13 1 st QTR Significant Incidents January 1, 216 Police responded to a hit and run reported by a passerby. A large F25 pickup failed to negotiate the bend in the road. The vehicle left the roadway colliding with a utility pole and the retaining wall along the sidewalk on the south side of 212 th St SW. Several large boulders on City property were dislodged coming to rest on the sidewalk. The driver fled the vehicle at an unknown time prior to Police arriving on scene. The driver was later located at his residence with obvious injuries consistent with a collision. The driver was arrested and subsequently released to medics for treatment at the hospital. January 6, 216 Police attempted to stop a vehicle that was speeding and driving recklessly. The vehicle failed to negotiate a turn and struck a decorative front yard fence at st. The suspect vehicle then tried to back out from the fence and struck the patrol vehicle that was stopped behind the car. The vehicle then fled the scene after 3 passengers exited the car. The officer was able to interview the passengers and subsequently identified the local teen driver. Minor damage to the fence and car were noted. January 7, Police responded to a residence for a report of a sexual assault that occurred at MLT High School at approximately 16 HRS. After an initial investigation Detectives were called out and took over the investigation. CDO notified. January 1, 216 Police responded to the Ballinger Estate Condominiums for a burglary in progress. An unknown subject had broken the front door to a unit, entered, and assaulted the occupant by throwing Christmas Ornaments at her. The occupant had no injuries. The occupant fled. Upon arriving the suspect was discovered sitting on the couch watching television. The suspect was taken into custody without incident and booked into Snohomish County Jail for investigation of Burglary, Malicious Mischief, and Assault. January 17, 216 Police were dispatched to a Fire-assist at the Taluswood that turned into arson. A bag of charcoal briquettes was put under a vehicle and lit. A witness smelled and saw the flames under the vehicle and attempted to put out the fire and called 911. The Fire Marshall was called, photos were taken and the scene was documented. January 28, 216 Police responded to a car vs pedestrian accident. An adult male was struck while attempting to cross 236 th from northbound 58 th. He was immediately taken to Harborview with serious injuries. Lynnwood traffic unit assisted with accident reconstruction.

14 February 8, 216 Police responded to a report of a Mountlake Terrace resident who did not show up for work in Seattle. Her car was located near the park and ride where she normally meets a coworker to carpool. The missing person was not located at home, in the park or at the park and ride. The reported missing person was later found deceased in the area of 244 th and Cedar Way. The death investigation is ongoing. February 9, 216 Police located an occupied stolen vehicle in the 73 block of 224 th St SW. Immediately after receiving the stolen vehicle return the driver fled from the officer. A short pursuit ensued south on Hwy 99. The officer terminated the pursuit at the King-Snohomish County line. The vehicle was last seen entering Shoreline. February 17, 216 Police responded to a Mountlake Terrace residence for a female threatening to kill her brother with a knife. The investigation determined the female had been cutting through a door separating the brother and sister with a knife, and the brother believed his sister was trying to kill him. The female was taken into custody for Attempted Assault 1 DV and Mal Mischief and booked into Snohomish County Jail. February 21, 216 Police were dispatched to a report of a suspicious vehicle. The vehicle was a white Chrysler Town and Country minivan, AZ license AVR5583. The vehicle appeared to be a rental car registered out of Arizona. Officers attempted to stop the vehicle, and the vehicle did not stop. The vehicle was last seen entering I-5 southbound at a high rate of speed. It is unknown who was driving the vehicle, or why the vehicle was in the city. February 24, 216 Police were dispatched to a car fire at the Northern Light Apartments. Upon arrival officers observed a vehicle fully engulfed and two vehicles nearby in danger of catching fire. Fire responded and extinguished the fire. Further investigation found another vehicle at the location had the driver s window smashed and a wet rag was on the driver s seat. A K9 track was conducted with negative results. Evidence was located at the scene. A deputy fire marshal responded to the scene to assist with the investigation. March 6, 216 Police attempted a traffic stop on a male subject who had a MLT warrant. Just prior, his neighbors had reported him acting strangely and knew him to have mental issues. He initially refused to stop, but then pulled into the Chevron lot on Ballinger Way. He was not responsive to Officers at first, and then started to say things that did not make sense. He was taken into protective custody and immediately became resistive. Leg restraints were applied and he was transported by Aid to Swedish hospital.

15 March 14, 216 Police attempted to stop a green Subaru Outback, plate number AUU6876, for traffic violations at the 23 block of Lakeview Drive. The vehicle failed to yield as the Officer attempted to stop it. Once the reason for the stop was broadcast along with the reckless driving of the vehicle, the Patrol Sergeant terminated the pursuit. March 17, 216 Police contacted the victim of a reported burglary. The victim observed on social media, a picture of the suspects in a residence he recognized. One of the subjects in the picture was wearing some of the items taken in the burglary. Police attempted to make contact at the suspect s residence. Noises were heard from inside the home, but no one answered the door. While looking through the windows of the cars around the home, some of the stolen items were seen on the back seat of the suspect vehicle in the driveway of the suspect house. The vehicle was impounded pending a search warrant. March 17, Police were dispatched to 216 th and 66 th for a Malicious Mischief in progress. Officers arrived and the male subject was attempting to remove a stop sign from the ground. The subject was refusing to follow verbal commands and was actively resisting the officer making contact. A Taser was deployed and the subject was placed in handcuffs. The left handcuff was slipped and active resistance by the male was resumed. A Taser drive stun was applied to the subject s left calf muscle and the resistance stopped. The subject was transported for medical evaluation and booking clearance. There were a total of two street signs removed or damaged, and two parked vehicles belonging to a nearby business that were damaged by the same subject. The male was transported to Snohomish County Jail where he was booked on charges of malicious mischief and resisting arrest. March 18, 216 The South Snohomish County Narcotics Task Force served a search warrant at th sw. Six adult occupants were contacted. The male renter and his girlfriend were arrested for felony drug sales. Another male was arrested and booked on a felony warrant. A third male was detained for possession of narcotics and released to the task force. March 31, Police responded to a residence to conduct a welfare check on a subject who had not been heard from for over a week. Police were unable to get a response at the residence. The front door was breached and entry into the residence was made. The subject was located deceased in his bathtub. A rifle was lying across his body and he had significant trauma to his head from a gunshot wound. Detectives were notified and responded to the scene.
