The children's playground at Holly Park has been recently repeatedly vandalized. We are increasing our patrols in the area. Anyone seeing persons acting suspiciously in the area, please call or if a crime in progress 911. ARRESTS: 07/01/06 10:15 am 100 block of Appleton Officers Harry Soulette, Bus Massey, Steven Ferraz and Kent Chiu went to the 100 block of Appleton and interviewed a victim who had been threatened with a dumbbell "weight" as the suspect had swung the metal object at a person in a car. The officers located the suspect on Appleton and detained him. After an investigation the officers arrested the suspect for criminal threats and felony assault. They also found a loaded M-1 carbine in his vehicle. The suspect, who lives on the 100 block of Appleton was charged with numerous felonies. Case # /01/06 3:55 pm Mission and Appleton Officers Anthony LaRocca and Ignacio Martinez stopped a vehicle for a registration violation. The driver, who lives on the 3500 block of Mission, was unlicensed. He was cited and his 1995 Ford was towed. Case # /01/06 5:45 pm Santos and Geneva

2 Officer Wayman Young stopped a vehicle for a turn violation. The driver, who lives on Schwerin, was unlicensed. He was cited and his 1990 Honda was towed. Case # /01/06 8:00 pm 29th and Mission Officer Howard Brown stopped a vehicle for an equipment violation. The driver, who lives on the first block of Chicago, was driving with a suspended license and was uninsured. He was cited and his 1988 Mitsubishi was towed. Case # /01/06 8:20 pm Hahn and Sunnydale Officer Victor Hui and Mark Monpas went to Hahn and Sunnydale on a report of a large crowd fighting in front of the market at that location. They encountered two juveniles who had been engaged in a mutual combat. The residents of Blythdale and Daly City were cited for battery. Case # /01/06 10:00 pm Mission and Tingley Sgt. Gabe Gallaread observed a suspect in a vehicle speed past him on Mission Street at twice the posted speed limit. The sergeant stopped the vehicle at Mission and Onondaga and upon contacting the driver could tell that he was quite under the influence of alcohol. The suspect, who lives in Mill Valley, was arrested for drunk driving, speeding, driving with a suspended license and for a drunk warrant from Santa Barbara. His 1998 BMW was towed. Case # /01/06 11:09 pm 800 block of Brazil Officers Stephanie Otaguro, Rommel Baldovino, Kevin Lundy, Daniel Kroos, Eric Reboli, Shawn Phillips, Salvador Perz, Renee Pagano and Sergeants Greg Dare and Edward Anzore went to the 800 block of Brazil where a family dispute in the garage escalated to a point where a suspect stabbed a victim in the arm. 4 #1 John V. Young Lane San Francisco, Ca Telephone ARRESTS: 07/02/06 2:45 am 114 Crescent Officer Michael Brown stopped a vehicle for a registration violation. The driver, who lives on the 1500 block of Palou, was unlicensed and uninsured. He was cited and his Geo was towed. Case # /02/06 3:23 am Mission and Silver Officer Angelina Sanchez stopped a vehicle for going through a flashing red light. The driver, who lives on the first block of Richland, was driving with a suspended license and was uninsured. He was cited and his 2000 Nissan was towed. Case # /02/06 9:54 am 500 block of San Juan Officers Rich Morgante and Rosalyn Rouede stopped a vehicle for being driven with a headlight out. The driver gave numerous names, dates of birth and other obfuscatory information. He was arrested for being unlicensed and uninsured and his 1999 Toyota was towed. Case # /02/06 12:31 pm 900 block of Geneva Officer Amy Hurwitz and Sgt. Michelle Jean encountered a person on the 900 block of Geneva disturbing the peace. When they stopped to talk to this peron, with no permanent local address, he fought with the officers. It was determined that he was wanted on a warrant for driving with a suspended license. He was booked for drunk, battery, resisting and the warrant. Case # /02/06 3:00 pm 200 block of Santos Officers Howard Brown, Amalia Barcena, Debbie Adams, Valerie Altamirano, Mark Monpas, Victor Hui, Gerald Thompson, Amy Hurwitz and Sgt. Jean responded to the 200 block of Santos on a report of a boyfriend with a knife attacking his girlfriend. The officers found no knife but determined that the suspect had smashed a mirror on the victim causing cuts and had beaten her repeatedly as well as grabbing her forcefully around the neck. He was arrested on numerous felony charges. Case #

5 07/02/06 4:21 pm Bayshore and Jerrold Officer Amy Hurwitz and Sgt. Michelle Jean encountered a driver in a vehicle doubleparked. The driver, who lives on the 800 block of Edinburgh, was operating the vehicle with a suspended license and was uninsured. He also had misdemeanor warrants for his arrest. His 1993 Mazda was towed. Case # /02/06 4:50 pm 3775 Mission Street Officers Carmen Barroeta, Luis Tillan and Eric Reboli went to a tavern on the 3700 block of Mission where a man had beaten his wife and threatened her. The officers arrested the residend of Lydia avenue on two felony charges. 7 Officer Jose Lopez stopped a driver for a stop sign violation. The driver, who lives on the 4400 block of Mission, was driving with a suspended license. He was cited and his 1991 Honda was towed. Case # /03/06 10:13 pm 600 block of Monterey Officers Robert Trujillo and Melonee Alvarez observed a suspicious person in a vehicle at a red zone. A consent search revealed that the resident of the 600 block of O'Farrell was in possession of cocaine. Case # /03/06 10:43 pm 5600 block of Mission Officer Jeffrey Chang went to the 5600 block of Mission on a report of a trespasser. When he contacted the suspect with no permanent local address, he found he was wanted for a warrant charging possession of cocaine for sale. Diamond Heights Residents---There will be a youth barbeque at Walter Haas Park on Saturday, July 8th from Noon until 4:00 pm. ARRESTS: 07/04/06 12:17 am Elk and Bosworth Officer Luis Tillan stopped a vehicle for an equipment violation. The driver, who lives on the 400 block of Leavenworth, was unlicensed. He was cited and his 1992 Honda was towed. Case # /04/06 6:20 am 1000 block of Powhattan Officers Michael Walsh, Rich Morgante, Rosalyn Rouede and Sgt. Martha Juarez went to a residence on the 1000 block of Powhattan where a teenager had struck her parents and was causing a major problem in the home. The officers calmed the situation, admonished the child and memorialized the incident in a report. Case # /04/06 8:05 am Alemany and Onondaga Officers Michael Walsh and Sophal Chea responded to a report that a suspect was selling drugs. They made contact with the person and found a resident of Daly City had a warrant from San Mateo County for driving with a suspended license. Case # /04/06 9:52 am-2:49 am 07/05 Wilde and Rutland Officers Julian Hermosura, Christopher Anderson, Oscar Padilla, Michael Brown and Sgt. Greg Dare, Herb Najarro and Eric Reboli went to the 300 block of Wilde where a suspect who lives in another unit in the building had broken into a unit looking for items to take. The victim was aware of the suspect's identity. When the suspect returned to his unit at 3:00 am he was arrested by the officers and admitted the burglary. The suspect was also arrested on warrants from San Mateo that included a no bail narcotics warrant and a warrant for driving with a suspended license. Case # /04/06 12:53 pm 900 block of Geneva

10 Officers Anthony LaRocca and Ignacio Martinez responded to a Walgreen's on the 900 block of Geneva where a shoplifter had been confronted by security and then grabbed a screwdriver attempting to stab security personnel. The officers assisted security in subduing the suspect who violently resisted arrest. The suspect, who has no permanent local address, was arrested for robbery and other charges. Case # /04/06 5:17 pm 3200 block of Folsom Officers Wendy Bear, Herb Najarro and Eric Reboli went to a residence on the 3200 block of Folsom where two squatters had set up residence in a empty part of the building. The officers arrested one suspect and cited the other for trespassing and malcious mischief. Both suspects have no permanent local address. Young Lane San Francisco, Ca Telephone There will be a community meeting on Monday, July 10, 2006 at 5:00 pm at 515 Cortland, the Bernal Heights Neighborhood Center to discuss the issue of the gate at the end of the 700 block of Anderson and to discuss crime prevention in the general neighborhood. ARRESTS: 07/05/06 7:36 am First block of Camellia Officers Michael Walsh, Ignacio Martinez, Bud Massey, Sophal Chea, Ivan Chavez, Debbie Adams, Jose Lopez, Marion Campion-Healy and Albert Duarte responded to the first block of Camellia on a report from a Department of Parking and Traffic employee that a suspect was inside a stolen vehicle. The officers quickly arrived and took the suspect, who lives on the 700

12 block of Madrid, into custody. Suspected methamphetamine was found on his person. He was booked on auto theft and narcotics charges. Case # /05/06 1:47 pm Cortland and Bocana Officer Kirk Yin stopped a vehicle for no front license plate. The driver, who lives on the 300 block of Nevada, was driving with a suspended license and was uninsured. He was cited and his 1995 Ford was towed. Case # /05/06 2:53 pm First block of Arleta Officer Amy Hurwitz and Sgt. Michelle Jean stopped a resident of the first block of Arleta for a turn violation while driving his vehicle. When they made contact with him they determined that he was in possession of prohibited "brass knuckles" and marijuana. He was arrested on five charges. Case # /05/06 6:07 pm 3800 block of Mission Officers Kirk Yin and Craig Dong spotted a suspicious person in a bus shelter. When they contacted him he was inspecting marijuana in a plastic bag. They cited the resident of the 100 block of Porter. Case # /05/06 6:45 pm 30th and Mission Officers Wendy Bear and Daniel Silver spotted a suspect in full gang regalia acting suspiciously. When he spotted the officers, he took off in another direction. The officers stopped the suspect and found him to be wanted on a no bail parole violation. He refused to give his address. Case # /05/06 6:52 pm 300 block of Silver Officers Melonee Alvarez and Robert Trujillo observed a suspect lying on the sidewalk. In checking on his well-being they determined that the suspect, with no permanent local address, was in possession of hypodermic needles to inject heroin and was wanted on a misdemeanor warrant. Case # /05/06 9:58 pm 300 block of Harkness Sgts. Gabe Gallaread and John Burke along with Officers Robert Toomey, Kevin Chin, Oscar Padilla, Michael Brown and Chris Anderson went to the 300 block of Harkness where a domestic dispute had escalated to the point where a female had stabbed her boyfriend twice in the back. The officers summoned

13 medical assistance and arrested the suspect on two felonies. The Addison/Farnum neighborhood watch group will also have a potluck lunch at Noon on Saturday at Walter Haas Playground. The Outer Mission Residents Association meets at 7:00 pm at the Crocker Amazon Recreation Center on Monday, July 10, The Anderson Street Safe Alliance and adjoining neighborhood members will have a community meeting at the Bernal Heights Neighborhood Center, 515 Cortland, on Monday, July 10, 2006 at 5:00 pm. There will be representatives there from the Department of Public Works, Police Department, Housing Authority, Mayor's Office, San Francisco Safe and others. The meeting will involve issues of fire safety, traffic, crime and

The Cayuga Improvement Association meets at the Cayuga Clubhouse at 7:00 pm on Tuesday, July 11, On Saturday, July 8, 2006 from 1:00 to 3:00 pm there will be the second of three community workshops for the Mission/Geneva transportation study at Corpus Christi Chiurch, 62 Santa Rosa. For more information, call Childcare and refreshments will be available for attendees. ARRESTS: 07/06/06 1:45 am Geneva and Mission Officer Kevin Chin stopped a vehicle for a sign violation. The driver, a resident of South San Francisco, was unlicensed and uninsured. He was cited and his 1999 Honda was towed. Case # /06/06 7:10 am Geneva and Cayuga Officer Richmond Curry stopped a resident of the 1400 block of 30th avenue for a stop sign violation. The driver was wanted on a warrant from Pacifica Police for driving with a suspended license. Case # /06/06 9:45 am Judson and Edna City College Police cited a resident of the 200 block of Judson for fraudulent vehicle registration. His 1979 Chevrolet was towed. Case # /06/06 2:00 pm 600 block of Excelsior Officers Dan Gibbs, Andy Cox and Josh Kumli were conducting plainclothes surveillance of drug activity in the 600 block of Excelsior due to community complaints. They observed a drug sale and arrested a suspect who refused his address for possession of cocaine and drug paraphernalia. The investigation is continuing. Case # /06/06 2:49 pm Russia and Vienna Officers Mitchell Campbell and Jason Acosta stopped a resident of the 900 block of Persia for going through a stop sign. The driver was driving with

16 a suspended license and was in possession of cocaine. He was arrested and his 2003 Nissan was towed. Case # /06/06 4:00 pm Persia and Madrid Officers Amy Hurwitz and Ramon Davila responded to a fight on a muni bus. They broke up the fight and found that one of the combatants, a resident of the 800 block of Colby, was wanted from Solano County for driving with a suspended license. Case # /06/06 5:25 pm London and Geneva Officer Craig Wilson stopped a vehicle for failing to yield to a pedestrian. The driver, who lives on the 200 block of Blythdale, was unlicensed. He was cited and his 1993 Pontiac was towed. Case # /06/06 5:50 pm Peabody and Leland Officers Salvador Perez and Dan Silver stopped a known gang member who had been listed as a suspect in a violent robbery case. The resident of Oakland was driving with a suspended license. The robbery case had been disposed of so the suspect was cited and his 1994 Ford was towed. Case # /06/06 6:42 pm Geneva and Moscow Officers Dan Gibbs, Josh Kumli and Andy Cox were on plainclothes patrol near the Crocker Amazon Playground when they spotted a suspicious vehicle. A computer check revealed the vehicle stolen from Eureka. They detained the driver, a resident of the 200 block of Justin. He was arrested for auto theft, receiving stolen property and a warrant from the San Mateo County Sheriff for receiving stolen property, no bail. Case # /06/06 7:20 pm Ellsworth and Crescent Officers Phillip Fowler and Mike Peregoy stopped a resident of the 100 block of Noe for failing to stop at a stop sign. The suspect was driving with a suspended license and had a misdemeanor warrant for his arrest. His 1989 Honda was towed. Case # /06/06 8:31 pm Geneva and Santos Officers Salvador Perez and Dan Silver spotted a vehicle driving in the Geneva and Santos area recklessly at high rates of speed, making wild turns and unable to control the vehicle. They finally stopped the vehicle in Daly City and cited the resident of the 1200 block of Peabody for reckless driving and driving with a suspended license. His 1987 Toyota was towed.

17 Case # /06/06 11:12 pm 400 block of Holladay Officers Daniel Kroos and Kevin Lundy went to the 1600 block of York where a victim reported that a suspect was peering into his bathroom window. The officers located the suspect on the 400 block of Holloday and arrested the local resident for violation of a restraining order. Case # /06/06 11:20 pm San Jose and Randall Officer Leonard Morrow stopped a vehicle at San Jose and Randall for an equipment violation. The driver, who lives on the 1200 block of Revere, was unlicensed. He was cited and his 1990 Acura was towed.
