LinDis sends a shout out to Santinus for ranking in capt of cats tournament. Thank everyone for help with the processional, such a great event turnout. Looking forward to seeing people at 12 th night. Come support Rhi at her vigil. Officer Reports Seneschal: Greetings and Well Met! My report is a lengthy one this month and I apologize, I shall attempt to be brief and keep to the high points. In the past month I have been approached by a site owner regarding a potential event site within the Barony for our consideration. It is the site where Canterbury Faire was held in 2016, they are eager for our business and I will be speaking with them about what their event site offers. At Investiture Their Excellencies Terra Pomaria, Their Excellencies Adiantum, the Seneschal of Adiantum, and myself had a meeting regarding the Summer event shuffle we have been discussing for the past few months. It was a very productive discussion with tentative plans for future joint events and moving The Long and Short of It back to our August Date. The June date will be released. At Investiture I attended Moot along with 24 others, 9 of whom were from Terra Pomaria. A very strong show of support for Summits from our Barony. Thank you. Her Excellency Jennet sign a 1 year extension for her term as Exchequer and continues to seek a successor. HL Nai is coming up for replacement as Principality Chatelaine in April. HL Seamus O'Caellaigh is Summits Social Media Deputy, all Official Summits level FB events must go through his office as well as any concerns regarding the Social Media office. HE Diana de Winterton stepped up as both the new Summits Scribe and Deputy Chamberlain. From Principality Knight Marshal came the statement of increased vigilance regarding head protection, including possibility of requiring helmet inspections off the head. Youth and Family Activities program is backed by corporate and participation is heavily encouraged. Preceptor of Pages office is closing. In upcoming event news; Briaroak is hosting two events in February, Birl on the 4th and Summits A&S and Bardic 24-26th, all support is highly appreciated. March Coronet in Couer du Valle is adding a 5 course feast and highly recommending all fighters bring multiple shoe styles as the list field will be determined by the fickle weather/ ground conditions (ie slippery floors, gravel, or mud/grass). Shield boards are a possibility for the Captain of Tigers tournament and encouraged by the Lists Mistress. Couer du Valle also states they will be holding "True Arte of Defense" the last weekend of June, Fencing intensive. Myrtleholt's ARC is moving to July. Social Media Deputy-VACANT: Nothing to Report Family Activities Coordinator- VACANT: Nothing to Report Exchequer: Bank: $11, Ledger: $11, If you have any outstanding checks from the Barony to deposit or reimbursement requests to make that you would like to get deposited by the end of the year, please do so soon. We are rapidly approaching the end of the year and our year-end report, and I would prefer to have no checks hanging out with me come January 1st. The finance committee held their quarterly meeting on December 4th, In attendance from the committee were Her Excellency Lindis de Aquisgranno, Mindy, Gwyneth Blackthorne, Santinus Contarini, and Sir William Brannan. Missing was His Excellency Weylyn. The committee voted to dispose of the columns and obelisks currently in the storage shed. Exchequer needs to talk with Chamberlain, but at this point, we would like to retain two of the obelisks for equestrian activities and will probably offer up the remaining pieces to the populace. The committee voted to make available $400 to the Chamberlain to pursue getting two 10x10 shelters to replace the current gate set-up. Two 10x10s would make set up by one person feasible. A gutter could be placed between the two to protect against rain. The budget for 2017 was approved and will be included at the end of this report to be published in. The A&S Minister was granted a temporary $100 limit through the end of the year to stock up on any needed supplies. (see budget table and end of minutes.) Chamberlain: All lost and found items from Martinmas have been returned to their owners. A small box of sharp implements, mostly knives, went missing at Martinmas. If you were helping in the kitchen please check your belongings in case it accidentally went home with you. Outside of Martinmas, only one outstanding check out remains: some kitchen utensils that were checked out to Countess Berengaria before West war in July. The finance committee has approved disposing of several large items in the shed, the columns and all but two of the obelisks. I'll be offering the wood to the populace before throwing them away. That will likely happen in January. I also got approval to spend up to $400. Looking into repurposing the pop up cover that we have and/or purchasing another. Librarian: Things are going well in the library. There were many checked out issues of books this month at Ceilidh. Which makes me very happy :}. Heavy Marshall: The last two practices have been cancelled because of poor weather/ unsafe driving conditions. And the practice on Thanksgiving was cancelled as well. So there has been little opportunity for armor failures or injuries. Regretfully I am unable to continue as the Baronial Marshall. I have spoken briefly with His Excellency about this, but I need to make it official as of January business meeting. Thank you for letting me serve the Barony in this capacity, I had hoped to continue for some time but situations simply do not allow it. Rapier Marshall: For the 3 practices we held since my last report we averaged 7 fencers. There are no major rule changes that I am aware of. However I would like to thank Msr. Christian for donating a functional drop tester to the barony. We had 5 Baronial fencers participate in the Captain of Cats tournament. The new Captain of Cats is Don Andrew Crowe. There are no scheduled activities beyond practice in the barony for the next month. Golden apple was held on Dec.1. Kenji won in a reverse bear pit format tournament. Lists-VACANT: Nothing to Report Target Archery: No report received. Seeking a replacement. Equestrian Marshall: Last official practice was December 3rd, with 4 riders and 4 horses in attendance. Next years practice dates are TBD as soon as I can get scheduled with the site owner and to compare to the event calendar. When this is accomplished I will request equestrian insurance. Youth Combat Marshall-VACANT: Nothing to Report Herald: I guess this'll be my last report for now (other than the quarterly one next month). At November's meeting we voted in the lovely and capable Lady Christmas as the new baronial herald! I'll be handing off the bins and the account at the next one. It's a little bittersweet, but

7 Page 7 December Business Meeting cont. mostly exciting, because I know we're in good hands. So here's the question: should we do Christmas's new herald ceremony at a ceilidh, or wait for Bar Gemels? My instinct is the former, since that was how my own went, but it's obviously flexible. It definitely makes things feel official, though. (Oh, and I'm ostensibly her deputy, so I guess we should do paperwork for that.) As far as I know, we've had no new registrations or returns for our barony during this last month, but Viscountess Diana de Winterton did get her arms passed! That matters because she bought a flag at a silent auction ages ago, so now I can officially queue her up and keep the barony honest. :) She's next after Ruadrig mac Muredig, but I'm taking December off (on the assumption that I will in fact give birth someday). Arts & Sciences: Last month's A&S was a wreath making class taught by our wonderful seneschal. There were 10 people in attendance 1 was the instructor and all of the rest participated in the class in some fashion. It was an amazing class with some very beautiful wreaths turned out. As a reminder there will be no A&S to his month due to it being Christmas. Chronicler: I have been unable to complete the minutes or privy this month. My term ends in April and I'd like to start the process of finding my replacement. Grete Boke-VACANT: Nothing to Report Web Minister: I am still updating pages and continue on my hunt for a successor. Chatelaine: December ceilidh was great. We made gingerbread house and all had fun. We had several new people. There were several musicians. I had a lot of help setting up and lots to clean the hall. Thank you to everyone who helped and participated in any way. I hope the holidays treat everyone well and look forward to seeing everyone next year. Gold Key: Took Gold Key to December Ceilidh, was used by four people. Planning to bring Gold Key to January Ceilidh. Scribe: December's Scribal Night will be Wednesday, Dec. 21 from 7-9pm at the Ike Box Cafe in Salem. We'll have charters and notecards and people are welcome to bring any crafts they're working on. Past Events Martinmas: I regret to report that I must put off my final event report. There has been a delay on the finance consolidation that the Exchequer and I are working to resolve and I am chasing down reports from my heads of staff. I apologize for this failure on my part and ask your forgiveness. Upcoming Events Bar Gemels: no progress yet. Meeting Wed 21 st at 6pm at Ike Box. Still looking for kitchen mgr and st night dinner.
