1 Commanding Officer Taraval Police Station th Av San Francisco, Ca Telephone (415) ARRESTS: 04/25/09 7:08 am 20th Avenue and Irving Officers John Laffey and Richard Austria observed a man riding a bicycle on the sidewalk. They stopped him and found that the transient was wanted in Orange County for warrants for possession of explosives and for loitering. Case # /25/09 Noon 600 block of Orizaba A domestic violence victim came to the Taraval Station to report that her husband and grabbed her, thrown her to the ground, and then struck her repeatedly in the head. This attack all occurred in front of their seven month old son. The husband came to Taraval Station where Officers Moli Finau and Michael Ross arrested him for domestic violence. Case # /25/09 8:00 pm 200 block of Holloway A woman was attacked by her husband after a verbal dispute. The husband struck her about the face and arms and injured her eye. Officers Khang Do, Nanci Stockwell, Carmen Batan, Benny Lew, Rex Calaunan and Meaghan McMilton responded to the scene. Officers Lew and Calaunan located the suspect hiding in the backyard. 3 Taraval Police Station th Av San Francisco, Ca Telephone (415) Breaking News---Taraval and other San Francisco Police Department Officers Arrest Bank Robber at 15th Avenue and Ulloa on Municipal Railway Light Rail Vehicle at 10:27 am today, Monday, April 27, Robbery occurred earlier in the morning on Montgomery Street. More details in tomorrow's report. ARRESTS: 04/25/09 12:50 am 300 block of Arballo Officer Dennis Cravalho went to an address on the 300 block of Arballo where there was a noisy party. The officer broke up the party and cited two San Francisco State students for being minors in possession of alcoholic beverages. Case # /26/09 3:24 am 2300 block of Irving Officers Robert Hamblen and Tobius Moore were on patrol when they noticed a large number of people coming and going from a closed business establishment. The windows were covered so no one could see in and a further investigation revealed that the inside was full of alcoholic beverages. The proprietor was contacted and had no licenses to operate the "night club". The resident of Cupertino was cited and the case referred to the Alcohol Beverage Control agency. Case # /26/09 2:22 pm 1400 block of 27th Avenue Officers Moli Finau and Michael Ross went to San Francisco General Hospital where a sexual assault victim was being treated. The officers conducted a comprehensive investigation and found that the assault had taken place at a residence on the 1400 block of 27th Avenue. The suspect, who lives in Hayward, came to Taraval Police Station and was arrested on five charges. Case #

4 04/26/09 4:30 pm 200 block of Winston Officers Nanci Stockwell and Carmen Batan went to Nordstrom where security was holding a trespasser. The suspect, who lives on the 900 block of Howard, had been warned many times about theft and trespassing violations. He was cited for trespass and possession of burglar tools. Case # /26/09 5:44 pm 200 block of Montana San Francisco Police Department Tactical Officers conducted a parole search on the 200 block of Montana and arrested a resident there for possessing marijuana and for being a felon in possession of ammunition. The suspect was also charged with a parole violation. A second suspect, who lives on the 200 block of Monticello, was arrested on a no bail parole violation. Case # /26/09 5:15 pm Santiago and 23rd Avenue Officers Lydia Faidiga and Thu Vaing responded along with numerous other officers on a report of a suspect shooting a BB gun at victims and threatening to kill them. The officers obtained a description with Sgt. Robert Bohanan locating the suspect at 23rd and Vicente after a foot chase. The suspect had a black backpack containing two BB guns, gun magazines and had a BB gun in his waist band. The suspect, who lives on Genebern Way, was arrested for felony assault, criminal threats and other charges. 6 Taraval Officers Speed to Scene of Burglary at Ulloa Elementary School and Capture Three Adult Burglars---See Below. ARRESTS: 04/27/09 9:05 am 15th Avenue and Ulloa A suspect committed a bank robbery on the 200 block of Montgomery at 9:05 am. The suspect was tracked to 19th Avenue and Sloat and then was believed to be on a light rail vehicle on 15th Avenue and Ulloa. Numerous officers responded to the area of the railway vehicle including investigators from the San Francisco Police Department robbery detail and Officer Neil Fanene of the Taraval Police Station. The suspect was located on the rail vehicle and taken into custody. The suspect, who lives on the 400 block of Eddy, was arrested for robbery and for three no bail warrants from the United States Marshall's office relating to previous robberies. Case # /27/09 2:17 pm Broad and Capitol Officers Chris Oshita, Scott Biggs. Wilrolan Ravelo and Jennifer Fiorello were on patrol when they spotted a suspect loitering who was known to be on probation with a search condition. A warrant check revealed that the resident of the 200 block of Minerva, was wanted on a warrant from Marin County for drunk driving and driving with a suspended license. Case # /27/09 3:48 pm Sunset and Ocean Officers Joseph Everson and Francis Feliciano responded on a verbal dispute between a municipal railway driver and a suspect. The suspect, who lives on the first block of Santa Ynez, was wanted on a malicious mischief warrant from San Mateo County. Case # /27/09 11:15 pm 2600 block of 42nd Avenue A local resident called the police as she saw three suspects wearing "hoodies" open a window to Ulloa Elementary School and go into the school. Sgt. Jody Kato along with Officers Angela 6

7 Rouede, Alan Lamb, Tobius Moore, Robert Hamblen, Simon Wong, Dennis Cravalho, Marc Higa, Matthew Parra, Buddy Siguido and Sgt. Fitzgerald Wong all responded to the scene, observed that the window was open and set up a perimeter around the school. Officers Cravalho, Wong, Hamblen and Moore observed movement in bushes adjacent to the school and shined their flashlights at that area. They then found three suspects hiding in the bushes. The officers located a screwdriver and other items of evidence and found damage within the school in various rooms. They also located an electronic item outside the school near the suspects. One suspect identified that item as one that he had taken from the school during the course of the burglary. A comprehensive investigation linked the suspects to the burglary. The suspects, who are all adults and live on the 4500 block of Mission, the 1900 block of 19th Avenue and the 1600 block of 41st Avenue, were arrested for burglary, conspiracy, receiving stolen property, malicious mischief and possession of burglar tools. 9 Supervisor Carmen Chu will hold a community meeting on any concerns of Sunset residents about the Sunday Streets events coming to the Great Highway this summer. The meeting will be held in the St. Francis Room of the United Irish Cultural Center on Tuesday, May 12, 2009 at 7:00 pm. The monthly Police/Community meeting usually scheduled for the third Tuesday of the month will be instead held on Tuesday, May 12, 2009 at 7:00 pm at Taraval Police Station, th Avenue. The guest speaker will be Inspector Richard Van Koll of the San Francisco Police Department Auto Investigations Detail. The Merced Extension Triangle Nieghborhood Association meets on Tuesday, May 12, 2009 at 7:00 pm at 640 Palmetto. On Wednesday, May 13, 2009 at 6:00 pm there will be a community meeting to discuss changes and renovation to the Sunset Recreation Center. The meeting will be held at the Center, 28th Avenue and Lawton. On Wednesday, April 15, 2009 the San Francisco Police Department Wilderness Program participated with Blue Water Foundation to provide sailing on the Bay with twelve (12) students from Lincoln High School. ARRESTS: 04/28/09 1:35 am 19th Avenue and Noriega Officer Lin Xia stopped a vehicle for an equipment violation. The driver, who lives on the 400 block of 47th Avenue, was driving with a suspended license and was uninsured. He was cited and his 1992 Nissan was towed. Case # /28/09 8:18 am 24th Avenue and Judah Officer Charles Chan stopped a vehicle for impeding the flow of traffic. The driver, who lives on the 1300 block of 30th Avenue, was driving with a suspended license and was uninsured. He was cited and his 1997 Toyota was towed. 10 Officers Kevin O'Leary and Wilrolan Ravelo observed a loiterer and stopped to investigate. The local resident was cited for possession of marijuana. Case # /28/09 11:30 am 1800 block of 47th Avenue In response to numerous complaints from residents of a suspected house of prostitution operating out of a private residence, Captain Paul Chignell and Sgt. Steve Quon conducted an investigation and found evidence of suspected customers and confimed that there may be illegal activity occurring at that location. Various persons were detained and admonished. Case # /28/09 12:15 pm 19th Avenue and Ocean Officer Christopher Beauchamp stopped a vehicle for a red light violation. The driver, who lives in Modesto, was driving with a suspended license. He was cited and his 1996 Jeep was towed. Case # /28/09 4:35 pm 3200 block of 20th Avenue Officers Jennifer Fiorello and Scott Biggs went to Macy's where security was holding two shoplifters. The officers arrested the residents of the 800 block of Rolph and the 100 block of Farragut for grand theft and conspiracy. Case # /28/09 5:00 pm 1700 block of 39th Avenue Due to numerous complaints of prostitution activity at a private residence on the 1700 block of 39th Avenue, Taraval Station personnel contacted the San Francisco Police Department Vice Crimes Division. Officers from that division went to the address. One of the officers was solicited for an act of prostitution. The suspect, who gave an address in Colorado, was arrested. Others on the premises were admonished. Case # /28/09 9:30 pm 2500 block of Judah Due to numerous complaints of prostitution activity at a "healing" center on the 2500 block of Judah, Taraval officers again notified the Vice Crimes Division. Those officers went to the establishment and one of the "healers" solicited an officer for an act of prostitution. The suspect, who lives in Daly City, was cited. 11 Officers Matthew Sullivan and Leroy Thomas stopped a vehicle for an equipment violation. The driver, who lives on Stofford Street, was driving with a suspended license. He was cited and his 1992 Lexus was towed. On Saturday, May 2, 2009 from 9:30 am to 11:30 am, State Senator Leland Yee will hold a Town Hall meeting at 825 Brotherhood Way. On Saturday, May 2, 2009 from 10:00 am to 11:30 am, Congresswoman Jackie Speier will hold a community meeting at Ulloa Elementary School, nd Avenue. On Saturday, May 2, 2009 from Noon to 2:30 pm the Sunset Elementary School, st Avenue, will hold a carnival for children. On Saturday, May 2, 2009 from 11:00 am 4:00 pm there will be a school carnival at Dianne Feinstein Elementary School, 24th Avenue and Vicente. ARRESTS: 04/29/09 1:23 pm 1200 block of Judah Officers Yukio Oshita and Scott Biggs spotted a wanted suspect walking down the street. They stopped and detained him and found that he was wanted on a drug warrant. The suspect, who lives in the neighborhood, was also on probation with a search condition. The search revealed an illegal air gun, a silver razor blade on a black taped handle and a silver screwdriver shaved down at the tip to be used as a stabbing instrument. 13 Officers Meaghan McMilton, Nathaniel Manalang, Kevin Mannix and Darren Wong responded to an address on 20th avenue where a boyfriend had struck a female victim about the neck and restrained her. He was arrested for domestic violence and false imprisonment. Case # /29/09 10:40 pm 2400 block of 28th Avenue Officers Scott Biggs and Jose Guardado stopped to investigate a man rifling through a car. They determined that he owned the car but the man had two drug warrants for his arrest from the San Mateo County Sheriff and the San Mateo Police Department. He was also in possession of marijuana. The suspect resides in the neighborhood. Case # /29/09 11:31 pm Lee and Lakeview Officers Duane Elzey, Gregory Pak, Dana Terry, Anthony Calasanz and Sgt. Robert Padrones investigated a man who went briefly into a known drug house and returned to his illegally parked car. The officers determined that the man was on probation. A search revealed a large amount of marijuana packaged for sale and methamphetamine. The man was arrested on three charges. He has no permanent local address. ARRESTS: 04/30/09 1:45 am 32nd Avenue and Noriega Officers Timothy Whatley and Jessica Nantroup stopped a vehicle that was being driven with two flat tires. The driver was quite intoxicated and stated that he had ingested four beers at one bar and four beers at another. He then asked the officers, "Did I run somebody over?" The driver, who lives on the 1600 block of 42nd Avenue, failed field sobriety tests and then stated "I'll admit, I am drunk". He was arrested for drunk driving. Case # /30/09 1:50 am Vidal and Higuera Officers Peterkent DeJesus, Wayne Wong and Christopher Smith responded to a domestic violence case in a vehicle where the woman had been beaten about the head repeatedly by her 14

15 boyfriend. The suspect, who lives in ParkMerced, was arrested for felony assault. Case # /30/09 9:50 am 2400 block of 29th Avenue Officers Thomas Ly and Orit Samson responded to a house on the 2400 block of 29th Avenue to assist agents from State Parole and the California Highway Patrol Investigations Unit to arrest a suspect wanted on a no bail parole warrant from the California Department of Corrections. The officers located the suspect hiding in a bathroom and took him into custody. The officers located numerous firearms and ammunition in the residence. The suspect was arrested on the parole warrant, weapons charges, and a warrant for resisting arrest from the Fremont Police Department. Case # /30/09 11:35 am 45th Avenue and Lincoln Officers Christopher Beauchamp, Chris Oshita, Brendan Gardiner and Ron Meyer responded on a request from San Francisco firefighters. They had located a man who was lighting papers on fire. When the officers tried to detain the suspect, he ran away into Golden Gate Park. Officers Meyer and Gardiner captured the man and cited the resident of Fieldbrook, California for three misdemeanor charges. Case # /30/09 11:53 am 19th Avenue Officer Wilrolan Ravelo stopped a vehicle for a red light violation. The driver, who lives in Daly City, was driving with a suspended license. He was cited and his 2001 Nissan was towed. Case # /30/09 2:31 pm Judah and 46th Avenue Officers Kevin O'Leary and Wilrolan Ravelo spotted a man standing in the street. A warrant check revealed that the resident of the 3200 block of Noriega was wanted on a warrant from the Marin County Sheriff for driving with a suspended license and being uninsured. Case # /30/09 3:42 pm 3100 block of Ortega Officers James Johnson, Lindsay Suslow and Ronald Choy responded to a large fight near Giannini Middle School. After an investigation the officers cited residents of the first block of 15

16 Pasadena, 2000 block of Carroll and the 600 block of 21st Avenue for assault and conspiracy. Case # /30/09 4:30 pm 500 block of Gonzalez Officers Duane Elzey, Juan Gala and Gregory Pak spotted a wanted suspect driving a vehicle. They stopped the resident of the 500 block of Gonzalez and arrested him for driving with a suspended license and for a warrant for the same thing from the San Mateo County Sheriff. His 1994 Toyota was towed. Case # /30/09 6:00 pm Ocean and Capitol Officer James Drilon stopped a vehicle for a stop sign violation. The driver, who lives in Pacifica, was unlicensed. He was cited and his 2001 Toyota was towed. Case # /30/09 6:30 pm 43rd and Wawona Officers Rex Calaunan, Khang Do and Lieutenant Michael Caplan were advised of a reckless driver who was "running" stop signs and speeding. The officers located the suspect at 21st and Taraval and cited the resident of the 1700 block of 46th Avenue. Case # /30/09 7:30 pm Junipero Serra and Ocean Officers Rodrigo Labson and Rolando Escobar stopped a vehicle for an equipment violation. The driver, who lives on the 600 block of 5th Avenue, was unlicensed and uninsured. He was cited and his 1995 Mazda was towed. Case # /30/09 10:49 pm 3400 block of Alemany Officers Scott Biggs and Jose Guardado stopped a vehicle for a registration violation. The driver, who lives on the 400 block of Ralston, was driving with a suspended license, was uninsured and was wanted on a drug warrant from the San Mateo County Sheriff. ARRESTS: 05/01/09 8:30 am Ocean and Santa Ana Officers John Laffey and Thomas Ly stopped a vehicle for an equipment and registration violation. The driver, who lives on the 1400 block of Baker, was in possession of marijuana. He was cited. Case # /01/09 1:45 pm 3200 block of 20th Avenue Officer Maria Donati went to Macy's where security was holding two shoplifters. She cited the residents of the 100 block of Precita and the 4700 block of Mission for theft. Case # /01/09 3:57 pm 200 block of Winston Officers Rodrigo Labson and Daniel Taft went to Nordstrom where security had detained three shoplifters. One suspect, who lives in Oakland, was arrested for felony theft as she had a prior 18

19 conviction. The other two, who live on the 1700 block of Sutter and the 300 block of Prague, were cited for theft. Case # /01/09 7:38 pm Vicente and 18th Avenue Officers Ronald Choy and James Johnson stopped a vehicle for an equipment violation. The driver, who lives on the 2300 block of 19th Avenue and is on probation for sales of drugs, was in possession of marijuana. He was arrested. Case # /01/09 10:51 pm Taraval and 19th Avenue Officers Alan Lamb and Lin Xia observed two individuals fighting with one in a "head lock". The officers attempted to investigate the fight but both individuals were recalcitrant. One of the suspects struck Officer Lamb in the shoulder. The suspects were subdued with the assistance of other officers. One suspect, who gave a Richmond District post office box, was arrested for public drunkeness, resisting arrest and possession of an open container of alcohol in public. The second suspect, who resides on the 1000 block of Market, was arrested for assault and resisting arrest.
