(Commercial- Multi Office) Exterior window and a glass interior door were smashed out. R/P states sometime between 5:00pm- and the following morning at 7:00am someone forced entry into business by breaking out exterior window and then smashing out an inner glass door. The suspect(s) attempted to force open the metal pharmacy door inside the business but were unable to gain entry. Nothing was taken. (Commercial- Collision Shop) RS Recovered Stolen Manufacturer FORD Model FUSION Color BLK - Black Vehicle Year 2017 Body Style 4D - 4 Door State MI License Year FORD FUSION Victim states that his 2017 Ford Fusion was stolen on 2/6/2019 from his residence in Detroit. (Reported to DPD) Victim found his vehicle approx. 8 blocks from his residence in Detroit. Victim had his vehicle towed to Collision Shop in Southfield for repairs. The vehicle was missing all four wheels and tires, had damage to the left side of the vehicle and the passenger rear window had been broken out. Vehicle was recovered and DPD was notified.

5 02/12/2019 4:56pm Central Park Blvd. & Civic Center Dr. RS Recovered Stolen Manufacturer Chevrolet Model Malibu Color GRY - Gray Vehicle Year 2018 Body Style 4D - 4 Door State MO License Year ' GRAY CHEVRY MALIBU Officers were on routine patrol in the Block of Central Park Blvd. (Hotel) when they observed a Gray Chevy Malibu with a Missouri License Plate, unoccupied and backed into a parking space on the Northeast corner of the property. Officers conducted a LEIN check of the front license plate on the vehicle. It returned as a stolen vehicle out of the Detroit. There was also information regarding who the suspect was. Officers set up surveillance of the vehicle and at 4:56pm Officers observed the vehicle pulling out of the Hotel. The vehicle was occupied by two subjects. Officers attempted to stop the vehicle. The vehicle accelerated going s/b on Central Park Blvd. Officers activated their siren as the vehicle went N/B on Central Park Blvd. & pulled back into Hotel where Officers stopped the vehicle. Officers conducted their investigation and both occupants in the vehicle were arrested. The driver was arrested for DWLS & R&C Motor Vehicle. The passenger was taken into custody for Felony Warrant (Possession of Methamphetamine) out of another jurisdiction. The vehicle was recovered and DPD was notified of recovery.

Manufacturer CHEVROLET Model MALIBU Color WHI - White Vehicle Year 2018 Body Style 4D - 4 Door State MI License Year 2019 Motor Vehicle Victim states she parked her 2018 White Chevy Malibu in her driveway at 8:30pm. At 3:00am victim discovered her vehicle had been taken. No suspect information.

(Residential- Apartments) Manufacturer BMW Model 530XI Color GRY - Gray Vehicle Year 2007 Body Style 4D - 4 Door State MI License Year Grey BMW 530XI >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> A - Attacked Manufacturer GMC Model ENVOY Color GRY - Gray Vehicle Year 2004 Body Style State License Year GMC ENVOY GRAY -Vehicle Was Discovered with Column & Ignition Damage. There was also a window broken out. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> A - Attacked Manufacturer CADILLAC Model ESCALADE Color WHI - White Vehicle Year Cadillac Escalade White Notes Driver Side Door Handle Lock Several Officers were dispatched to the Block of Franklin Rd. (Apartments) for a possible UDAA is progress. The caller advised the suspect was inside of a White Cadillac SUV wearing an orange hat and camouflage jacket. Officers located the vehicle and found it to be unoccupied. Officers observed damage to the driver s door lock and there was steering column damage. The owner was located and he advised that the steering column damage is old from a recent incident in Detroit. There was new damage however to the driver s door lock. Nothing was missing from the vehicle. Note: While Officers were still on scene they discovered a 2005 GMC Envoy parked near a snow bank in the rear of the parking lot. The vehicle had a broken passenger side rear window, the steering column cover was missing, and there was damage to the ignition. The owner of the vehicle wasn t located and due to the damage to the vehicle and suspicious circumstances, the vehicle was impounded. Note: Surveillance footage from a nearby Auto Theft, occurred in the Block of Northwestern which is right across the street from original incident shows a younger B/M with a backpack, wearing black pants, a dark jacket and a red/orange hat walking from Apartment Complex where vehicles were attacked to this Business. The B/M locates vehicle left running unattended with the keys in the ignition in the

It s believed that this suspect and the suspect that was responsible for the MDOP/ Attempt Auto Thefts could be one in the same. 9 Larceny: Date/Time Address (block range) Item Taken Details 02/12/2019 4:01pm North Park Dr. (Residential- Apartments/ Hair Salon on 1 st Floor) Equipment R/P states the hair salon on the first floor had several items stolen from it, no forced entry, the doors were unlocked when employees returned. Incident occurred sometime between1:05pm on 02/11/2019 and 4:01pm on 02/12/2019. Note: The complex office was also entered and items were taken. No signs of forced entry. Management declined a report until it is cleared with corporate. They do have a short video of the suspects and they were asked to make a copy of the video and have it when the make their report. One of the suspects is believed to be a former employee from the complex. Incident is under investigation.

10 02/12/2019 2:22pm Northwestern (Hotel) Undisclosed amount of cash was taken. Victim states after checking out of her room and driving home she realized that she forgot a pair of pants that had an undisclosed amount of cash in one of the front pockets. Victim returned to the hotel and spoke to a woman that cleaned the room. She was told that there were no pants left in the room. The cleaning lady allowed victim to look through her cleaning cart. Nothing was found. Investigation by Officers revealed that the cleaning lady was questioned and she denies taking anything. It was discovered that the victim checked in on 02/09/2019 and not on 02/12/2019 as she had originally stated. Victim also extended her stay several times and stayed in multiple different rooms. Victim stated that she stays at the hotel often because she likes it. This was found to be unusual because victim lives locally. Victim also mentioned that she had been at a club prior to incident.

11 From: 02/12/2019 8:30pm To: 02/13/2019 7:00am Lahser Rd. (Residential- Apartments) Count 2- Wheels & Tires 2 Black Tires W/ Silver Rims Notes Passenger side front and rear tires. Taken from 2016 Chrysler 200. Victim states sometime between 8:30pm and the following morning at 7:00am someone took two Wheels & Tires from her 2016 Chrysler 200. (Passenger side front & rear tires were taken) No suspect information. From: 02/11/ :43pm To: 02/12/ :43pm North Park Dr. (Residential- Apartments) 3-30 Flat Screen TV s, 1-70 Flat Screen TV, 3- Hand Held Radio s, Cash, 2- Space Heaters, Misc. Tools, 1- Tablet. Investigation revealed that employee s discovered multiple items missing from the Office and Fitness Center on 02/12/2019. Surveillance Video shows on 02/11/2019 at approx. 10:43pm a B/M gained entry through a rear door. The B/M was wearing a black security jacket with red patches. The male was accompanied by an unknown B/F. The back door had no signs of forced entry. R/P believes that one of her maintenance workers might have propped open the door. R/P observed possible suspect via camera near the door around 10:51pm. The maintenance manager reviewed surveillance video and he believes the male suspect is a former security person that was fired back in January of Officers gathered contact information regarding Security Company for identifying suspect. The suspect is also believed to be responsible for another incident at this location. Suspect s: Suspect#1 (Former Employee) First & Last Name Were Given to Officers Sex M Race

Victim left the handgun in the vehicle overnight and when he came back out to his vehicle the following morning at 5:02am his door was open and his handgun and a kindle (E- Reader) were missing. 13 02/14/ :14am Lahser Rd. (residential- Apartments) Misc. Grocery Items, 1 Dodge Key Fob, 1 House Key were Taken. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Unfortunately, these days we can t leave anything of value including groceries, car keys etc. unattended, not even for a couple minutes! We call this a crime of opportunity. Don t give anyone the opportunity to take your property!!! >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Victim states she came to stay with her sister in the Block of Lahser Rd. After arriving to her sister s apartment complex, she unloaded approx. $100 worth of assorted alcoholic beverages from her vehicle and entered the building. Victim stated her sister called her for help in the parking lot and she set her bags down along with her keys inside the building and helped her sister with her car. When she returned approx. 15 minutes later her belongings were gone. Victims house key and vehicle key (FOB for Dodge Charger) were also taken. The incident occurred between 11:15am and 1200pm. Victim doesn t recall seeing anyone in the area at that time. 02/14/2019 9:45am Shiawassee Rd. (Residential- Apartments) Copper Pipe Officers were dispatched to the Block of Shiawassee (Apartments) on a report of a Larceny. Officer met with the R/P (Maintenance Manager) on scene. R/P states approx. 6 feet of copper piping was stolen from the basement of apartment building Shiawassee in the Riverstone Apartment Complex. The complex had the same thing happen in another building about a week ago. No suspect information.

14 02/14/2019 3:34pm Winchester Assorted Mail >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Citizens that are alerted that someone may be outside their residence should never open the door. Citizens should try to look outside w/o alerting anyone. If there is someone outside your house that shouldn t be there, call 911 and give the dispatcher as much information about the person(s) and vehicle as possible. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Victim states she was at her residence on 02/11/2019 around 10:10pm when she noticed the front door motion light turning on and off. Victim opened the front door and was shocked to see someone standing on her front porch going through her mail box. Victim described the subject as a B/M, 20's-30's, medium complexion, slim to medium build, short dark hair, no facial hair, short brown jacket, blue jeans, dark colored boots, and when she opened the door he ran off and jumped into the vehicle that was parked in her driveway. The vehicle then drove off. The vehicle was backed into her driveway and victim believes she got the correct license plate from it. Victim described the vehicle as a Dark Colored 4 door sedan. The license plate came back on a 2017 Ford Fusion.

15 02/15/2019 4:17pm Towne Sq. (Commercial- Office Complex) SR - Both Stolen and Recovered Laptop/ Docking Station/ Wallet / Blue & Black Tote Bag/ Small Projector/ Garmin Charger/ Key to Dodge Avenger Recovered Date/Time 02/15/2019 5:00pm Location TOWNE SQ Notes All of the items were recovered and returned to their rightful owners. Several Officers were dispatched to Block of Towne Square reference a B/M, in his thirties, wearing a black jacket, and black pants stole someone's wallet. Security and employees are attempting to detain suspect. Officers arrived on scene and assisted security with securing suspect who was still resisting them. After the suspect was secured Officers conducted their investigation. Witnesses from an upper floor advise they observed suspect going through employee s offices taking items then he ran to the stairwell. Two employees chased after the suspect and detained the suspect on the first floor. The suspect started throwing stolen items at the employee s and he continued to attempt to flee. Security arrived and together they attempted to detain suspect until police arrived. Officers recovered several stolen items from the suspects person and took him into custody for Larceny in a Building. From: 02/15/2019 3:00am To: 02/15/2019 6:30am Sherman Ave. Copy of insurance and registration for attacked vehicle. Victim states she parked her vehicle in her drive way around 3:00am. Victim went back out to her vehicle around 6:30am and discovered that the driver door handle had been broken off and her proof of registration and insurance for her vehicle was missing. Nothing of any value was taken.

16 02/16/2019 4:24am Franklin River (Residential- Apartments) E Evidence/ Recovered Stolen Manufacturer Handgun Tips: Ensure your vehicle is locked at all times and valuables are out of sight. Thieves wait for the right time and will move quickly Even if playing sports at a park ensure your vehicle is locked On 02/16/2019, Officers were dispatched to the block of Franklin River Dr. (Apartment Complex Clubhouse) The security officer there advised Southfield Dispatch that a man was sleeping with a gun on his chest in the sauna. Officers arrived at scene and located the man in the sauna. The subject had a handgun in plain view on his chest with his fingertips touching the grip. Officers secured the firearm. Officers also located an empty magazine for the handgun on the bench where subject was laying. Officers attempted to wake up subject. He was difficult to wake up and moved his arms away from Officers so he was handcuffed for Officer safety purposes. As the subject began to awaken, he was incoherent and his speech did not make sense. Officers located a Michigan ID Card that indicated subject lived in Southfield but not at the Apartment Complex. Officers ran the handgun in LEIN. The firearm returned as stolen out of a nearby jurisdiction in The handgun was confirmed stolen. After running subject in LEIN, he returned with a Southfield Warrant for Assault. Suspect arrested for Warrant and R&C Stolen Firearm without incident.

17 Armed Robbery: Date/Time Address (block range) Item Taken Details 02/16/2019 6:07pm Lathrup Blvd. (Residential- Apartments) Manufacturer iphone Suspect #1 & Suspect #2; B/M's, average height, average build, between yoa. Both suspects were wearing dark clothing, dark hoodies, and dark ski masks. The suspects were armed with black machine pistols/handguns. Suspect vehicle; Most likely a Gray, but perhaps Blue Dodge Charger, possible model year Victim (Common Carrier Driver) states that he was in the Block of Lathrup Blvd. (Apartments) delivering a parcel to one of the apartments. After delivering the package he returned to his truck which was parked in front of the building. After returning to his truck he was attacked by two young B/M s, years old. The suspects were both armed and victim feared for his life. The suspects roughed him up and took his cell phone. Victim stated that the suspects did not appear to be interested in the truck's cargo. Victim was bleeding from the scalp, and had a laceration in his scalp line near his left temple. His glasses were twisted and broken. There were witnesses that confirmed incident. Tips: Always be aware of your surroundings and report suspicious incidents or persons to your local police. If something doesn t appear right or someone looks like they are up to no good, call the police immediately Trust your intuition

19 Be on the Look Out Highlights: Special Attention: MDOP to Vehicle/ Domestic Related. From: 02/11/2019 8:15pm To: 02/12/2019 8:30am Block of N Hidden Rivers Dr. (Condo Complex) On Monday February 11, 8:15pm victim s exgirlfriend made an uninvited appearance at his home. Victim refused to let her into his home as she repeatedly rang his door bell before leaving. Victim advises that his ex-girlfriend continued to call him throughout the night. The following morning at 8:30am victim left his apartment and discovered the surveillance camera at his front door had been pulled off the wall and his vehicle had been keyed on both sides. Victim suspects his ex-girlfriend. The ex-girlfriend has been identified and incident is under investigation. 20 Special Attention: Creating School Disturbance/ Fight involving Students & Parents 02/13/2019 4:37pm Block of lahser Rd. (Southfield Public High School) Southfield Police Liaison Officer responded to a disturbance in the Commons area of the school. After arriving he observed several security guards holding back parents and students. Security and faculty were attempting to separate students and the parents. The parents were asked to leave the school property and refused to leave. Investigation revealed at some point during the disturbance two mothers and two daughters met and a fight broke out between them. Apparently, trouble had been brewing for some time between the two female students and on this day the parents entered the school w/o reporting to the main office and got into it as well. Everyone has been identified and incident is under investigation. Domestic/ F/A- 1- Arrest 02/12/ :06am Block of Franklin Rd (Apartments) Officers were dispatched to the Block of Franklin Rd. to investigate possible Domestic Assault. Officers arrived on scene and spoke with the two combatants. (mother & son) Mother advises her son assaulted her and hit her on the back with an aluminum bicycle tire pump. Victim stated her son was upset because he believes that his mother is causing problems with his personal life. Victim called police yesterday to have her son committed but it was deemed at that time that he didn t meet the criteria. Officers spoke to male and he made admissions that he hit his mother twice and struck her with the bicycle pump. The male was taken into custody for Domestic F/A.

21 Special Attention: Near Drowning 02/17/2019 7:21pm Block of Northwestern (Hotel) A 6-year-old male was found unresponsive in the pool. CPR was initiated by citizens in the pool area. Child was revived prior to police or life supports arrival. The child was transported to the hospital and is in stable condition. Special Attention: Larceny of Packages that were ordered and delivered via Common Carrier. How to prevent this from happening to you! Recently several citizens have had packages that were delivered to their residences and apartments stolen prior to them retrieving the packages. Citizens can prevent this from happening by scheduling a specific time to have the package delivered and be waiting for the package. Citizen can also schedule the package to be picked up by themselves at the common carrier facility OUIN/ Possession of Dangerous Drugs- 1- Arrest 02/15/2019 2:26am Central Park Blvd. & W Eleven Mile Rd. On 02/15/2019, Officers were dispatched to the N/B side of Central Park Blvd. & Eleven Mile Rd on a report of subject slumped behind the wheel of vehicle. Officers located the vehicle moving E/B onto W/B Eleven Mile Rd (one-way street) from Berkshire Rd and jump the curb on the N/B side of W/B Eleven Mile Rd. Officers attempted to stop the vehicle by blocking it and were almost struck on two separate occasions. Officers eventually got the vehicle stopped and had difficulty with getting the driver out of the vehicle due to his dexterities. There was a strong odor of intoxicants and marijuana coming from the vehicle and the driver had great difficulty in performing any type of task(s). The driver told Officers that he had come from a strip club where he had drunk numerous shots. While removing subject from the vehicle, Officers observed in plain view a white corner tied bag with pills in it, in the arm rest pocket on the door. The bag contained white pills with the word Xanax on the front. Officers also located a sandwich baggie containing suspected Marijuana, under the driver seat. Both the Xanax and suspected Marijuana were placed into Southfield Evidence. The driver was transported to Providence Hospital for a Blood Draw. While in-route to the hospital, subject used profanity and vulgar statements towards officers. When Officers got to the hospital subject continued to be physically aggressive by pulling away from Officers and yelling & screaming. The subject continued to display a lack of mental clarity and continued to act aggressive towards hospital staff and Officers present. The blood draw was eventually completed and subject was

22 Special Attention: Larceny from Vehicles How to prevent this from happening to you! -Citizens should never leave anything of value inside their vehicle. (Especially Handguns, Purses, Wallets, Cash & Cell Phones!) conveyed to Southfield Jail. Subject was charged with VCSA and OUIN pending results of Toxicology Reports. - If you have a garage you should park your vehicle in the garage and lock the garage. - Wheel Locks are a deterrent but don t leave the wheel lock key in the interior of your vehicle, especially the center console or glove box. This is the first place they will look for the wheel lock. -After parking your vehicle turn your wheels all the way to the right or the left. This will make it difficult to get the lug nuts off the front wheels. -If you don t have a garage, try to park your vehicle as close to your residence as possible. -If you here any loud noises near where your vehicle is parked, especially during the late night or early morning hours, attempt to look outside without alerting anyone and if someone is tampering with your vehicle immediately call 911, (Do Not Approach or Scare the Suspects Away) give Police Dispatchers as much information about the suspect(s) and suspect vehicles as you can. Stay on the phone with Dispatchers A&B/ Warrants- 4 Arrests 02/16/2019 5:30pm Block of Greenfield Rd. (Pharmacy) Officers were dispatched to the Block of Greenfield Rd on report of employee being assaulted by four B/F customers. Investigation revealed that four female suspects assaulted the female store employee because the item they were looking for was out of stock. Instead of going to another store they punched, scratched and beat the employee causing multiple non-lifethreatening injuries. All four suspects were located by Officers in the vehicle they fled in on S/B Southfield near 10 Mile Rd. All four suspects were arrested and lodged. One of the arrested females also had two 46th District Court Warrants.

They prefer to work in darkness because it s difficult to see them. Citizens should be aware of Scams that are out there! Especially be Careful of Tax Scams. It s that Time of Year. Report Scams to the Federal Trade Commission >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Someone calls to ask for money. Are they who they say they are? Stop! Check it Out. Don t wire money if someone asks you to! >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Tax Scams in the past involve unexpected refunds that are deposited into personal bank accounts. Scammers then impersonate IRS agents, alter the Caller ID information and contact the refund recipient advising them the money must be returned before facing arrest, deportation or suspension of their driver s license. The target will be asked to return the refund through a gift card or wire transfer or the caller will attempt to get personal information from the target.

24 Citizen s Beware- The IRS will not do the following: Call to demand immediate payment using a specific payment method such as a prepaid debit card, gift card or wire transfer. Generally, the IRS will first mail you a bill. Threaten to bring in local police or other lawenforcement groups to have you arrested for not paying. Demand payment without giving you the opportunity to question or appeal the amount they say you owe. Ask for credit or debit card numbers over the phone. Should you receive an unexpected /erroneous tax refund contact the IRS either through their website Tax Topic Number Returning an Erroneous Refund or Call the IRS toll-free at (individual) or (business). The FCC further warns that criminals have used imposter tax preparation sites. Look alike Tax Preparation Services capture your personal information while you believe they are e-filing your tax return. Your information is now used to commit fraud. Always use trusted sites and be careful when clicking. When using an online tax preparation service, look for the tax preparer identification number. The IRS requires

25 all paid tax preparers to have one before filing any returns.
