2 A b u t U s Camp Westwd Hckey Prgrams run frm July 4th August 25th, Participants will be n the ice fr 3 hurs per day, every day (15 hurs per week). The Camp Westwd Hckey Prgram is fcused n giving players the pprtunity t develp their skills in an encuraging, psitive atmsphere, with a large fcus n pwer skating develpment, puck handling and shting skills, and basic fundamentals that are essential t every player. Our skilled instructrs wrk with a small grup (limit f 24 players per week) t ensure that they are able t wrk nen-ne with each player thrughut the week. The Camp Westwd Hckey Prgram als ffers player reprt cards, dry-land training, and gal-setting sessins. Participants will swim each day (weather permitting) and will have gym and utdr time fr ther activities. Please nte that while we d accept all skill levels, this is NOT a learn-t-skate camp all participants MUST be equipped with basic skating skills. G e n e r a l I n f r m a t i n Our camps began the summer f 2010 and we are currently celebrating ur eighth year f peratin. Eight weeks f hckey camp, beginning July 4th until August 25th (please see camp cdes and dates fr mre details). All camps are run in assciatin with St. Margaret s Centre (12 Westwd Blvd, Upper Tantalln, NS). Camps run frm 8:30 AM 4:30 PM. The early drp-ff begins at 7:15 AM, and late drp-ff extends until 5:45 PM, FREE f charge! Camps run fr children 5-10 years ld. We have ZERO TOLERANCE fr inapprpriate r dangerus behaviur, n and ff the ice. N electrnics are permitted during camp hurs; they will be taken until parents arrive. (This includes cell phnes, ipds/ipads, tablets, Gamebys, etc.) Registratin frms can be picked up at the St. Margaret s Centre frnt desk and can be fund n the St. Margaret s Centre website: Registratin is pen as f April 4 th, The capacity fr hckey camp is 24 children per week. IMPORTANT: UPON REGISTRATION YOU WILL RECEIVE A COPY OF THE REGISTRATION FORM, PLEASE DO NOT DISCARD THIS AS IT CAN BE USED FOR INCOME TAX PURPOSES.

3 Full gear is required this includes: Helmet (with cage) Neck-guard Elbw pads Shulder pads Jersey Glves Cup Shin pads Scks Pants Skates Stick Our instructrs will help any player that needs assistance putting n gear r needs help tying skates. If yu wuld like fr yur child s skates t be sharpened during the week, this can be dne at the SMC skate shp! (Cst f $5: please send with child). Please be sure t pack the fllwing each day: Any clthing that needs t be wrn underneath gear Sneakers and gym clthing Water bttle Flip flps, twel, bathing suit and sunscreen fr pl time Any additinal equipment needed fr ice times if necessary (tape, extra laces, etc.). Lunch & Snacks W h a t t B r i n g P a y m e n t a n d D i s c u n t s Camp Westwd ffers tw methds f payments: - Pay in full at time f registratin - Payment plan: If yu have registered fr 3 r mre weeks f camp then yu qualify fr further payment plan ptins. This includes payments being made n June 10th, July 10th and August 10th. If yu d nt register fr a camp in the mnth f August then yur payments will be shrtened t tw payments n June 10th and July 10th. If yu have any questins r wuld like mre infrmatin n this please cntact the frnt desk r the Camp Westwd Directr. Payments can be made with cash, cheque, Visa, MasterCard, r debit. If using the payment plan methd, nly Visa, MasterCard, r pst-dated cheques will be accepted. Cheques shuld be made ut t St. Margaret s Centre. DISCOUNTS: By purchasing three r mre weeks f camp, r by registering tw r mre children, yu will receive 10% ff the ttal camp price (excluding pizza Friday ttal). Discunts cannt be multiplied with multiple camps f multiple children. REFUND POLICY: Yu must cancel yur registratin THREE WEEKS prir t the week f camp that yu are requesting withdrawal frm t be eligible fr a refund (medical reasns with supprting dcumentatin are the exceptin). All refunds (depsit included) are subject t a $25 administratin fee. Once the full payment has been made, yu will receive a pink cpy f the registratin frm. Please d nt discard this as it can be used fr incme tax purpses.

4 S w i m m i n g a n d S w i m m i n g L e s s n s Campers will have the pprtunity t g swimming each day (weather permitting) at St. Margaret s Centre s utdr pl. If campers d nt wish t swim, ther activities will be rganized. In rder fr pl time t run as safe and as smth as pssible, it is imprtant t indicate the fllwing n the registratin frm: Prvide the mst recent level f swimming that yur child has successfully cmpleted. Indicate if yur child has any difficulties swimming. Indicate if yur child needs a lifejacket if ging in the pl. PLEASE PACK SUNSCREEN (with first and last name)! Lifeguards will be n duty at all times while campers are in the pl. There will be a minimum f tw cunsellrs in the pl with the campers at all times, with additinal cunsellrs supervising frm the pl deck. In rder fr a camper t be permitted t swim in the deep end, they must successfully pass ur swim test. The test will be under the discretin f the lifeguards n duty that day. If successful, the camper will receive a waterprf bracelet. Please d nt remve the bracelet until the end f the week. IF YOUR CHILD IS REGISTERED FOR SWIMMING LESSONS WITH SMC POOL DURING CAMP HOURS (8:30 AM - 4:30 PM): Please send an t campwestwd@gmail.cm with the subject heading Swim lessns fr (yur child s name and lessn time). If we d nt get cnfirmatin f this then we will presume that yu will be taking them fr their lessn. Please be aware that it may nt be t yur advantage t bk swim lessns fr yur child during hckey/figure skating camps as they may have t miss ice time t attend these lessns. L u n c h, S n a c k s a n d P i z z a F r i d a y It is the parent s respnsibility t prvide: LUNCH, SNACKS, & WATER BOTTLE. An afternn snack will be prvided by Camp Westwd each day. The snack will be peanut and nut free. Please keep in mind that St. Margaret s Centre is NOT A NUT-FREE FACILITY. Please ensure that all allergies and sensitivities are listed n the registratin frm t allw us t make the best pssible arrangements t ensure every camper s safety. PIZZA FRIDAY: Campers will have the ptin t buy int the pizza Friday prgram. Fr $5, each camper will receive a slice f pizza, treat, and a juice bx. Additinal slice: $2. Pizza is supplied frm Little J s, and there is als a GLUTEN-FREE OPTION.
