Intrductin It is the missin f the City f Beavercreek Department f Parks, Recreatin & Culture t preserve natural areas, t prmte health and wellness, t prvide quality leisure pprtunities and t increase cultural awareness fr the benefit f the Beavercreek Cmmunity. The Department manages nearly 300 acres f public parks. The staff is supplemented during the grwing seasn with seasnal emplyees. T prvide the athletic and leisure educatin pprtunities, ne Recreatin Prgram Supervisr plans, crdinates, staffs and supervises hundreds f leisure pprtunities and special events and versees the Beavercreek Senir Center. A Senir Center Supervisr manages the peratin f the Senir Adult Center, including facility management, prgrams and transprtatin. The Senir Center Supervisr als versees tw additinal full time staff member and hundreds f vlunteers. The Directr f Glf Curse peratins versees the fd and beverage, glf curse maintenance and the pr shp. The Superintendent wrks with numerus bards, vlunteer rganizatins and individuals, cntractrs, businesses and cmmittees in additin t managing the daily peratin f the Department. Are bunce huses allwed with a shelter reservatin? a. Bunce huses are allwed as lng as the patrn submits a $1,000,000 general liability insurance plicy with the City f Beavercreek listed as an additinal insured. Dminick Lfin and Rtary Park shelters have electric, but EJ Nutter and Shup d nt. 11. When d shelter reservatins begin? a. Patrns can begin reserving shelters n the first business day f the year. Park staff pen all parks in the mrning by 7:30am; Citizens On Preventable Patrl (COPP) clses the gates at CI Beaver, EJ Nutter and Shup Parks at dark. The Sheriff s department is respnsible fr clsing Rtary Park since Rtary is in the Twnship and cvered by the Sheriff s department and nt City Plice; City staff pens Rtary Park. Shelters are available t reserve free f charge at the fllwing parks: Dminick Lfin, EJ Nutter, Rtary and Shup. The smaller neighbrhd parks with shelters are available n a first cme first serve basis, n reservatins will be taken; this is due t lack f parking at the facilities. Shelters are available year rund, Mnday thrugh Sunday, dawn t dusk. Even thugh shelters are free, patrns are asked t make a reservatin with ur ffice. Organizatins are asked nt t reserve any given shelter fr n mre than three (3) cnsecutive dates, ex every Sunday in the summer. Shelter cntract & permit frm is under Appendix 1. b. Prt lets are placed in Rtary Park (April 1 Octber 31), Lfin Park (Nvember 1 March 31), Nutter Park (April 1 Octber 31), Fifth Third Gateway (1 year rund and 1 April 1 Nv 1) and Shup Park (April 1 Nv 1) fr the use by patrns. There is a handicapped unit at each lcatin. Placement and remval f prt lets are weather dependent. (Appendix 34) c. Flush Restrms at Beavercreek Statin are pen year rund. Rtary and Lfin Parks have indr restrm facilities which pen early April r whenever the weather is warm enugh that pipes will nt freeze. Facilities There are 23 parks in the City f Beavercreek park system. Parks range in size frm less than 1 acre t 72 acres, with ver 300 acres t maintain. Many parks have yet t be develped and are pen spaces. Alpha Mill (751 Alpha Rd) is a histric building in the riginal village f Alpha, just suth f Creekside Trail. It nce milled a variety f grains. Still standing is the Mill and the ffice, nw used as a museum. The scales can still be seen utside the ffice. The museum is pen during the summer mnths n a limited weekend schedule by the members f the Alpha Landmark and Preservatin Histrical Assciatin. The exterir f bth buildings can be seen frm the rad and frm the bike trail. 12 Ankeney (Jhn) Sprts Cmplex, Orchard Lane. This 60+ acre cmplex is hst t the Beavercreek Sccer Assciatin (BSA) as their primary playing fields; the park is used in the spring, summer and fall. BSA wns tw-thirds f the present fields. It is maintained by BSA and has 41 sccer fields. The City adult sccer league plays at Ankeney sprts cmplex. 25 acres are wned by the City and leased t BSA n lng-term agreement. (Appendix 14) In 1999, the City prvided a new tractr fr BSA use at Ankeney sprts cmplex. (Appendix 39) In 2008, a grant was awarded frm the Ohi Department f Natural Resurces fr capital imprvement f a pass thrugh and an irrigatin system. 14 Beavercreek Statin, 1179 Nrth Fairfield Rd, is a heated cmfrt statin lcated n N. Fairfield Rd alng Creekside Trail. Beavercreek Statin is nt available fr reservatins. 16 CI Beaver Park has a hall which hsts a variety f classes and is available fr rent. The Park is 5.3 acres and is lcated at 3696 Highmnt Street. There is a small park with a playgrund and basketball curt; alng with a single trail that runs thrugh the park alng the creek prvides a scenic walk. This facility is used fr City prgrams and available fr rental. See pricing plicy fr fee structure. CI Beaver Hall may be rented free f charge by any City f Beavercreek Department fr meeting r training purpses. Recreatin classes and rentals take precedence ver departmental meetings and trainings. C.I. Beaver Hall is available fr rent year rund, Mnday Sunday, the nly exceptin being Christmas Day. The hall is available n mst hlidays as lng as there is n rental the previus day and an emplyee des nt have t cme in n a City recgnized hliday. See appendix 2 & 3 fr CI Beaver applicatin, cntract and plicies. The hall is cmpletely handicapped accessible. A full kitchen is available fr use. There are 2 rental rms at C.I. Beaver Hall: the Great Rm, which is 2400 sq feet and the Classrm, which is 437 sq feet. Maximum Occupancy fr the classrm is 62 per fire cde, we set it at 60 (chairs nly); fr tables and chairs we can have 29, but ur divisin set it fr 25. Fr the great rm, per fire cde we can have 342 with chairs nly and 160 tables and chairs. We have each at 340 and 130 respectively. Occupancy signs can be fund in appendix 48. City spnsred classes and prgrams can be held at the same time in these 2 rms. There cannt be 2 rentals in the facility at the same time if thse times verlap. Rentals in the classrm are nly Mnday Friday frm 8am 11pm. There als cannt be a rental at the same time as a class. Alchl is prhibited unless renters have a liqur liability insurance waiver. (Appendix 51) Each year the fllwing dates will be clsed t reservatins. If anyne asks fr these dates, ur respnse is that the date is nt available. 19 Cinnamn Ridge Park, 4070 Willw Run Dr. Overlking the valley t the west f the City, this acre park is naturally wded and very scenic. It is at present undevelped. The three entrances are unmarked at present, but are lcated nrth f 3990 Willw Run Dr and suth f the cndminiums; between 4228 and 4218 East Straight Arrw Rd; and between 4066 and 4076 Willw Run Dr. Additinal access t and parking fr the park can be made frm the end f Straight Arrw Rd., just ff Willw Run Dr. The park runs nrth frm the parking lt. Frm the new Meadws f Beavercreek Develpment, pedestrian access can be made at 570 Plattner Trail where it intersects with Lngmeadw Lane. Facilities Binder Page 19

21 Creekside Trail is acres; 10.6 mile trail, 4.9 miles f the paved bike path is in the City f Beavercreek. This linear park stretches frm Mntgmery Cunty t dwntwn Xenia. It is designed fr bikers, walkers, jggers and skaters. It is a 12 wide, paved facility with access at many pints. The City wns nly the prtin within the City limits; the ther prtins are wned by Beavercreek Twnship, Xenia Twnship, Greene Cunty, and the City f Xenia. Frm Xenia, additinal trails g nrth t Clark Cunty and suth t Lebann. In Mntgmery Cunty, access is t Eastwd Park and beynd. There is a secndary trail nrth frm Girl Scut Park t Rtary Park. In Beavercreek yu can park at Fifth Third Gateway Park and E.J. Nutter Park. Additinal parking is available at the Twnship s Beavercreek Cmmunity Park (hme t the Girl Scut Memrial) n Factry Rad. All f these facilities feature restrms and water. There are als a cuple f parking spaces in dwntwn Alpha and at Grange Hall Rd. There is biking access frm Train-Vu, Nrth Fairfield Rd, Geneva St and Factry Rad. Yu can find the map in Appendix 11. Greene Cunty Parks Department manages the trail, prviding maintenance and patrlling. N mtrized vehicles are permitted n the trail. There is an amphitheatre that verlks the lake which hsts summer cncerts, 7 acre catch and release fishing lake, 4 tennis curts, Skate Park and reservable shelter huse which seats peple. There is electricity t the shelter with 8 utlets, 20 amps each. 2 brick charcal grills are als available. A series f trails g thrugh the nrth wds and thrugh the suth wds f the Park. Three utlets and 2 separate 20 amp circuit breakers are available n the stage fr perfrmances. (Appendix 8) A paved, walk path circles the lake (the path is just under.5 miles). 27 EJ Nutter Park, 865 Factry Dr, is 24.6 acres. This park was a gift f the late philanthrpist and entrepreneur Ervin J. Nutter. This park has 5 baseball diamnds, is hme t the Beavercreek Cmmunity Athletic Assciatin (BCAA) and is parallel t Creekside trail. The park als has a playgrund structure and a reservable picnic shelter which hlds peple. There are 4 charcal grills available; there is n electricity in the shelter. This park has many wetland features. BCAA uses these fields fr their baseball seasn; alng with the Beavercreek High Schl freshmen baseball team. BCAA maintains the infields while the City mws the utfields. 30 Fifth Third Gateway Park & Ride, 4231 Daytn-Xenia Rd, is a 1 acre park and ride lt. This gives biker s access t Creekside Trail. It is lcated where I-675, US35 and Daytn-Xenia Rd meet. The park features a small gazeb, bike rack, water funtain, vending machines and a paved parking lt fr 30 vehicles. There is unpaved parking fr 30 additinal vehicles. A prtable rest rm facility is maintained all year at this site. Abut half f the funding was dnated by Fifth Third Bank; there are a number f memrials thrughut the park. Girl Scut Trp 739 has adpted five flwer beds at the Park. Beavercreek Sccer Assciatin uses the 2 larger fields (200 x 300). See appendix 13 agreement infrmatin. Greene Cunty Csms (a recreatinal yuth sccer league) typically uses the 2 smaller fields (118 x 176 and 136 x 220). When sccer is nt in seasn, these fields are in the utfield f ur T-ball Diamnds. The City f Beavercreek runs a T-Ball & Cach Pitch league thrugh an utside rganizatin (either Jump Start Sprts r Skyhawks Sprts Academy). There are 4 diamnds set up t play ball n. T-ball starts in June after the sccer seasn is cmplete. There is electricity in the crner f field #1 (by the flag ple) fr perfrmances. There are 8 20 amp circuits. Rtary Park als has 12 ball diamnds: 2 baseball (diamnds 9 &10) and 10 sftball. Sme f these diamnds are used and maintained by tenant rganizatin Beavercreek Sx and Beavercreek Yuth Sftball Assciatin (BYSA). These rganizatins help with the upkeep f fields; they pay the City fr fields with in kind services r a decrease in fees. Fr example, BYSA pays $25/diamnd/day when they run a turnament they maintain their infields while the City mws the utfields. BYSA is nt charged a field usage price fr their regularly scheduled practices and games; they pay fr restrm usage which is included in field reservatins. Beavercreek Sx maintains their 2 diamnds and pays nthing t the City, unless they use diamnds ther than #9 & 10. Park staff takes a light meter reading ver the Sx diamnds in the beginning f the seasn (March) and again at the end f the year (Nvember); the price is then calculated fr hurs used. BYSA lgs the amunt f hurs they use the lights ver their diamnds and pays at the end f their seasn. When turnaments are held, it is up t the turnament directr t lg the hurs and relay that infrmatin t the City fr billing. See appendix 14 fr agreements with Beavercreek Sx. The frnt 4 diamnds (1-4) are used fr the City adult sftball league and are available fr turnaments. 87 Lng Term Rentals at CI Beaver Hall A lng term cntract is defined as an individual r cmpany renting C.I. Beaver Hall fr at least six (6) dates in ne calendar year. These individuals will be given a discunt f $10 ff their best rate. Fr example, a nn-resident requesting t rent the Great Rm will pay $50/hur, receiving $10 ff the nnresident rate f $60/hur; a resident will pay $40/hur, receiving $10 ff the resident rate f $50/hur. The 4 hur rental minimum des nt apply fr lng term rentals. The classrm is nt eligible fr a discunt. Current instructrs with the City f Beavercreek Parks Department will receive the resident rental rate fr lng term rentals; n additinal discunts apply. (A current instructr is defined as an individual that has taught at least 1 class in the past 4 mnths f rental request). Payment must be made befre the start f the prgram. If rental ccurs mnthly, payment will be made in advance f each event. If rental ccurs in 6 week segments, payment will be made in advance f each ccurrence. Fr example, if the purpse f a lng term rental is t hst a class that runs fr 6 weeks, full payment must be made in advance f each sessin. If rental ccurs yearly, payment will be made n the 15 th f each mnth - prir t rental date. If an individual signs up fr 5 rentals and later adds a 6 th ; the discunt will apply n the next rental (number 7), there is n retr-discunt. Refunds fr lng term rentals: If the date is cancelled within 30 days f prgram, the renter will we 50% f the rental fee. If the cancellatin is utside f the 30 days, a full refund will be granted. If the renter wuld like t reschedule, there is n penalty. Rescheduled date must ccur within 9 mnths f cancelled date. C.I.
