Victim states she left for work at 9:00am. After work she returned home at 5:00pm. After arriving home victim discovered forced entry into her home through the front door. The residence was ransacked and a Mink Coat, Check Book and possibly some Jewelry are missing from the residence. A Southfield Police Evidence Technician processed the residence. From: 01/18/2017 3:00pm To: 01/20/ :00am Shiawassee Rd (Residential- Apartments) Appears that the gate to storage unit was forced open. Victim states sometime between 3:00pm- 11:00am someone forced entry into victim s storage unit in the basement of Apartment Building. Several tools and a TV were taken.

3 01/21/2017 8:04pm Eight and Half Mile Rd. Entry through unlocked kitchen window. Victim states sometime between 3:00pm- 6:00pm someone gained entry into residence through unlocked kitchen window. Once inside the residence unknown suspect(s) then took an X-Box Gaming System and 3- Pairs of Designer Jeans from a back room off of the kitchen. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Citizens should never leave their windows unlocked. Two windows on garage were broken out. Victim states sometime between 8:30pm- 9:00pm someone broke out two windows on garage. Victim s snow shovel is believed to have been used to break out the windows. Doesn t appear entry was made into the garage. 4 Automobile Thefts: 01/16/2017 6:28am Date/Time Address (block range) Year, Make, Model Details W Eight Mile Rd. (Commercial- Gas Station) Status S - Stolen Manufacturer DODGE Model DURANGO Color GRY - Gray Vehicle Year 2005 Body Style 4D - 4 Door State MI License Year Description GRAY SUV Victim stated he parked his 2005 Dodge Durango at the Gas Station and left his vehicle running with the keys in the ignition and doors unlocked. Victim walked in the gas station to get a pop, walked out and his vehicle was gone. Victim made contact with the gas station manager who stated they had surveillance cameras outside the building. Review of the video showed a B/M YOA wearing a green jacket, dark hoodie, jeans, tan boots, winter hat walk over to victim s vehicle and drive off. Suspect was a B/M about 6'-0, medium build, and medium complexion and had facial hair. Manager stated he knew who the male was and believed he lived in the Southfield Towers Apartments. Officers checked for the vehicle at the Southfield Towers Apartments. Especially at a Gas Station where there is a lot of pedestrian foot traffic. 5 01/19/2017 2:32pm Galleria Officentre (Commercial- Office Center) Status S - Stolen Chevrolet Trailblazer DGR - Dark Green Vehicle Year 2002 Body Style 4D - 4 Door State MI License Year 2017 Description GREEN CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER DR R/P states he arrived at work in the Block of Galleria Officentre at 8:00am. He parked the vehicle on the west side of the building in the parking lot. At 2:00pm he returned to the vehicle and discovered somebody had stolen the vehicle. The vehicle is registered to R/P s wife. She later brought in the necessary paper work to the front desk to have the vehicle entered as stolen. 01/20/2017 7:00am Lois Ln. Status S - Stolen Manufacturer CHEVROLET Model CORVETTE Color BLU - Blue Vehicle Year 2014 Body Style 2D - 2 Door State MI License Year 2017 Description Blue 2014 Chevy Corvette 2dr pl#dnt8931 Victim states that he observed his 2014 Blue Chevy Corvette parked in his garage at 10:00pm. The following morning at 7:00am he woke up and observed his garage door open and his vehicle had been stolen. The garage door lock had been damaged and the door was kicked in.

6 01/21/2017 4:10pm Providence Dr. (Residential- Apartments) Status SR - Both Stolen And Recovered Manufacturer FORD Model LGT CONVTNL 'F' Color Vehicle Year 2005 Body Style State MI License Year Description 2005 Ford Pickup F150 Recovered Date/Time 01/21/2017 6:00pm Location 9615 Grinnel Detroit MI Victim stated that he last saw his 2005 Ford Pickup Truck around 6:00pm on 1/20/2017 parked in his carport. While attempting to enter vehicle as stolen Officer discovered vehicle was impounded by DPD from an accident. No further details. Tips: Never leave your vehicle running unattended Park in areas where your vehicle is viewable if possible Use commercially available security devices

7 Larceny: Date/Time Address (block range) Item Taken Details 01/16/2017 8:40am W Eleven Mile (Commercial- Office) Microsoft Surface Pro 3 and misc. clothing was taken from victims 2012 Subaru Impreza. Victim states sometime between 8:40am and 11:30am someone broke out window on his vehicle and took several items. Management advises they do have video of incident. (Multi Office- Second floor of parking structure) All Four Wheels & Tires were taken from 2016 Ford Explorer. Victim states sometime between 7:30am- 11:30am someone stole All Four Wheels & Tires from her 2016 Ford Explorer. The vehicle was parked on the second floor of parking structure at the Office Complex.

8 From: 01/18/2017 7:00pm To: 01/19/2017 3:20am Franklin Rd. (Hotel) Wallet with several credit cards was taken from glove box. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Citizens should never leave their wallets with credit cards in their vehicles. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Victim states he parked his car at the Hotel at 7:00pm. At 3:00am victim was alerted that there may be some fraudulent activity on one of his Bank Cards. Victim immediately went out to his vehicle where he had left his wallet and discovered the wallet was missing from the vehicle. (No forced entry) There was also two other Credit Cards in the wallet. Information on where the fraudulent activity occurred was not available at this time. 01/19/2017 2:03pm Swanson Rd. (Commercial- Travel Agency) Several vehicles had been gone through and items were taken. Workers from business observed suspect walking through parking lot pulling on several car doors. Workers went back inside business and told other employee s what was going on in the parking lot. Several employees went outside and confronted suspect. They immediately noticed that the suspect s pockets were stuffed with items. Employee s pulled the items from suspect s pockets. One employee immediately noticed that the suspect had two pairs of her sunglasses and her phone charger that were taken from her vehicle. Officers arrived on scene & suspect was taken into custody for LFA. A Southfield Police Evidence Technician processed the scene, recovered stolen items and collected evidence. Southfield Police Detectives conducted follow up

9 investigation and discovered additional items that were recovered on suspect s person were from LFA s that occurred in a neighboring jurisdiction. From: 01/20/ :00am To: 01/20/2017 2:30pm Northwestern (Commercial-Racquet Club) Swimsuit, passport, registration, and other forms of identification were stolen from the vehicle. Victim stated she went to work this morning at the Athletic Club located in the Block of Northwestern Hwy. R/P arrived around 10:00am. R/P stated she parked her vehicle in the rear of the lot. When she returned to her vehicle around 2:30pm the rear driver side window was broken out and items were missing from vehicle. From: 01/20/2017 1:30pm To: 01/20/2017 6:30pm Southfield Rd. (Commercial Office) Several tools were taken from the vehicle. R/P, who works for business located in the Block of Southfield Rd., stated that sometime between 1:30pm- 6:30pm one of their work vans was broken into and all of the power tools were stolen.

10 From: 01/22/2017 2:00pm To: 01/22/2017 4:00pm Franklin Rd. (Residential- Apartments) 2- Central Processing Units were taken from 2013 Toyota Camry. Victim states sometime between 2:00pm- 4:00pm someone entered his unlocked vehicle and took 2- Central Processing Units. Tips: Ensure your vehicle is locked at all times and valuables are out of sight. Thieves wait for the right time and will move quickly Even if playing sports at a park ensure your vehicle is locked

11 Armed Robbery: Date/Time Address (block range) Item Taken Details From: 01/20/2017 9:00pm To: 01/21/2017 4:00am Franklin Rd. (Residential- Assisted Living Apartments) Cash was allegedly taken. Victim states at approx. 9:00pm two subjects one male and one female entered his apartment by unknown means and came into his bedroom where he was lying down. (Victim is elderly and lives in an Assisted Living Apartment.) Victim thinks the female lives in his building. The two subjects were talking and then the female released three cats that she had and they attacked the victim scratching him on his back. Officers checked and there were no visible scratches on victims back. Victim also states that the male subject demanded money from him. Victim gave him an undisclosed amount of cash. Victim is unsure what happened after that. Incident is under investigation. 12 Height 5' 6" Weight 130 Suspect#2 Last Name SUSPECT First Name UNKNOWN DOB (Age) 35 Sex M Race BLACK Hair Style Hair Length Short Complexion Medium Height 5' 9" Weight /21/2017 1:40pm Sherman Ave. (Residential- Apartments) I-Phone 6-S was taken. Victim states he listed his IPhone 6-S on a website called Offer Up. Victim was then notified by Offer Up that an individual wanted to buy the phone. Suspect told victim that he did not have a ride to come get the phone so victim offered to bring the phone to him. Suspect gave the address in the Block of Sherman in Southfield. Victim arrived at the address and stated that the suspect came walking from out of the Apartments at that location. Suspect was described as a B/M approximately years in age, short hair, wearing black hooded sweat shirt with red, white & black checkered pajama pants.

13 Tips: Always be aware of your surroundings and report suspicious incidents or persons to your local police. If something doesn t appear right or someone looks like they are up to no good, call the police immediately Trust your intuition Victim states that the suspect pulled out a knife, snatched the phone from victims hand and took off running back into the Apartment Complex. A Southfield Police K-9 Unit conducted a track for suspect. The track went to the area of Block of Sherman Apartment Building and the parking lot. (This is the address that suspect gave for victim to meet him) K-9 showed a lot of interest around the suspected address on Sherman and then continued clockwise around the complex back to the area where the Robbery occurred. Officers attempted contact at the suspected address and no contact was made at this time. Incident is under investigation. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Citizens that buy or sell items on Craig s List, Offer Up or any other website should never meet with person(s) you have never met before by yourself or at a location that is unknown or unsafe. Citizens should complete the transaction at a safe location like a Police Department. 14 Unarmed Robbery: None Reported: Tips: Always be aware of your surroundings and report suspicious incidents or persons to your local police Be on the Look Out Highlights: Larceny From Auto (LFA s) this past week: (Locations, Circumstances and Times) 1) Block of W Eleven Mile (Commercial Office) Window broken out items taken. Bet. 8:30am- 11:30am. 2) Block of Evergreen Rd. (Commercial Office, second floor of parking structure) All Four Wheels & Tires were taken from 2016 Ford Explorer. Bet. 7:30am- 11:30am Arrests by SPD Officers: OWI= Operate While Impaired OUIN= Operate Under Influence Narcotics LFA= Larceny From Auto R&C= Receiving & Concealing Stolen Property DWLS= Driving With Suspended License A&B= Assault & Battery CSC= Criminal Sexual Conduct CCW/CPL= Carrying Concealed Weapon NOLOP= No Operator License on Person R/A= Robbery Armed PWID= Possession with Intent to Deliver PPO= Personal Protection Order 3) Block of Franklin Rd. (Hotel) Victim s Wallet with Credit Cards was taken. Bet. 7:00pm 3:20am)

15 4) Swanson Rd. (Commercial Travel Agency) Several witnesses from business confronted suspect, recovered stolen items and held suspect at location until Officers arrived and took suspect into custody. Occurred at 2:03pm. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> We don t normally recommend that citizens put themselves in harm s way but it appears that there was strength in numbers and the suspect new it and everything worked out for the good on this incident. We would normally request that you call the Police, report activity and wait until the Police arrive. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> CCW- 1- Juvenile Arrest 01/20/2017 2:59pm Block of Lahser Rd. (School) Southfield Police School Liaison Officer received information from Administrator (Asst. Principal) that student had been threatened by another student that possibly had a comb with a double sided knife contained inside it on school property. Investigation by Liaison Officer revealed that the threats were viable and thus an Administrative Search of suspect s locker and personal property was conducted by Security and Administration. During the search of student s locker a comb with double sided knife was recovered from suspect s purse. The student was taken into custody for CCW and was later turned over to her mother. School Administration will also be looking into possible suspension or expulsion from the school. 5) Block of Northwestern (Racquet Club) Window was broken out. Swimsuit, passport, registration, and other forms of identification were stolen from the vehicle. (Bet. 10:00am- 2:30pm)

16 6) Block of Providence Dr. (Residential- Apartments) Vehicle was recovered by DPD. Involved in accident. Vehicle was taken between 6:00pm and the following day at 4:10pm. 7) Block of Franklin Rd. (Residential- Apartments) 2- Processing Units were taken from victim s vehicle. Bet. 2:00pm- 4:00pm Filing a False Felony Report- 1- Arrest 01/21/ :25pm Block of Selkirk St. Several Officers were dispatched to the Block of Selkirk referencing a stabbing. Dispatch relayed that a subject called 911 stating he was stabbed by his sister and the phone line disconnected. When Officers arrived investigation revealed that R/P only called the Police because his sister wouldn t let him inside the house. The R/P (caller) denied telling Southfield Dispatch that he had been stabbed by his sister. Officers confirmed through Southfield Dispatch the following. Dispatch relayed that R/P (caller) stated his "sister in the house" stabbed him. R/P was taken into custody for Filling False Felony Report. 8) Block of Southfield Rd. (Commercial- Business) One of the business work trucks was broken into and several tools were taken. Bet. 1:30pm- 6:30pm

17 Special Attention: Larceny from Vehicles How to prevent this from happening to you! -Citizens should never leave anything of value inside their vehicle. (Especially Handguns, Purses, Wallets, Cash & Cell Phones!) - If you have a garage you should park your vehicle in the garage and lock the garage. - Wheel Locks are a deterrent but don t leave the wheel lock key in the interior of your vehicle, especially the center console or glove box. This is the first place they will look for the wheel lock. -After parking your vehicle turn your wheels all the way to the right or the left. This will make it difficult to get the lug nuts off the front wheels. Possession of Synthetic Narcotics/ Marijuana Lahser Rd. & W Nine Mile Rd. Officers observed vehicle travelling S/B Lahser without its headlights activated. They initiated a traffic stop at Lahser and Frazer for failure to use headlights. After approaching the vehicle Officers detected the odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle and asked the two occupants if there was any marijuana in the vehicle. The owner of the vehicle who was in the passenger seat pulled out a baggie of suspected marijuana from his boot and stated that s all that is in the vehicle. When Officers attempted to remove suspect from the vehicle he made several furtive movements behind his seat. After removing suspect from the vehicle he made admissions that there was a prescription bottle on the floor behind his seat with Oxycodone in it. He also stated that the prescriptions are for his grandmother and he took them for aches & pains. A check on drugs.com matched that of Oxycodone. The suspect was arrested for Possession of Synthetic Narcotics/ Marijuana. - If you don t have a garage, try to park your vehicle as close to your residence as possible. -If you here any loud noises near where your vehicle is parked, especially during the late night or early morning hours, attempt to look outside without alerting anyone and if someone is tampering with your vehicle immediately call 911, (Do Not Approach or Scare the Suspects Away) give Police Dispatchers

18 as much information about the suspect(s) and suspect vehicles as you can. Stay on the phone with Dispatchers until the Police arrive. -Lots of lighting around the area(s) that you park your vehicles is also very beneficial. Criminals don t like to work in well lighted areas. They prefer to work in darkness because it s difficult to see them. U&P/ Possession of Marijuana/ DWLS- 2- Arrests 01/21/2017 1:37pm W Twelve Mile Rd. (Bank) Officers were dispatched to Bank on a female attempting to pass a bad check. Officer arrived at the bank and reported that the suspect had already left the bank in a Silver Dodge Caliber. The suspect left the Fraudulent Check, State ID Card and SS Card behind at the bank. Southfield Officers located the suspect vehicle and stopped it. There were three (3) subjects in the car including the suspect who was in the front passenger seat. Officers investigated occupants. The driver didn t have a valid Driver s License. (Suspended) The driver also admitted that suspected marijuana recovered from vehicle belonged to him. The driver was arrested for DWLS & Possession of Marijuana. The front seat passenger was positively identified as the suspect from the bank. Officer at the bank confirmed suspect attempted to cash a fraudulent check. This subject was arrested for U&P. (Attempting to cash a fraudulent check) There was also information that the third person in the vehicle may have also cashed a fraudulent check at another Bank in a neighboring jurisdiction. This subject was RPI d at this time.

19 Possession of Heroin/ Possession of Cocaine/ Narcotics Paraphernalia/ Resisting Officer- 2- Arrests 01/21/2017 5:53pm Block of Northwestern Hwy (Hotel) Officers were doing a Property Inspection at Hotel when they observed suspicious vehicle parked in the parking lot with the windows all fogged up. After approaching the vehicle Officers observed male subject in the driver s seat, passed out with his eyes closed. Officers banged on the window. The subject woke up and was extremely nervous and overly animated. While talking to subject a witness told Officers he observed activities with the male and an unknown female suspected of Prostitution in a specific room at the Hotel. Officers continued talking with male subject and attempted to pat the male subject down when they observed him attempting to conceal what appeared to be a Crack Pipe in the sleeve of his shirt. Subject continued resisting Officers until they were able to get him on the ground and handcuffed. This subject was arrested for Possession of Cocaine, Possession of Narcotics Paraphernalia & R&O. Further investigation by Officers. They located female that was staying in the Hotel Room in question. She made admissions to staying in Room and gave Officers permission to go into the room. The female also had several Warrants for her arrest. Officers went to Room in question and noticed numerous amounts of open needles, condoms (used), narcotics paraphernalia and suspected heroin. A Southfield Police Evidence Technician processed scene and collected

20 items of evidence. Technician also Field Tested both the suspected Heroin and Cocaine. The result for both was positive. The female was also taken into custody for Possession of Heroin. Aggravated Felonious Assault- 1- Arrest 01/21/2017 9:12pm Block of W Twelve Mile Rd. (Shopping Plaza) Officers were dispatched to Block of W Twelve Mile Rd. female just ran over a male with her car in a Red Monte Carlo and is circling the lot and continuing to try to run the male over. Officer responded and located suspect vehicle heading west out of the parking lot with front end damage to the left front bumper, damage on both sides of vehicle and a broken windshield. The vehicle was stopped and Officer secured the driver. Other Officers located the victim. Victim advised Officers he was in the Plaza getting something to eat with his girlfriend. While they were in the restaurant victim ran into his ex-girlfriends sister. She was talking on the phone to his ex-girlfriend. When victim left the restaurant his ex-girlfriend pulled up to him in the parking lot and assaulted him. Victim pushed her away and he attempted to flee to his vehicle. Victim s ex-girlfriend then started to chase victim with her vehicle and struck victim with the front of her vehicle. Suspect s vehicle had front end damage and the front windshield was also damaged. Suspect while attempting to run over victim struck other vehicles and damaged the building when she drove up on the sidewalk and drove in between pillar posts that support overhang above sidewalk before attempting to leave the lot. Suspect was arrested at this time for Aggravated Felonious Assault.

21 OWI- 1- Arrest 8 Mile Rd. & Southfield Rd. 01/19/2017 1:18am Officers attempted to initiate a stop at the location for a traffic violation. The suspect vehicle failed to stop and continued W/B on Eight Mile Road. The operator of the vehicle eventually realized that the police were behind her and she pulled over at Eight Mile & Beech. The officers made contact with the driver and suspected that she was intoxicated. An OWI investigation was conducted and the subject was arrested for OWI. OWI- 1- Arrest Mt. Vernon & Rutland 01/20/2017 4:53pm Officer was sent to location for a two car crash. Upon investigating the crash one of the drivers was determined to be intoxicated. An OWI investigation was completed and the driver was taken to the hospital due to complaint of injury. A blood draw was completed and the arrestee was RPI d due to medical personnel advising the patient was going to be admitted for tests.

22 OWI- 1- Arrest 01/22/2017 2:12am Northwestern & Lahser Rd. Officers were dispatched to location on a person slumped in the driver s seat of a vehicle. Officer s arrived and attempted to wake up the operator of the vehicle. Once the driver was awakened Officers were able to place the vehicle in park and turn off the ignition. An OWI investigation was completed and the driver was arrested for OWI II.
