Young Lane San Francisco, Ca Telephone A traffic calming meeting for Lippard neighbors will be held Monday, August 28th at 7:00 pm at Glen Park Elementary School. ARRESTS: 08/25/06 5:20 pm Mission and Ocean Officer Craig Wilson stopped a vehicle for no front license plate. The driver, who lives in Daly City, was unlicensed. He was cited and his 1994 GMC was towed. Case # /25/06 6:00 pm Mansell and Visitacion Lieutenant Michael Slade stopped a vehicle for a stop sign violation. The driver, who lives on the 100 block of Delta, was unlicensed. He was cited and his 1996 Honda was towed. Case # /25/06 8:07 pm 400 block of Chenery Officers Daniel Silver, Craig Tiffe and Shawn Fulgado responded to the 400 block of Cherney where a fire had been deliberately set engulfing an entire area of a building. The officers assisted the Fire Department with traffic control and took a naked man into custody, who based upon all of the information gleaned from family members and witnesses, had set the fire. The suspect, who lives in the building, was booked for arson. Case # /25/06 10:48 pm Geneva and Carter Officers Josh Kumli, Andy Cox and Dan Gibbs were working in plainclothes and under my direction were conducting surveillance of a residence on the 100 block of Sears, a residence where numerous neighbors had advised was the scene of constant criminal activity and where Ingleside officers had made recent arrests. The officers observed a vehicle pull up in front of the house with three occupants in the vehicle. The suspects entered the
2 residence and then left shortly thereafter in the vehicle. The officers followed the vehicle as it made unsafe lane changes. Sgt. Tim Plyer stopped the vehicle at Geneva and Carter. The officers determined that one of the suspects was on active parole from Solano County. A search of the vehicle revealed suspected methamphetamine, narcotics paraphernalia and a replica handgun. Three suspects, from Suisun, Daly City and South San Francisco, were arrested on narcotics, traffic and parole violations. 4 Detail will be honored at 11:00 am in the Police Commission hearing room for achieving 50 years of service with the San Francisco Police Department. Breaking news on Tuesday, August 29th at 1:30 pm---vice officers are currently at a notorious house on the 100 block of Sears investigating a gambling operation. This is an ongoing effort in response to community complaints. ARRESTS: 08/26/06 1:18 pm Joost and Baden A resident of the 200 block of Joost parked and locked his vehicle at Joost and Baden. A neighbor heard noises and looked out his window and saw two suspects inside the vehicle working under the dashboard. The neighbor called 911 and officers Kevin Lundy, Chris Anderson and Robert Toomey along with Sgt. John Burke responded to the scene. When the suspects saw a marked police car arrive they fled on foot. The officers began an immediate search of the area. Officers Chris Anderson and Robert Toomey searched a stairwell near the Sunnyside Conservatory and found one of the suspects sitting on some stairs. A second suspect was hiding in nearby bushes and ran away down to Monterey Boulevard. The second suspect escaped into the night but the neighbor positively identified the suspect arrested by the officers as one of the auto burglars. The suspect, who lives on the 300 block of Valencia, was booked on auto burglary and attempted auto theft charges. Case # /26/06 8:46 am 50 Phelan City College Police cited a resident of the 100 block of Golden Gate for trespassing at the college and refusing to leave a classroom. Case # /26/06 4:08 pm 4950 Mission Officers Clodagh Coles and Hurwitz went to the Safeway Store at 4950 Mission street and arrested a suspect with no permanent local address for theft for shopifting items into a backpack. The suspect was arrested on a felony as he had a prior theft conviction. Case # /26/06 6:00 pm Cesar Chavez and Folsom
5 A suspect was following a victim on Cesar Chavez and Folsom and acting very strangley. When Officer Salvador Perez and Renee Pagano detained the suspect at Precita Park he bolted from them and ran away. Officers Dan Silver and Wayman Young arrived to assist and stopped the suspect at Coso and Precita. The suspect, who lives on the 3100 block of Mission, was wanted on a drug warrant. Case # /26/06 6:13 pm First block of Blythdale Officers Craig Tiffe and Eric Reboli were advised at the start of their shift that a suspect who loiters in the Sunnydale Housing was wanted on a no bail parole violation and also f threats, domestic violence, burglary and felony assault. They spotted the suspect on the first block of Blythdale and with the assistance of Officers Jason Acosta and Mike Peregoy arrested the suspect. The resident of the 200 block of Parque was also in possession of suspected crack cocaine. Case # /26/06 11:00 pm Mission and Laura Officer Craig Wilson stopped a vehicle for failing to yield to a pedestrian. The driver, who lives in South San Francisco, was driving with a suspended license. He was cited and his 1994 Ford was towed. Case # /26/06 11:41 pm Garrison and Rey Officer Jason Acosta and Sgt. John Burke stopped a number of loiterers at Garrison and Rey. They located one suspect, who lives on the 100 block of Garrison, who was wanted on a theft and narcotics warrant from Contra Costa County. Young Lane San Francisco, Ca Telephone ARRESTS: 08/27/06 5:30 am 400 block of Monterey Officers Wendy Frisk and Sophal Chea went to the 400 block of Monterey where a habitual stalker and domestic violence suspect had made contact with his victim. The officers arrested the suspect, with no permanent local address, for violating a restriaining order. Case # /27/06 1:23 pm 100 block of Oxford Officers Daniel Kroos, Rosalyn Rouede, Valerie Altamirano, Andy Cox, Mark Monpas. Steve Ferraz and Yessie Brandt went to the 100 block of Oxford where two roommates had battered each other. Both were cited for the misdemeanor offense. Case # /27/06 2:27 pm Ocean and Howth City College Police stopped a vehicle for a red light violation. The driver, who lives in Hayward, was driving with a suspended license. 8 08/27/06 2:45 pm Brazil and Mission Officer Steve Ferraz stopped a vehicle for a red light violation. The driver, who lives on the 100 block of Hahn, was unlicensed and uninsured. He was cited and his 1991 Toyota was towed. Case # /27/06 6:06 pm 2900 block of Diamond A man was on the BART train with a laptop computer in a case next to him. As the train stopped at the Glen Park Bart station, a suspect grabbed the laptop and fled out onto the platform. Three other persons grabbed the victim and restrained him from chasing the thief. The victim got past the obstructors and chased the suspect out of the BART station out onto Diamond. A witness saw the chase and flagged down a passing patrol car with Officers Dan Silver and Wayman Young. The officers then followed the chase to Lyell where they found the victim. The victim had caught up to the suspect and retrieved his laptop. The suspect continued running away on foot. The officers obtained a detailed description of the suspect and spotted him ascending some stairs to Mission Street near Still street. Sgt. Michelle Jean arrived on the scene and went to the top of the stairs. The officers then arrested the suspect, who lives in Richmond. The victim positively identified the suspect as the perpetrator. Case # /27/06 7:00 pm San Jose and Ocean Officers Daniel Kroos, Valerie Altamirano and Rosalyn Rouede stopped a vehicle for an equipment violation. The driver, who lives on the 500 block of Capitol, was unlicensed and uninsured. He was cited and his 1996 Ford was towed. Case # /27/06 8:30 pm 100 block of Addison A married couple living on the 100 block of Addison started arguing in front of their 4 year old child. The argument escalated into a physical confrontation where the husband threatened to kill his wife, strangled her and threw her against a wall. He then started twisting her feet to the point where she felt a cracking sound and thought her toes would break. The suspect fled the premises. Officers Shawn Phillips, Clodagh Coles and Lieutenant Donna Meixner responded to the scene and interviewed the victim. Shortly thereafter, Officer Phillips spotted the suspect walking down Addison Street. He was taken into custody and arrested on numerous felonies. 9 Perez, Julian Hermosura, and Richard Trujillo went to the 500 block of Huron where a deranged woman had attempted to stab her husband with a knife and then with scissors and had locked herself in a bathroom with her 2 year old daughter. The officers entered the residence and Officers Richard Trujillo and Salvador Perez observed the woman standing in the kitchen. When she saw the officers, she ran to a bedroom but was taken into custody. The suspect was arrested on four felony charges. Young Lane San Francisco, Ca Telephone ARRESTS: 08/28/06 1:40 am Banks and Tompkins Officers Michael Wibsunsin, Robert Trujillo, Salvador Perez and Sgt. John Burke went to Banks and Tompkins on a report of a fight in the street. The officers found one subject, who lives on the 900 block of Howard, in possession of a hammer---he was admonished and released. Another subject, a juvenile runaway from Rohnert Park, was returned to her mother. Case # /28/06 1:15 pm City College City College Police cited a resident of the 1300 block of 48th avenue for being in a classroom as an unregistered student after refusing to leave. The suspect had previously been expelled from the school. Case # /28/06 3:27 pm Concord and Cross/100 block of Sears Officers Josh Kumli, Andy Cox and Dan Gibbs were conducting surveillance of an address on the 100 block of Sears due to numerous community complaints of drug dealing, gambling, loitering, traffic violations and noise. This is also a location of prior felony arrests in recent days. The officers observed a vehicle parked in front of the residence that they knew had been
11 previously driven by a wanted suspect. The suspect returned to the vehicle and followed to Concord and Cross where Sgt. Tim Plyer stopped the vehicle and took the Daly City resident into custody on a malicious mischief warrant. A search of the suspect revealed suspected methamphetamine and narcotics paraphernalia. The suspect was booked on three charges. Case # /28/06 4:00 pm 100 block of Blythdale Officers Victor Hui, Mike Androvich and Mark Monpas were on foot patrol in the 100 block of Blythdale when they observed numerous suspected gang members loitering. The officers then saw one of the suspects start to rapidly walk away. Officer Monpas followed the suspect at which time the suspect ran towards Brookdale and Santos and then to Hahn with the officer in pursuit. The suspect went out of view but two citizens stated that he had gone into a residence on the 1500 block of Sunnydale. Officers Goldsborough joined the other three officers and knocked on the door. A person allowed the officers to enter and the suspect was found hiding in a locked bathroom. The suspect, who has no permanent local address, was arrested for a no bail parole warrant as well as a warrant for narcotics sales and assault. Case # /28/06 4:25 pm Sickles and Alemany Officer Rosalyn Rouede stopped a vehicle after an accident. The driver, who lives in Hayward, was unlicensed and uninsured. He was cited and his 1997 Toyota was towed. Case # /28/06 5:45 pm Brazil and Mission Officers Carmen Barroeta and Shawn Phillips stopped a vehicle as a child was not properly in a safety seat. The driver, a resident of the 800 block of Capp, was unlicensed and uninsured. She was cited and her 1986 Plymouth was towed. Case # /28/06 6:16 pm Paris and Brazil Officer Shawn Phillips stopped a vehicle for a stop sign violation. The driver, who lives on the first block of Santos, was driving with a suspended license. Tim Plyer as well as Officers Eric Reboli, Daniel Kroos, Gerald Thompson, Peterkent DeJesus, Valerie Altamirano and Craig Tiffe went to the
12 100 block of Paris on a report of a person with a gun, possibly pellet type, trying to sell it. The officers stopped a number of individuals but no gun was found. One of the detainees, who lives on the 200 block of Morse, was wanted on a warrant charging assault and resisting arrest. Young Lane San Francisco, Ca Telephone ARRESTS: 08/29/06 9:15 am City College City College Police stopped a vehicle at Ocean and Howth for a turn violation. The driver, who lives on the first block of Lucky, was driving with a suspended license and was uninsured. He was cited and his 1990 Chevrolet was towed. Case # /29/06 9:57 am 4600 block of Mission Officers Steven Ferraz and Bud Massey went to a bank on the 4600 block of Mission street where a woman was trying to forge a stolen check. The officers arrived and took the suspect, who lives on the 100 block of Colby, into custody on burglary and forgery charges. Case # /29/06 4:57 pm Valley and Church Sgt. Tim Plyer went to Valley and Church on a report of a drunken man threatening passersby with a screwdriver. The sergeant found the suspect and arrested him for drunk and for an assault warrant. 16 1500 block of Sunnydale Restraining Order Violation 1900 block of Sunnydale Breaking Windows 134 Vienna Stolen 1991 Toyota 200 block of Vienna Threats Captain Paul C. Chignell Commanding Officer Ingleside Police Station #1 John V. Young Lane San Francisco, Ca Telephone On Sunday, August 27th at 10:00 pm a suspect shot two people dead at the corner of Thornton and Flora in the Bayview Police District. When Bayview officers arrived, one suspect started shooting at the two officers. Officer Fowler returned fire killing the suspect. Ingleside police officers Mike Peregoy, Shawn Phillips, Jason Acosta and Dan Silver assisted in taking the second suspect into custody. 2. The recent disappearance of a five month old baby resulted in tragedy. In the early morning hours of August 30th, the remains were found in McLaren Park, off a trail one half mile from Visitacion Valley Middle School. The father has been arrested in the case. ARRESTS: 08/30/06 8:43 am Mission and College Officer Jude Rand stopped a vehicle for a seat belt violation. The driver, who lives in Daly City, was unlicensed. He was cited and his 1992 Pontiac was towed. Case # /30/06 8:55 am 100 block of Phelan City College Police went to a road rage incident near campus where two
17 persons had stopped their vehicles. One suspect, who lives on the 500 block of Rolph, had beaten the victim about the head. The suspect was cited for battery. Case # /30/06 9:14 am 100 block of Lippard Officers Michael Walsh and Kathrine Holder went to Glen park school on a report of a person sleeping on the grounds. They arrested a suspect with no permanent local address on a forgery warrant from Daly City. Case # /30/06 2:33 pm City College City College police arrested a suspect who had stolen items previously from two victims as the property was on her person. The suspect, who lives on the 1900 block of Quint, also had a no bail juvenile warrant for burglary. Case # /30/06 4:30 pm Geneva and San Jose City College police had previously arrested a juvenile for theft, a warrant and for being a runaway. During the course of that investigation, they determined that the juvenile had been having a sexual relationship with a 43 year old suspect. The officers set up a meet through a ruse at the Balboa Bart Station and stopped the suspect in his car. The suspect, who lives in El Sobrante, was found to be in possession of heroin, was driving with a suspended license and had stolen property. He was arrested on numerous charges and his 1994 Chevrolet was towed. Case # /30/06 5:06 pm Santos and Geneva Sgt. Tim Plyer stopped a vehicle for fraudulent registration. The driver, a resident of Huntington avenue, was cited and his 1989 Toyota was towed. Case # /30/06 5:06 pm 100 block of Lisbon Officer Amy Hurwitz and Sgt. Michelle Jean were working plainclothes when they responded to the 100 block of Lisbon on a report of a suspicious vehicle with numerous occupants. When they arrived, they determined that the occupants were smoking marijuana. After a lengthy investigation and search, the officers found a large quantity of cocaine and methamphetamine. One suspect, from Belmont, was arrested on numerous felonies. A second suspect, a juvenile, who lives on the 900 block of Cayuga, was cited for posssession of narcotics. Case #
18 08/30/06 5:21 pm 4700 block of Mission Officers Angelina Sanchez and Michael Wibunsin observed two persons loitering and drinking alcohol on the 4700 block of Mission. Both suspects were arrested as they had no identification. One refused his address and the other lives on Lucky Street. He was unlucky. Case # /30/06 6:49 pm Crescent and Alemany Officer Carmen Barroeta stopped a vehicle for a red light violation. The driver, who lives in Oakland, was unlicensed and uninsured. He was cited and his 1991 Ford was towed. Case # /30/06 8:00 pm Crescent and Ellsworth Sgt. Jennifer Jackson stopped a vehicle for a stop sign violation. The driver, who lives on Kingston, was unlicensed. She was cited and her 1991 Lexus was towed. Case # /30/06 8:31 pm 4800 block of Mission Officers Michael Wibunsin and Angelina Sanchez were working plainclothes on the 4800 block of Mission when they spotted a suspect whom they knew from a previous arrest. When the suspect saw the officers, he took off quickly in another direction. As the officers pursued the suspect, the suspect appeared to be hiding something in his left jacket pocket. The officers caught up to the suspect on Onondaga and saw that he was extremely nervous and holding onto the left side of his body. A search by the officers revealed a fully loaded.357 caliber revolver. The resident of Daly City was arrested on three gun charges. This was outstanding police work by two fine officers. Case # /31/06 5:00 pm 100 block of Highland Officers Andrea Calahane and Wendy Bear went to a residence on the 100 block of Highland where a man had strangled his girlfriend and ripped the phone out of the wall. The suspect was arrested on two felonies. Case # /31/06 9:16 pm Mission and Randall Officer Wendy Bear stopped a vehicle for a registration violation. The driver, who lives on the 300 block of Madrid, was unlicensed and uninsured. He was cited and his 1991 Toyota was towed. Case # /31/06 11:30 pm 3200 block of Folsom Officers Michael Brown and Oscar Padilla went to a residence on the 3200 block of Folsom where a repetitive domestic violence suspect had strangled his girlfriend and then beaten her severely about the face. The officers arrested the suspect as he was walking away down the street. The suspect was on probation for domestic violence, and had warrants for burglary, felony assault and other charges. Case #
