(Commercial- Catering) The entry point was through the S/E window that leads to a storage room. Victim (owner) stated his business was locked up at 4:30pm on Friday 11/10/2017. The business has an alarm, but it was not set. On 11/11/2017 at 9:00pm owner had an employee stop by the business to pick up some things for a catering that they were working. The employee discovered the business was broken into. Two desk top computers and one paper shredder are missing from the business. 3 Home Invasion: Date/Time Address (block range) Method of Entry Description/Suspect Information 11/08/2017 4:01pm Golfview Dr. The east entry door nearest the kitchen window leading to a room was pried and forced open defeating the deadbolt. Officers responded to alarm at residence. Officers discovered good Home Invasion. Entry was through door nearest to the kitchen. It was pried open. There was also an attempt on the kitchen window. The screen was removed and the lower pane window was broken. There was one Flat Screen TV missing from the room at the point of entry. Nothing else was disturbed. Appears suspect(s) were scared off by the alarm. (Commercial- Office Complex) Laurel Woods Dr. (Apartments) Status S - Stolen Manufacturer GMC Model YUKON Color GRY - Gray Vehicle Year 2003 Body Style State MI License Year 2018 Description SUV Status S - Stolen Manufacturer CHEVROLET Model TRAVERSE Color DBL - Dark Blue 2011 MI Description CHEVY Traverse Victim states sometime between 9:30am- 5:30pm someone stole victims 2003 Gray GMC Yukon. The vehicle was parked in the parking lot of the Commercial Office Complex in the Block of Northwestern Hwy. Victim states sometime between 7:00pm and the following morning at 10:00am someone stole victims 2011 Blue Chevy Traverse.

5 11/12/ :52pm W Eight Mile Rd. & Lahser Rd. Status R Recovered Stolen Manufacturer DODGE Model NITRO Color BLK - Black Vehicle Year 2007 Body Style State MI Description Dodge Nitro On 11/12/2017 at approximately 12:52pm while on routine patrol Officer observed a Black 2007 Dodge Nitro on 8 Mile Rd. West of Lahser. The vehicle was unoccupied. The plate on the vehicle came back registered to a Chrysler 300. After running the VIN# on vehicle, it came back that the vehicle was wanted for a R/A UDAA out of Detroit. The vehicle was towed to the Southfield Police Towing Yard and held for DPD. Tips: Never leave your vehicle running unattended Park in areas where your vehicle is viewable if possible Use commercially available security devices

6 Larceny: Date/Time Address (block range) Item Taken Details 11/06/ :31am E Chanticleer (Condo s) Identity Theft & Fraud. An undisclosed amount was charged to victims Credit Card. Victim after realizing that she wasn t getting any of her mail, she went to the Post Office to investigate. Victim discovered that her mail had been directed to a different address on a street in Detroit. Victim also noticed that there were several fraudulent charges on her credit card that she was unaware of. This incident appears to be some type of Fraud and Identity Theft.

7 11/06/2017 4:46pm Saint James (Condo s) Package with contents was stolen, recovered and returned to its rightful owner. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> This is what neighborhood Watch is all about. Neighbors looking out for Neighbors!!!! With so many people buying on-line these days we have seen an increase in Larceny of packages being delivered to residents. Residents should be home to receive packages or pick up the packages at the carrier location. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> On 11/06/2017 at approx. 4:45pm, Southfield Officers were dispatched to the area of the Block of Boardwalk Blvd. regarding a report of a suspicious incident. Per the R/P, a B/F wearing a red and white hat and a blue jacket possibly stole a package from a neighbor s porch. The R/P stated that the female met up with a B/M wearing a white hat, blue jacket, and black pants and that they were walking in the parking lot located in the Block of Civic Center Dr. Southfield Officers located the suspects. The B/F was carrying a cardboard box sealed with Amazon Tape. The suspects were stopped and questioned. Both suspects were uncooperative and denied any involvement in taking the package even though the female was holding the package?? Investigation: After inspecting the package it was determined that the package was addressed to a residence in the Block of Saint James. The female suspect was arrested for Larceny of Package from Common Carrier. The male suspect was RPI d. at this time. Officers contacted the victim. Victim states that he had received notification of his package being delivered to his residence this date at 11:54 am and upon returning home from work was met by Southfield Officer's with his package. Officers returned the package to victim with all (3) of its contents after photographing

8 the open box and contents. Great job by everyone involved!!!!! Both suspects live in a nearby Apartment Complex and may be responsible for other similar incidents. From: 11/06/2017 7:00am To: 11/06/2017 4:15pm Northwestern (Commercial- Office Complex) All Four-Wheel Covers were taken from 2011 Cadillac SRX. Victim states sometime between 7:00am- 4:15pm someone stole All Four-Wheel Covers from his 2011 Cadillac SRX. 11/07/ :46am Northwestern (Commercial- Office Complex) All Four-Wheel Covers were taken from 2017 GMC Terrain. Victim states sometime between 10:45am- 3:45pm someone stole All Four-Wheel Covers from her 2017 GMC Terrain. 11/07/ :40am Prosper Dr. A/C Unit & Hot Water Tank were taken from vacant residence. R/P, property manager for property advises he came to residence on 10:40am and discovered that someone had taken the A/C Unit and the Hot Water Tank from the vacant residence. R/P couldn t provide a time line for the incident. From: 11/06/2017 6:00pm To: 11/07/ :00am Providence Dr. (Apartments) Status S - Stolen Description Michigan Handicap License Plate was taken from 2010 Dodge Avenger. Victim states sometime between 6:00pm and the following morning at 10:00am someone stole the Handi-Cap License Plate from his 2010 Dodge Avenger.

9 11/07/2017 2:30pm W Eight Mile Rd. (Commercial- Wholesale) Status S - Stolen Description Wallet Notes *Contents: Cash, driver s license, health insurance card, debit & credit cards. Victim states her wallet was stolen out of her purse while she was shopping at business in the Block of 8 Mile Rd. The theft occurred while her purse was sitting in her shopping cart unattended. Victim became aware of the theft when she received a fraud alert from her bank. The card was fraudulently used at stores in other cities. No suspect information. 11/08/2017 6:20pm Franklin Rd. (Assisted Living- Apartments) Status S - Stolen Manufacturer Metro PCS Model Serial No. License No. Color SIL - Silver or Aluminum Description Silver Smart Phone Victim who is bedridden states a B/M yoa walked into her apartment while the door was unlocked. He did not have permission to enter. He entered her room and began going through her purse. Victim screamed for help. Victims caregiver was in the bathroom at the time. She came out and told the suspect to leave. The suspect took victims cellphone out of her purse without permission. He placed the purse back in victim s room and left the scene. Victim and caregiver both state they have never seen suspect before. Suspect Description: Last Name SUSPECT First Name UNKNOWN 40 Sex M Race BLACK

(Industrial Business) Status S - Stolen Color Vehicle Year Body Style State License Year 2018 Description Michigan License Plate was taken from 2007 Ford Freestar Victim states on 11:00am he discovered his license plate had been stolen from his 2007 Ford Freestar. 11/07/2017 5:30pm W Eight Mile Rd. (Commercial Wholesale) Victims Apple iphone was taken from victims shopping cart. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Citizens should never leave their purses or wallets in their shopping cart while shopping. All it takes is a few seconds when you walk away or are distracted for someone to take your wallet or your purse! >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Victim states his cell phone was stolen out of his shopping cart while he was shopping at business in the Block of 8 Mile Rd. The phone has a locater app, which showed at that time it was in Canton, MI. Victim was advised to contact Canton P.D. No suspect information. The victim was later contacted by Southfield Detectives. The victim advised that he failed to contact Canton PD and he has since purchased a new cell phone. 11 From: 11/07/2017 4:30pm To: 11/07/2017 6:00pm Franklin River (Apartments) Status S - Stolen Disposition Stolen Notes Two (2) State of WA License Plates and License Plate Registration Paperwork. On 11/07/2017, Victim had (2) State of Washington license plates and vehicle registration paperwork delivered to his address in the Block of Franklin River Dr. at 4:30pm. At 6:00pm victim discovered that someone had stolen the package with merchandise. Victim advised that the license plates had been shipped to him from Washington, and he had an confirmation that it had been delivered. Victim advised that the package had been delivered to his front door. From: 11/08/ :00am To: 11/08/2017 4:00pm Lahser Rd. (Nursing Home) Cash was taken from victim s wallet that was in a drawer. On 11/08/2017 between 11:00am and 4:00pm, unknown person (s) stole cash from victim s bedroom while he was absent from the room. The money was in a black wallet which was inside of a drawer. Because it s a nursing home the rooms are all left unlocked. No suspect info. at this time.

12 1/10/ :51am Telegraph Rd. (Commercial- Vehicle Leasing) A Handgun that was reported stolen on an earlier date in Southfield was recovered. Staff at Leasing Agency discovered a pistol between the seats of a recently returned rental vehicle. After running the pistol in Lein it was discovered that the pistol was reported stolen out of Southfield. The handgun was stolen on 10/10/2017 during a LFA. In that incident victim s vehicle was broken into while parked at victims Apartment Complex in the Block of Providence Dr. Cash and the handgun were taken. The suspect that rented the vehicle has been identified and incident is under investigation. From: 11/08/ :50pm To: 11/08/2017 6:00pm Plumbrooke Dr. Package containing Apple iphone was taken from victim s porch. Victim states a package was delivered to her home on Wednesday November 8, 2017@12:50pm. The package was left at the front door. Victim arrived 6:00pm, the package was gone. No suspect information.

13 11/09/2017 9:30am Nottingham Ln. (Apartments) Package containing Xbox was taken. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Citizens that buy merchandise on line and have it delivered to their homes should be aware that in many instances criminals are stealing the packages before they get the packages from their porch or mail boxes. A couple ways to prevent this from happening to you. #1 Set up a specific time to have the package delivered and make sure your there to personally receive the package. #2 Don t have the package delivered to your residence, instead pick up the package at the Carrier Distribution location. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Tips: Ensure your vehicle is locked at all times and valuables are out of sight. Thieves wait for the right time and will move quickly Even if playing sports at a park ensure your vehicle is locked Victim stated he had a package delivered to his residence in the Block of Nottingham. Victim received confirmation of the delivery and when he went to pick up the package approx. 25 minutes later it wasn't there. Victim checked with the apartment complex and they were unable to provide him with any information.

15 Be on the Look Out Highlights: Special Attention: Two incidents recently involving Traffic Altercations. One F/A with a knife. Possibly related. Incident#1 11/08/2017 4:30pm Evergreen Rd. & Mada Victim was driving S/B on Evergreen Rd and stated he may have cut off another driver where the S/B lanes narrow to one lane just south of 9-mile Rd. The driver of the other vehicle passed victim in the left turn lane several times and would slow down and cut him off. When victim stopped for Red Traffic Signal at Evergreen Rd & Midway suspect exited his vehicle walked up to victim and hit him in his arm with an unknown object. Victim later realized he had been stabbed in the arm and he went to a nearby Hospital for treatment. Victim had a small puncture wound that required a few stitches. Suspect vehicle was a Black Mercedes. 16 BLACK Hair Color Brown Build Medium Height 6' 2" - 6' 4" Incident#2 Southfield Police Detective conducting Follow Up Investigation Reference Incident#1 located a 911 dispatched call from 11/08/2017 at 4:25pm in which a Green Jeep and Black BMW were having a traffic altercation while driving south on Lahser, beginning at 10 Mile Road. Detective contacted the caller who witnessed the traffic altercation. Witness stated that he watched the two vehicles continuously passing each other on the dirt and using the turn lanes. He stated that once the vehicles were stopped at Lahser, just before 8 Mile, the b/m subject in the BMW exited his vehicle, walked up to the other driver s car and punched the driver of the Green Jeep through the window. He stated that the subject got back into his BMW and turned to go north on Lahser Rd. Witness described the suspect in the BMW as a b/m in his mid-30's, slender build, 5'-8"-5'-10", medium complexion. Both incidents are similar in nature. Anyone with any information regarding either of these incidents or anything else in this report is advised to call the Southfield Police Investigations Division Fleeing & Eluding/ R&O/ CCW/ Poss. Of Firearm in commission of a Crime/ F/A with Motor Vehicle- 1- Arrest Providence (Apartments) 11/14/2017 2:51am Southfield Officer attempted to stop a vehicle in the parking lot of Apartment Complex when it fled from him. A pursuit occurred that appeared to have ended in the parking lot of the old Northland Center after Officer used the PIT Maneuver to disable the vehicle and another Officer pinned the vehicle in from the front. The driver of the vehicle nearly struck Officer after he approached the vehicle on foot to apprehend the driver. The driver was able to break free and the pursuit continued back out onto Greenfield Rd. where Officer performed the PIT Maneuver again. This time the vehicle was pinned in by other Officers. The driver bailed out of the car and fled on foot. The suspect was apprehended behind an office building by Officers that were pursuing him. The suspect aggressively resisted Officers and kept reaching for his waistband like he had a gun. The suspect had to be tased. He was handcuffed and secured. A handgun was later found in the suspect s vehicle. The suspect was arrested for Flee & Eluding, F/A Motor Vehicle, R&O and CCW. It was also later discovered that the suspect was an absconder wanted in relationship to some type of attempt murder incident.

17 Special Attention: LFA s & Auto Theft This Past Week: Office Complex Block of Northwestern Service Dr. This past week there were 2- LFA s where All Four hubcaps or center caps were taken from vehicles. It looks like the time frame was between 10:45am- 3:45pm. There was also 1- Auto Theft reported. A Gray 2003 GMC Yukon was taken some time between 9:30am- 5:30pm.
