2 Commercial Burglaries: Date/Time Address (block range) Method of Entry Description/Suspect Information From: 05/04/2018 5:00pm To: 05/06/2018 6:00pm Providence Dr. (Residential- Apartments) No signs of forced entry. Manager for Apartment Complex in the Block of providence Dr. advises sometime between 5:00pm and the following day at 6:00pm several tools were stolen from their Maintenance Office. Officers inspected the maintenance office and found no evidence of forced entry. It is suspected by maintenance staff that someone may have left the door unlocked. Several people have keys and access to the office. It is also utilized by janitorial personal. The door was found unlocked upon the initial discovery. 3 Home Invasion: Date/Time Address (block range) Method of Entry Description/Suspect Information 05/03/2018 7:27am Lexington Pkwy. Attempt Only R/P (13-year-old) was home alone and heard loud noises like someone was trying to break into the residence. Officers were called and immediately responded to the residence. Upon checking the residence, Officers observed a chair and a large rock beneath one of the windows. The homeowner did not know who the chair belonged to. A Southfield Police Evidence Technician processed the scene and collected evidence. It appears that the suspect(s) were scared off. Entry was not made into the residence. From: 05/02/ :30pm (Auto Theft Too!) Fairfax Entry through unlocked Kitchen window. >>>>>>>>>>>>>> Status S - Stolen Manufacturer FORD Model Explorer Color GRY - Gray Vehicle Year 2007 Body Style State MI Description 2007 Gray Ford Explorer >>>>>>>>>>>>>> Female occupant advises at 11:30pm she was in her bedroom on the upper level of the residence and the male occupant was in the basement. Both heard footsteps on the main level of home and each thought it was the other. Upon both victims meeting on the main floor it was discovered that the kitchen window was open and an unknown suspect(s) had entered the home. The female victim observed a Flat Screen TV was taken as well as their 2007 Gray Ford Explorer. The vehicle was taken with keys that were left on the kitchen counter. No suspect information.

4 From: 04/30/2018 6:00am To: 05/02/2018 8:30pm Rodeo Ct. (Residential- Condo s)) Furniture, Dining Room Set, Mattress and Bedspring, Flat Screen TV. Victim stated that he was out of town for a few days and when he returned home he discovered that all of his furniture including Sofa, Love Seat, Dining Room Set, Mattress, Bedspring and Flat Screen TV. was missing from his condo. Victim suspects it was his ex-girlfriend. Suspect has been identified and incident is under investigation. Victims vehicle was parked at her Apartment Complex in the Block of Oxley Rd. 05/03/2018 7:50pm Aberdeen St. Status RS Recovered Stolen Manufacturer BMW Model 645 Color BGE - Beige Vehicle Year 2004 Body Style 2D - 2 Door State License Year UNKN Description BMW 645 (BEIGE) Officers were dispatched to the Block of Aberdeen on report of a suspicious vehicle. The vehicle was located. It was reported as a stolen vehicle by Detroit Police Department. The vehicle was confirmed as stolen and was impounded. DPD was notified of the recovery. The vehicle was not occupied at the time of recovery.

6 05/04/2018 2:12pm Abington & Winchester Status X - Manufacturer Ford Model Mustang Color GRY - Gray Vehicle Year 2014 Body Style 2D - 2 Door State VA License Year 2019 Southfield Officer was responding to a run when a resident stopped him to report a suspicious vehicle on Abington just north of Winchester. Officer located the vehicle and gave the Virginia License Plate to Southfield Dispatch. The vehicle came back stolen from a Dealership in the State of Virginia. Southfield Dispatch confirmed the vehicle was reported stolen a day earlier on 05/03/2018. The vehicle was recovered and a lein message was sent to jurisdiction that reported vehicle stolen. The vehicle was unoccupied at time of recovery. 05/06/ :09am W Twelve Mile Rd (Residential- Apartments) Status S - Stolen Manufacturer CHEVROLET Model CAPTIVA Color GRY - Gray Vehicle Year 2013 Body Style 4D - 4 Door State MI License Year Description GRAY 2013 CHEVY CAPTIVA PL#AXU640 Victim states she parked her vehicle at 10:00am, in the parking lot at Apartment Complex in the Block of 12 Mile Rd. When victim woke up the next morning to leave at approx. 10:00am, she realized that her keys were missing. Victim looked everywhere and realized she left her keys in the door to her apartment. When she went to retrieve her keys her house key was still on the key ring but her vehicle keys had been removed. Victim then went to the parking lot where she last parked her vehicle and saw that her vehicle was missing.

7 From: 05/05/2018 9:00am To: 05/06/2018 9:00am North Dr. (Residential- Apartments) Status AS Attempt Stolen Vehicle Manufacturer SATURN Model SL Color WHI - White Vehicle Year 2002 Body Style 4D - 4 Door State MI License Year 2018 Description WHITE SATURN SL Victim states she parked her vehicle at her residence in the Block of North Dr. (Apartment Complex) on 05/05/2018 at 9:00am. Victim returned to her vehicle on 05/06/2018 at 9:00am and observed the vehicle door was opened. Victim observed damage to the steering column and ignition damage. There was no other damage done to the vehicle and nothing from the vehicle was taken. Victim believes the suspect(s) were scared off before they could steal the vehicle. Tips: Never leave your vehicle running unattended Park in areas where your vehicle is viewable if possible Use commercially available security devices

8 Larceny: Date/Time Address (block range) Item Taken Details 05/03/2018 Between 10:00am- 5:30pm Northwestern (Commercial- Office Building) Catalytic Converter was taken from victims 2008 Honda Element. R/P stated that someone stole the catalytic converter off her 2008 Honda Element sometime between 10:00am- 5:30pm. There is no suspect information at this time. The building surveillance camera s may have recorded the incident. 05/01/ :00pm Grodan Dr. (Commercial- Auto Parts) Michigan ID Card and Debit Card were taken. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Citizens should never leave their purses, wallets, laptops or cell phones exposed to theft while at work. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Victim states she was working at business in the Block of Grodan and she put her purse in the employee break room, on top of a shelf. At some point throughout the day she got a notification via telephone that someone has been trying to use her debit card. Victim returned to her purse and noticed that her Michigan ID Card and her Debit Card had been stolen. She immediately cancelled her bank to cancel the Debit Card. There is no suspect information at this time.

Victim states sometime between 10:30am- 12:30pm someone stole the catalytic converter from victims 2008 Cadillac DTS. From: 05/01/2018 1:30pm To: 05/01/2018 2:00pm Adrian Rd. 3- Shindawa Line Trimmers. 2- Redmax Backpack Blowers. 1- Husqavarna Backpack Blower. 1-Shindawa Stick Edger >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Landscaping Crews should always keep their equipment locked up and someone should always be within eyesight of their Truck, Trailer and Equipment! >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Victim owns Landscaping Company. Sometime between 1:30pm- 2:00pm someone stole numerous pieces of landscaping equipment from his landscaping trailer. The workers were in the backyard out of sight of their trailer when incident happened. Southfield Detectives conducted follow up investigation and located two of the stolen items at a Pawn Shop in a neighboring community. It was discovered that the items were sold at Pawn Shop just a short time after they were stolen. The subject that sold the two stolen items has been identified and incident is under further investigation by Southfield Detectives.

(Commercial- Auto Tech) Status S - Stolen Manufacturer PIONEER Model Serial No. UNKNOWN License No. Color GRY - Gray Description PIONEER CD/TV PLAYER W/ 6" SCREEN The owner of the business stated that the victim s vehicle arrived at his shop on 4/27/2018. The vehicle was parked in the lot between the dates of 4/30/2018 and 5/2/2018. During that time victim s vehicle was broken into and the Pioneer Radio was taken from his 2003 Lincoln Navigator. No suspect information. From: 05/01/2018 3:00pm To: 05/04/2018 9:00am Lucerne Dr. Status S Stolen License Plate Color Vehicle Year Body Style State License Year 2018 Description License Plate was taken from 2016 Chevy Malibu. Victim made the station to report her License Plate was stolen off her 2016 Chevy Malibu. Victim last observed the plate on 05/01/2018 and realized it was missing on 05/04/2018 when a neighbor advised her about it. No suspect info available.

11 05/05/2018 6:01pm Franklin Rd. (Hotel) Status S - Stolen Manufacturer Sun Glasses Victim states she stayed at Hotel in the Block of Franklin Rd. from 04/30/2018 through 05/02/2018, During her stay, she only had her room cleaned one time, which took place on 05/01/2018. On that day, victim left her room around 9:00am and returned around 4:00pm. Victim left her designer sunglasses out on the nightstand. When she returned to her room, the sunglasses were not there anymore. Victim stated her bed had been made but nothing else was cleaned in the room? Victim suspects maid from Hotel. Incident is under investigation. 05/05/2018 4:58pm Southfield Rd. (Car Wash) Status S - Stolen Description Prescription Medications >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Citizens that frequent Car Washes where you must exit your vehicle for any part of the car detailing process should never leave their prescriptions or anything of value in the vehicle. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Victim states he went to Car Wash in the Block of Southfield Rd. to get his car cleaned at or around 4:00pm- 4:30pm. Victim states he gave an employee permission to enter and drive his vehicle to clean it. At the time of him giving the employee the vehicle he was sure his prescription medications were in his glove compartment due to him just using them. After getting his car washed, he left the car wash and went home. When he got home he attempted to obtain his medication from the glove compartment, they were not there. No suspect info at this time.

12 From: 05/04/2018 4:00pm To: 05/04/2018 5:00pm Telegraph Rd. (Commercial- Market) Victims change purse was taken. Victim came into the front desk to report that on Friday May 4, 4:30pm victim placed her change purse down on the counter by the lottery machine inside the store. An unknown suspect picked up victims change purse and fled the store when victim wasn t paying attention. The incident was captured on the store surveillance video. Suspect was a B/F, no further information at this time. 05/05/2018 7:00pm Greenfield Rd. (Commercial- Business) I-Phone 6S, Silver in color. Victim was at business in the Block of Greenfield Rd. on 05/05/2018 at approx. 7:00pm. While in the store, victims phone was stolen somehow without his knowledge. Victim reviewed security footage with the store manager, but could not see the point where or how his phone was taken. Tips: Ensure your vehicle is locked at all times and valuables are out of sight. Thieves wait for the right time and will move quickly Even if playing sports at a park ensure your vehicle is locked

If something doesn t appear right or someone looks like they are up to no good, call the police immediately Trust your intuition Unarmed Robbery: 05/05/ :53pm Summerdale & Collingwood Dr. Handgun and Cell phone were taken from victim. Victim (male) was at a party and was assaulted by 4 male suspects. During the assault, the males took victims handgun from his waistband and his cell phone. The victim called the police (911) as he was following the suspects on S/B M-10 (Lodge Fwy) in Southfield. Southfield Officers responding to incident, located the suspect vehicle and stopped it. After the four suspects were detained the vehicle was searched and the victim s handgun, that was stolen, was in the vehicle. All four suspects were arrested and lodged. Tips: Always be aware of your surroundings and report suspicious incidents or persons to your local police

14 Be on the Look Out Highlights: Special Attention: F/A- Shooting 05/01/2018 2:48pm Magnolia Pkwy Southfield Officers were dispatched to the Block of Magnolia Pkwy. on a report of a shooting that took place. Victim stated her and another female (suspect) got into an altercation last night in Detroit. The suspect was drunk and hit victim. Today, suspect arrived at victim s house in Southfield with another female to apologize. Victim refused to open the door and told suspect to leave through the closed picture window. Suspect refused to leave and started banging on the glass window. Victim called her father who arrived and told the ladies to leave. They complied and left. Approx. an hour later suspect arrived back at the house with a male subject. The male subject pointed two guns at victim and her father while they were standing the driveway. As the male and female suspects drove away, the male suspect fired 3-4 shots in their direction. A Southfield Police Evidence Technician processed the scene and collected evidence including spent shell casings from the street. Southfield Police Detectives conducted follow-up investigation and developed a possible suspect for the male that was responsible for the shooting. 15 with the two victims that were shot at. Both victims positively identified the same suspect. On May 3, 2018, this case was presented to the Oakland County Prosecutors Office who authorized an 8-Count Warrant for the arrest of the suspect. The charges included the following: Weapons- Firearms- Discharge in or at a Building Possession of a Firearm in Commission of a Felony Weapons- Firearms- Discharge from Vehicle Possession of a Firearm in Commission of a Felony Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (FA) Possession of a Firearm in Commission of a Felony Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (FA) Possession of a Firearm in Commission of a Felony Detectives swore to the complaint in front of Magistrate of the 46th District Court. (Great job by everyone involved in this Investigation!) Domestic Felonious Assault- 1- Arrest 05/03/2018 8:25am Block of Oxley (Apartment Complex) Officers responded to a report of a male who was bleeding from the head asking for help. Upon arrival, it was discovered that the male had been involved in a domestic assault where his ex-girlfriend pulled out a knife and assaulted him with the knife. The victim stated he was attempting to disarm his ex-girlfriend when she assaulted him with the knife causing injury. The victim was transported to the hospital for treatment. The female suspect was located and taken into custody for Felonious Assault. OWI/ DWLS- 1- Arrest 05/04/2018 1:35am Block of Northwestern Hwy. Southfield Officers were dispatched to a one car crash at location. Upon arrival, the driver was located outside the vehicle, sitting in a pond next to the damaged car. Initial reports were that the driver had been ejected, however, it was later found that he had crawled out of the car. Officers detected intoxicants on the driver. A Southfield Fire Paramedic Unit responded to the scene and transported the driver to the hospital where a blood draw was conducted due to the driver s medical condition. Because of the driver s medical condition, he was released pending further investigation with the blood test results & issuance of a warrant for OWI.

16 Special Attention- MDOP/ Graffiti 05/04/2018 3:28pm Block of Independence Dr. (Elementary School) Officer was on routine patrol when he discovered a window broken out at Elementary School. The window was broken out by a piece of concrete. The window above the attacked window also had some damage but was not broken out. Officer investigating also located some graffiti that was painted on the N/E portion the brick wall next to the attacked window. Southfield Police School Liaison/ Resource Officer was notified and he is going to contact someone from the school to fix the window and clean up the graffiti. Domestic F/A & A&B/ Possession of Marijuana/ Resist & Obstruct- 1- Arrest 05/05/2018 2:53pm Block of Providence Dr. (Apartment Complex) Southfield Officers were dispatched to the Block of Providence Dr. on a report of domestic situation in progress. Officers arrived on scene and observed female backing her vehicle off the male s bicycle. The male was trying to enter the female s vehicle and reaching into the vehicle trying to get at female. Officers ordered male to stop and when attempting to secure male he resisted them. After securing male, Officers interviewed both subjects and witnesses. It was discovered that the female attempted to run over the male with her vehicle and in so doing ran over his bicycle. The male avoided being hit by female s vehicle. Both subjects then physically assaulted each other. Both subjects were taken into custody. During the search of the male incident to arrest suspected marijuana was recovered on his person. The male half was taken into custody for Domestic A&B/ Possession of Marijuana & R&O. The female half was arrested for Domestic F/A.

17 Special Attention: F/A with a Gun 05/05/2018 2:15am Block of Northwestern Hwy. (Bar/ Lounge) On 05/05/2018, Southfield Officers were dispatched to the Block of Northwestern Hwy. on a report of an armed subject. Officers were informed by dispatch there was a B/M wearing a white shirt with a handgun. Officers arrived on scene and spoke with victim and witnesses. The suspect had already fled the scene. Investigation revealed that victim and her boyfriend got into a verbal argument in the parking lot. At some point, it got physical between the two combatants and the male half punched female knocking her to the ground. A witness confronted the male half and advised him he shouldn t be hitting a woman. The male half pulled out a handgun from his waistband and pointed it at the witness. The witness backed away. The suspect was last seen walking away. Surveillance video from the business confirmed incident. Suspect has been identified and incident is under investigation. MDOP- 1- Arrest 05/05/ :07pm Block of Roseland St. On 05/05/2018 at 11:07pm Southfield Officers responded to the Block of Roseland for a possible MDOP incident. A resident on Roseland witnessed a B/M damage their neighbor s mailbox. As Officers were doing an area check for suspect they heard glass breaking in the Block of Twelve Mile Rd. Officers observed a subject matching the description of suspect walking S/B near a Dentist Office. As they pulled into the complex Officers observed a broken window at the business. Officers made contact with the subject and he admitted to breaking out the window at business and also damaging the mailbox on Roseland due to frustration? The suspect was taken into custody for MDOP.

18 Special Attention- 2- Incidents/ 3- LFA s of Catalytic Converters occurred this past week at the following locations: Incident#1 occurred on: 05/02/2018 Between 10:30am- 12:30pm Block of Northwestern (Church) 2- Cadillac DTS had their catalytic converters cut off vehicles. No suspect information. Incident #2 occurred on: 05/03/2018 Between 10:00am- 5:30pm Block of Northwestern (Commercial- Office Building) 2008 Honda Element had its catalytic converter taken. No suspect information.

19 Special Attention: Home Invasions Geographic Area Home Invasions recently. Two of the Home Invasions were occupied dwellings. 1)28000 Block of Marshall St. 04/16/2018 Between 7:30am- 6:00pm Victim states sometime on Monday 04/16/2018 between 7:30am- 6:00pm someone forced entry into residence through the N/W bedroom window and took a Flat Screen TV & Jewelry. 2) Block of Catalpa Dr. 04/21/2018 Between 9:30am- 4:30pm Victim states she left her home on Saturday 04/20/2018 around 9:30am and returned home around 4:30pm. After returning home she discovered her dresser drawers and closet were gone through. Victim discovered the patio sliding door wall slightly opened. She couldn't remember if she had locked the slider since she used it last. Victim states there was no damage to the door wall and nothing was missing from the residence.

20 3) Block of Fairfax (Occupied Dwelling) 05/02/ :30pm Female occupant was upstairs in her bedroom and the male occupant was in the basement. Both heard footsteps on the main level of home and each thought it was the other. Upon both victims meeting on the main floor it was discovered that the kitchen window was open and an unknown suspect entered the home. The female victim observed a Flat Screen TV was taken as well as their 2007 Gray Ford Explorer. The vehicle was taken with keys that were left on the kitchen counter. No suspect information. 4) Block of Lexington Pkwy. (Occupied Dwelling) 05/03/2018 7:27am R/P (13-year-old) was home alone and heard a loud noise. Officers were called and upon checking the house, observed a chair and a large rock beneath one of the windows. The homeowner did not know who the chair belonged to. There were fingerprints on the window and the scene was processed.

21 Special Attention: Larceny of Packages that were ordered and delivered via Common Carrier. How to prevent this from happening to you! Recently several citizens have had packages that were delivered to their residences and apartments stolen prior to them retrieving the packages. Citizens can prevent this from happening by scheduling a specific time to have the package delivered and be waiting for the package. Citizen can also schedule the package to be picked up by themselves at the common carrier facility. Incident Details: The suspect stole a package that was delivered and left on a porch in the area of 13 Mile and Southfield. He is also suspected of stealing another package on the same day in the area of Berkshire and Winchester. AOD/ Farmington Hills PD- F/A with a Knife

22 Description of Suspect: Black male with a light complexion, approximately years old, 5 10, with an athletic build. He was wearing gray hooded sweatshirt and gray sweatpants. Suspect Vehicle: Mid 2000s Maroon Chevrolet 4-door Impala. Please see below attached photographs of the suspect and vehicle. This incident is under investigation by the Southfield Police Department. Anyone that has any information regarding this incident is asked to call (248) / Block of Middlebelt Rd. 04/29/ :03pm Southfield K-9 Officer and his K-9 were sent to location on a track for a F/A Domestic Assault stabbing suspect. Officer and his K-9 tracked through the complex and through a patch of woods where they encountered the suspect. The suspect was arrested and turned over to Farmington Hills PD. The knife was also located by K-9 while conducting an article search along the path of the track. AOD/ MSP- Suicidal Subject threatening to jump off bridge at 696 & Coolidge Rd. 04/23/ :57am 696 & Greenfield Rd. Southfield Officers assisted MSP with closing the freeway due to a suicidal subject threatening to jump off the bridge at Coolidge onto I-696. MSP defused the situation and reopened the freeway. Domestic/ Aggravated/ Felonious Assault- 1- Arrest

23 04/28/ :46pm Block of Prairie Dr. Numerous Officers responded to residence on reports of shots fired and people can be heard screaming. Officers arrived on scene and observed subject standing in front of residence and another subject standing in the doorway to residence. Officers made contact, and secured all individuals including a B/F who was ordered out of the house. Officers cleared the house and declared it safe. Investigation revealed that the three subjects live together, husband, wife and wife s son who has been diagnosed with possible Mental Health Issue s. A domestic dispute was in progress when the son got a knife and threatened his step-father. The step-father got his handgun and at some point, when threatened, he shot four rounds into the air to scare his step-son. The step-son then threw the knife onto the neighbor s yard and they continued to argue until the police arrived. The step-son was taken into custody for evaluation and possible F/A charges. OWI- 1- Arrest

24 04/26/ :22am Northwestern & Beck Rd. Southfield Officer observed a wrong way driver on Northwestern Hwy. Officer stopped the vehicle and a subsequent OWI investigation revealed that the driver was intoxicated. The driver was arrested for OWI and lodged at the Southfield Jail.
