos, and organizing them, but my current health and outside influences dictate that I cannot do the job as well as it needs to be done. The Demos that we currently have on the schedule for the upcoming year are: YMCA camp: June 28th Canterbury Faire: July 20-21nd or July 27-28th Walker Middle School: May We've been contacted by Abiqua Academy, but no plans have been made. I am willing to help out to keep these demos going since we have committed to them. It is my hope that in the future (hopefully near future) I will be able to resume my passion inside the SCA, but in the meantime, I will simply support the Barony as a loyal subject and Courtier. Social Media Ymanie Pretty uneventful New kingdom and principalty Getting used to new event posting YAFA Duvessa 12th night we had a yafa meeting. One of the main points is creating level 1 project kits for kids and families so that the families are not spending more money than they need to. The sca is an expansive hobby and we need to keep costs very low. So I've ordered the first items for a few different tokens which can be used for level 2 and 3 and some cross tokens. Fundraising is something we need to continue to do. Pretty much every event we should have some sort of fund raiser for yafa. We need teachers and mentors if you'd like to be either please let me know. An tir is still the leading kingdom in tokens achievements and participants. Bar gemels will be busy but we can use the same format as we have used in the past. Last year was far more easier and we had more participants and people didn't feel rushed or left out. If you have time and can please if possible we need some easy to carry game boards like painted fabric to give to kids. Most of the worksheets are being tweaked if you are using them and you run into something that's hard or makes 0 sense let me know. Kingdom now had a library of items that can be loaned out for yafa. We're working on creating a library database. Also the website itself where you log in and do all the things it's not what we really want and it's not user friendly but it's what we've got but we are working on other ways to do this easier. Other stuff I am the new kingdom sable sable deputy of contests and education. There's been requests for calligraphy in terra Pomaria I'm working on getting a date and time but we've got I believe 3 teachers who have volunteered. We may need crash space and it will be happening some Saturday in february. It's mot an sca event so garb not required no site fee just need to bring materials and I'll get that info asap coronet waiting k contracts for the Oregon Christian convention center same price as last time I am mot the event steward just getting the ball rolling 2021 known world fiber symposium working on this we need to assemble a team and then talk to kingdom and submit a bid to society. That's the info I habe so far no one has been awarded crown or coronation 12th night is in adiantum. We do have places we just need to figure out where. I'll help but I can't be the e ent steward. Summits scribal symposium it's been asked we do this type of thing in July August September or October. We can do flkct against fighting and camping events because scribes don't scribe at a lot of outdoor events. I just need help figuring out when is feasible. It isn't a principality event but in the summits region. Maybe call it Saturday scribal a to z. Clovis mentioned doing the demo at riverfront park. Is it possible we just have a party? Like rent the pavilion set up some tents bring some things dress up make some food and dance? People will see what we are doing and ask. There's people who have picnics all the time for gaming larp and even juneteenth without being a big giant demo. Exchequer Wystan Ledger balance - $14, Bank balance - $14, I am still working on resolving the changes to the signer card completed. End of Year report has been submitted. The financial committee will need to select a new representative from the barony's officers to sit on the committee. The Chamberlain has provided the committee with pricing for a storage facility for discussion at tonight's meeting. Chamberlaine-melannei First, I've requested reimbursement for a large duffel bag for the top of the gate pop up. It will not always be feasible to put it away in the pop up bag as the top with often be torn down while wet. The big news regards the shed. Back in the summer the finance committee charged me with finding a storage facility for the baronial equipment with a budget of $150 a month. It's taken me a while to do so, both because of modern life and because there were many options to consider. I have decided on Northwest Self Storage in Salem on Del Webb near the cross streets of Salem Parkway and Cherry. A 10'x18' unit is $149 a month, with discounts for prepayment. The finance committee is discussing rental and the possibility of prepayment. Hopefully we can sign a lease by the end of the month. The storage facilities access hours are 6 am- 10 pm every day which fits our needs for evenings and Sundays very well. It Is also a larger size than I could get within budget at nearly all the other places I researched. If the finance committee approves the rental, we will need to coordinate a date to move the baronial equipment from Baron Cesare and Baroness Astrid's home to the new shed.
7 Page 9 January Business Meeting Notes The storage facility has a moving truck that we can use at no charge. I'll request help on Facebook once a date has been set. SEEKING SUCCESOR Librarian Vacant Nothing to repor Heavy Marshal Randall We have been experiencing a slight rise in attendance. Fighting at the new site thou cool is not unbearable due to rain and cross winds. I attended 12th night but was unable to attend the marshal meeting due to unfamiliarity with the site. We have two fighters being placed on vigil soon we have two well deserved knights. Not much more to note I still seek a replacement and a deputy. Rapier-Santinus This month we had an average of 4 steel fighters show up for 3 practices held. Due to illness I was unable to attend the Marshal s meeting at 12th night to find out about any new rule changes. There was no Rapier activity outside of practice this month. List minister-peder Nothing to report Target Archery Marshal Dunca 10 to 25 at practice No injuries nothing else to report please attend practice on tuesdays Equestrian Marshal Tassi- Not much to report. Our last practice was in November with 5 in attendance. The holiday season has passed and our small group is working on potential practice dates for the 2019 year. It is looking like several subday practice dates will be included for the year as Sunday s work very well for two participants. Proposed practice dates include: March 24 March 30 or 31 April 13 or 14 April 20 or 21 May 4 or 5 May 11 or 12 June 1 or 2 June 15 or 16 June 29 or 30 July 13 or 14 Aug 3 or 4 Aug 17 or 18 Aug 24 or 25 Sept 5 or 6 Sept 14 or 15 Sept 21 or 22 Sept 28 or 29 Oct 5 or 6 Oct 12 or 13 Nov 2 or 3 Nov 9 or 10 I think we will likely pick one Saturday and one Sunday per month. July and September are tough months and I believe I missed a few conflicts so if someone wants to let me know which ones I missed that would be helpful. On a side note, I cannot recall if my deputy is an actual official deputy? If not, I would like to figure out how to make that happen? Herald Marcus Pretty quiet month Looking for volunteers for bar gemels Arts and Sciences Ulf December nothing happened January get together for A&S sewing February working on coligraphy more detes to come Coastal A&S Marcus Not a whole lot going on.. Dieing fabrics this weekend Chronicler Olaff Didn t get a chance to work on the privy for january I will have info on february that will include january info Grete Boke VACANT Web Minister adele Another quiet month for the website. We had another recipe submission for the Culinary section and there have been minor content updates regarding the polling. it came to my attention at 12th Night that Kingdom Web has been busy securing documents that include mundane personal information behind a member login, including their newsletter. We are currently posting the Privy publicly on the Terra Pomaria website, and while I feel fairly comfortable with this, it's worth noting what's happening with other publications in the society and making sure we are in compliance. Chatelaine Luther For the month of December the office of Castilian has to report a successful Celidh hosted at the new facility. It featured the 3rd annual Gingerbread competition. We had over 30 attend the event and 9 teams competed for the build in house event and 1 bring from home entry. I have updated to the new after much delaying and report I am playing catch up with prior s I have missed due to the delay. Gold Key-Alyna Gold Key went to January Ceilidh, was not used. Gold Key will be at February Ceilidh. i am still looking for a successor as my term of office has finished. I am willing to stay in an interim basis until a replacement steps forward. Please contact me if you would like more info on what this job entails. (Apologies for those of you getting duplicate s, I am still not sure who has the new accounts set up so am sending to both again this month.)
