1 ARRESTS: 03/13/09 5:30 am 39th Avenue A woman went with friends to Ocean Beach to drink alcohol and watch a bonfire. When she went back to her house to sleep she was sexually assaulted by one of her friends. Officers Brian Stansbury and Moli Finau investigated the case and traced the suspect to San Carlos where the suspect was arrested and then conveyed to San Francisco. The San Carlos resident was arrested on a sex crime. Case # /14/09 2:40 pm 3200 block of 20th Avenue Officer Carmen Batan went to the Apple Store in Stonestown and cited a resident of the 100 block of Miramar for shoplifting. Case # /14/09 7:08 pm 700 block of Pacheco Officers Mari Noguchi, Erik Maher, Benny Lew and Daniel Taft went to an address on the 700 block of Pacheco where a couple had been in an argument over infidelity. The man had struck the woman and grabbed her by the throat. He was arrested for domestic violence. Case # /14/09 8:44 pm 19th Avenue and Buckingham Various persons called the police as they observed a heavily intoxicated man with a 2 year old child on his lap on a municipal railway bus. The man was jerking the child's arm and was unable to care for her or himself due to his intoxication. Officers Brendan Gardiner and Benny Lew responded to the scene and were met by a tirade of abuse from the 42 year old suspect. They determined that he could not walk on his own due to his intoxication. The 1

2 child was secured and taken to her mother, who was the suspect's girlfriend. The suspect, who lives on the 1500 block of 45th Avenue, was arrested for child cruelty and public drunkeness. 3 th Avenue Stolen 1985 Toyota 1700 block of 29th Avenue Arson of Vehicle 2200 block of 33rd Avenue Psychiatric Evaluation ARRESTS: 03/15/09 1:04 am 2300 block of 17th Avenue Officers Tobius Moore, Robert Hamblen, Ramesh Shangaran and Dennis Cravalho were investigating a suspicious person on the sidewalk when a suspect came from a residence and confronted the officers, yelling obscenities and threatening to bring people over to kill the officers. The suspect then left the area but was stopped and arrested for criminal threats, drunk in public and resisting arrest. He resides in Fremont. Case # /15/09 1:06 am 2300 block of 17th Avenue Officers Robert Hamblen and Tobius Moore broke up a large party and cited a local resident, who is 20 years of age, for procuring alcoholic beverages for minors. Case # /15/09 8:30 am First block of Byxbee Officers Moli Finau, Wilrolan Rabelo and Michael Ross were towing a car when an inebriated man interfered with the officers. The man, who lives on the 1100 block of Oak, was wanted on a felony grand theft and receiving stolen property arrest warrant. Case # /15/09 4:45 pm 3200 block of 20th Avenue 3

4 Officers Rolando Escobar and Jessica Nantroup went to Nordstrom and arrested a resident of Richmond for grand theft/shoplifting. Case # /15/09 7:07 pm 3200 block of 20th Avenue Officers Mari Noguchi and Daniel Taft admonished two teenage girls for engaging in sex acts in the bathroom of Stonestown. The juveniles live on Buchanan and Persia. Case # /15/09 10:22 pm Sunset Boulevard and Lawton Officers Robert Hamblen and Tobius Moore stopped a vehicle for a license plate violation. The driver, who lives on the 500 block of John Muir, was unlicensed. He was cited and his 2008 BMW was towed. Case # /15/09 10:40 pm 19th Avenue and Moraga Officer Jeffrey Fortuno stopped a vehicle for being driven with no headlights. The driver, who lives in San Rafael, was unlicensed. 6 ARRESTS: 03/16/09 2:45 pm 34th Avenue and Sloat Officers John Laffey and Richard Austria stopped a vehicle for a red light violation. The driver, who lives on the 100 block of Bucareli, was driving with a suspended license. He was cited and his 1999 Lexus was towed. Case # /16/09 4:10 pm Quintara and 26th Avenue Off-Duty Lieutenant Jason Cherniss was walking in the neighborhood when he spotted two suspects defacing a newly cemented sidewalk. He called the police with Sgt. Robert Bohanan, Officers Matthew Parra, Buddy Siguido, Henry Ha, Benny Lew and Carmen Batan responding to the scene. Sgt. Bohanan captured both suspects on 27th Avenue. The suspects, who live on the 200 block of Bright and the 200 block of Brookdale, were cited for malicious mischief. ARRESTS: 03/12/09 9:50 pm 2100 block of 22nd Avenue Captain Richard Corriea of Richmond Station informed Officers Troy Carrasco and Michele Martinez of Richmond Station that a suspect was wanted for vehicular manslaughter and domestic violence. The officers worked with Taraval officers Scott Biggs and Chris Oshita in locating the suspect on the 2100 block of 22nd Avenue. The suspect, who lives on the 1100 block of Howard, was arrested on the warrant without incident. Case # /17/09 5:04 am Holloway and 19th Avenue Officers Jennifer Fiorello and Timothy Whatley stopped a vehicle for an equipment violation. The driver, who lives in Oakland, was unlicensed. He was cited and his 1996 Ford was towed. Case # /17/09 11:04 am 300 block of Rivera 9

10 Captain Paul Chignell was conducting surveillance on a notorious address on the 300 block of Rivera Street. He observed a man acting suspiciously in and around a van parked outside the residence. A computer check revealed that the license plates on the van, a Chevrolet, belonged on a Pontiac. Before the Captain could confront the driver, he walked briskly into the residence. The Captain coaxed the man out of the residence and detained him. The man gave conflicting information as to his identity and was sweating profusely. Officers Jerry King, Fred Kwan, Neil Fanene, Charles Chan, Jennifer Granucci and Sgt. Steve Quon arrived to assist. The suspect finally admitted his identity and was found to have a drug and violation of probation warrant from San Mateo County. The resident of the 1800 block of Burrows was arrested on the warrant and for felony vehicular registration fraud. Case # /17/09 11:48 am 24th Avenue and Lawton Officers Joseph Everson and Francis Feliciano stopped a vehicle for a cell phone violation. The driver, who lives in Modesto, was driving with a suspended license and was uninsured. He was cited and his 2003 Infiniti was towed. Case # /17/09 3:00 pm 200 block of Broad Officers Chris Oshita and Scott Biggs spotted a wanted suspect walking down the street. The resident of the area was arrested on a driving with a suspended license warrant. Case # /17/09 4:10 pm 3000 block of San Jose Officers Matthew Parra and Buddy Siguido went to a 7-11 store and received a report of a shoplifter who had left the store. The officers located the suspect, who lives on the 400 block of Lakeview and arrested him for felony 10

11 theft (he has prior convictions), possession of a concealed knife and a parole violation. Case # /17/09 10:10 pm 1300 block of 20th Avenue Officers Thomas Chu and Meaghan McMilton went to an address on the 1300 block of 20th Avenue where a man had beaten his girlfriend about the face causing injury and bleeding. The suspect was arrested for domestic violence and felony assault. Case # /17/09 11:17 pm 1200 block of Noriega Officer Alan Lamb stopped a vehicle for a registration violation. The driver, who lives in Brisbane, was driving with a suspended license. A search of the vehicle prior to calling for a tow truck revealed suspected methamphetamine. The suspect was arrested on drug charges and his 2000 Honda was towed. 15 03/18/09 1:26 am 1800 block of Ocean Officers John Shanhan, Kevin Mannix, Jarome Winesberry and Michael Ferraresi went to a fitness center on Ocean avenue where staff was reporting a man taking a shower in the women's area. The officers located the trespasser and cited the resident of the 1700 block of Sunnydale and escorted him off of the premises. Case # /18/09 1:45 am 900 block of Irving Officers Alan Lamb and Matthew Sullivan responded to a residence on the 900 block of Irving where a man had struck his wife on the side of the head after a dispute over finances. The officers cited the man for assault. Case # /18/09 6:15 am 1300 block of 19th Avenue Sgt. Steve Quon, Officer Chris Oshita and Officer Scott Biggs made contact with a fugitive at her address on 19th Avenue and arrested her for a felony assault warrant. Case # /18/09 7:00 am 1200 block of Judah Officers Scott Biggs and Chris Oshita went to a residence on the 1200 block of Judah and arrested a fugitive on a drug arrest warrant. Case # /18/09 8:30 am 1700 block of Vicente Sgt. Steve Quon, Officer Chris Oshita and Officer Scott Biggs went to an address on the 1700 block of Vicente and arrested a resident for a drunk driving warrant. 16 Officers Gregory Pak and Khang Do went to Nordstrom where security was holding a suspect. The suspect had entered the store with two large empty bags, had filled the bags with stolen goods, exited the store, and then fought violently with security before being subdued. The suspect, who lives on the 1000 block of Tompkins, was arrested for robbery. Case # /18/09 2:35 pm 3200 block of 20th Avenue Officers Carmen Batan and Rodrigo Labson went to Macy's where a repetitive shoplifter was detained by security. The suspect, who lives on the 1700 block of Diamond, was arrested for felony theft, burglary, possession of burglar tools and a parole violation. Case # /18/09 5:30 pm 1900 block of Irving Sgt. Henry Woo and Officer Rodrigo Labson were flagged down by an employee of a supermarket on the 1900 block of Irving who stated that two suspects had come into the store and had tried to pass obviously counterfeit money. The suspects left the store but the officers located them on the 1200 block of 19th Avenue. One suspect violently resisted arrest but was subdued. The suspects, who live on the 500 block of Oak Park, were arrested for two felonies and counterfeit money was confiscated. Case # /18/09 5:40 pm Farallones and Plymouth Officers Thomas Chu and Meaghan McMilton stopped a driver as a result of a traffic accident. The driver, who lives in Daly City, was driving with a suspended license and was uninsured. He was cited and his 1991 Honda was towed. Case # /18/09 6:00 pm 45th Avenue and Moraga 16

17 Officers Chris Oshita and Scott Biggs were working in plainclothes patrol when they spotted a known felon working on a motorcycle on the street. The suspect was removing parts from the vehicle. The officers stopped and checked the motorcycle, finding it stolen. The suspect, who lives on the 1600 block of 45th Avenue, was arrested for auto tampering, auto theft, receiving stolen property and possession of burglar tools. Case # /18/09 8:15 pm Sunset and Taraval Officer Christina Pena observed a driver swerving from lane to lane. When she stopped the driver, who lives on the 1500 block of 34th Avenue, she found that he was unlicensed. He was cited and his 2000 Mercedes was towed. Case # /18/09 8:40 pm Brotherhood and Arch Officers Gregg Gotelli, Jose Guardado and Duane Elzey observed a suspect emerge from a wooded area and then dart across Brotherhood Way. They stopped the resident of the 100 block of Bright and found him in possession of suspected crack cocaine and wanted on a misdemeanor warrant. Case # /18/09 9:00 pm 20th Avenue and Vicente Officers Duane Elzey, Jose Guardado and Gregg Gotelli stopped a vehicle for a stop sign violation. They recognized that the man was inebriated. Officers Justin Erb and Juan Gala arrived to assist. The latter officers administered field sobriety and chemical tests, all of which the driver failed. The resident of the 100 block of Richland was arrested for drunk driving. Case #

21 ARRESTS: Taraval Police Station 03/19/09 2:27 am 39th Avenue and Noriega Sgt. Jody Kato stopped a vehicle for speeding. The driver, who lives on the 1700 block of 21st Avenue, was driving with a suspended license. He was cited and his 1997 Lexus was towed. Case # /19/09 1:18 pm 600 block of Brotherhood Officers Ronald Choy and Khang Do stopped a vehicle for an equipment violation. The driver, who lives on the 700 block of Delta, was in possession of marijuana. He was cited. Case # /19/09 2:25 pm 200 block of Arch Officer Sam Martin spotted a stolen car being driven by a suspect in the 19th Avenue and Junipero Serra area. The driver failed to heed the red light and siren and a pursuit was begun by Officer Martin. He pursued the vehicle into Daly City and then back onto Highway 280 to San Francisco. At the Alemany exit the pursuit was cancelled due to safety concerns. Shortly thereafter, Officers Gregg Gotelli, Gregory Pak, Duane Elzey and Justin Erb spotted the vehicle crashed against a fence near Sagamore with the driver exiting the vehicle. The officers yelled for the suspect to stop but his response was to scale the fence and run away. The officers chased the suspect on foot with Officers Elzey and Erb tackling the suspect and subduing him. The suspect, who lives in Pacifica, and has multiple arrests for auto theft and is on probation for auto theft, was arrested on a multiitude of charges. 22 Officers Christina Pena and Patrice Scanlan went to the Claire's store in Stonestown and admonished two 11 year old shoplifters who live on the 1000 block of Palou and the First block of Roblee. Case # /19/09 4:00 pm 24th Avenue and Noriega Officers David Goff and Chris Oshita stopped a vehicle for a stop sign violation. The officers noticed a strong aroma of marijuana in the vehicle. They then found a large amount of marijuana packaged for sale as well as other evidence of trafficking. The resident of the 100 block of Sussex was arrested on possession of marijuana for sale charges. Case # /19/09 7:39 pm Vernon and Randolph Officers Buddy Siguido and Matthew Parra stopped a vehicle for an equipment violation. The driver, who lives on the 100 block of Vernon, was unlicensed. He was cited and his 1996 Dodge was towed. 24 1500 block of 33rd Avenue Found 16 year old girl Members of the Taraval Police Station Mourn the Murders of Oakland Police Officers Mark Dunakin, John Hege, Daniel Sakai and Ervin Romans. ARRESTS: 03/20/09 1:41 am First block of Harold Officers Peterkent DeJesus and Jeffrey Fortuno went to a group home on the first block of Harold where a juvenile was out of control and threatening staff members with a cane. The suspect was arrested for criminal threats and taken to the Juvenile Justice Center. Case # /20/09 8:17 am First block of Sadowa Officers Jamie Hyun and Brian Stansbury were dispatched to a report of a suspicious man. They located the man leaning against a garage door. A check revealed that the man was on probation for burglary and was subject to a warrantless search. A search revealed narcotics paraphernalia. A further search revealed a camera. In looking at photos in the camera, the officers saw a photo of a vehicle with a particular license number. They contacted the owner of the vehicle and found that the owner had been the victim of a recent auto burglary where the camera had been taken. The officers arrested the suspect, who lives on the 200 block of Lakeview, for receiving stolen 24

25 property, possession of narcotics paraphernalia and a probation violation. Case # /20/09 8:55 am Ocean and Faxon Officer Thomas Lovrin stopped a vehicle for an equipment violation. The driver, who lives on the 4100 block of Mission, was unlicensed. He was cited and his 1999 Toyota was towed. Case # /20/09 10:00 am 1400 block of 47th Avenue Officers Rolando Escobar and Jessica Nantroup went to an address on 47th avenue where a couple had been arguing over their parents. The man had struck the woman and pushed her to the ground, injuring her. The suspect was arrested for domestic violence. Case # /20/09 11:16 am Portola and Junipero Serra Officers Michael Ross, Ron Meyer and David Goff encountered an aggressive panhandler. The suspect, who has no permanent local address, was cited for panhandling and for possession of narcotics paraphernalia. Case # /20/09 12:55 pm Harold and Holloway Officers Jose Guardado, Gregory Pak and Juan Gala stopped a man who they knew was wanted. The resident of Vallejo was arrested on a warrant from Solano County for malicious mischief. Case # /20/09 1:22 pm Plymouth and Ocean The same group of officers were consulting with Officers Duane Elzey and Justin Erb when they spotted a passenger in a vehicle who they recognized 25

26 as being wanted. The officers arrested the resident of the 200 block of Perine for a narcotics warrant from San Francisco and a no bail domestic violence warrant from Contra Costa County. Case # /20/09 2:20 pm 3000 block of Santiago Officers Ron Meyer, David Goff, Michael Ross, Michael Mitchell and David Almaguer responded to a fist fight between two individuals in the street. Two suspects, who live on the 1200 block of 36th Avenue and the 1300 block of 18th Avenue, were admonished.
