2 Commercial Burglaries: Date/Time Address (block range) Method of Entry /Suspect Information From: 11/11/ :30pm To: 11/12/2018 4:24am Greenfield Rd. (Commercial Food) Front door glass was broken out with chunk of asphalt. Store manager arrived at location to find the front door glass broken out. She also observed the bags in which the cash is kept lying on the floor. An undisclosed amount of cash was taken. No reported alarms. This location was broken into on 11/09/2018 with the same circumstances. Southfield Detectives reviewed surveillance video and discovered that it was the same suspect and M.O. as earlier B&E. Nothing further at this time. From: 11/17/2018 5:15am To: 11/17/2018 5:25am W Nine Mile Rd. (Commercial Grocery Market) Suspect broke out a 6 x 5 window with a rock to gain entry into the business. Alarm was called in to Southfield Dispatch at 5:22am. Investigation revealed that suspect(s) stole Scratch Ticket Display containing several Lottery Scratch Off Tickets. No suspect information. 3 Home Invasion: Date/Time Address (block range) Method of Entry /Suspect Information 11/12/2018 3:02pm Franklin Pointe A crowbar was used to force entry into an upper level window. Victim states he left the house at approx. 12:00pm. At 2:49pm they received a call from the alarm company. Suspect(s) broke in through an upstairs window. Once inside the suspect(s) went through dresser drawers, closets & tipped beds off the frame. The suspects then went down stairs and the alarm was set off by a motion sensor. A firearm was taken from the bedroom closet and cash was taken from another closet. The vehicle has been entered into LEIN. There is no suspect information available. From: 11/18/2018 1:00am To: 11/18/ :00am Sutherland St S - Stolen Manufacturer CHEVROLET Model TRAILBLAZER Color BLU - Blue Vehicle Year 2007 Body Style State MI License Year CHEVY TRAILBLAZER BLUE IN COLOR Victim states sometime between 1:00am- 11:00am someone stole his 2007 Blue Chevy Trail Blazer. Cash, the key to the vehicle and a multi-tool w/ flashlight, leveler and screw driver were taken. Sometime between 9:00pm and the following morning at 7:45am someone entered victim s 2018 Honda Accord and took cash, the key to the vehicle and a multi- tool w/ flashlight. From: 11/14/ :00pm To: 11/15/2018 7:45am North Park Dr. (Residential- Apartments) S - Stolen iphone 7 Plus (silver) with a cracked screen >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> S - Stolen iphone 6s Plus (silver) with black case Victim advises he parked his vehicle near the rear door of the block of North Park Dr. around 11:00pm. At 7:45am victim returned to his vehicle and noticed that the driver door was slightly opened. 6 11/15/ :24pm W Ten Mile Rd. (Commercial Flower Shop) S - Stolen Manufacturer Lady s Wallet Color BLK - Black Black with Flowers on it. Contents: Cash, Dodge P.U. Keys and Business Keys, Several Credit Cards. Victim states a B/M approximately 40 years old entered the business through the rear door. Once victim was distracted getting him flowers, he stole her wallet and keys from behind the counter. He was last seen leaving the area in a Dark Blue Sedan. While victim was canceling her credit cards she was informed by her bank that her Credit Card was used at a Gas Station in Detroit. Officers responded to this Gas Station to see if there was video of the transaction. The employee that was working didn t know how to retrieve the information. From: 11/14/2018 9:00pm To: 11/15/2018 9:15am Valley Forge St. Key ring with work keys and a phone charger were taken from victims 2003 Acura. Sometime between 9:00pm and the following morning at 9:15am someone entered victim s vehicle and ran-sacked it. A Key Ring with work keys and a Phone Charger were taken from victims 2003 Acura. From: 11/15/2018 1:00am To: 11/15/2018 1:00pm Shenandoah S - Stolen Coin Change was taken from vehicle. Sometime between 1:00am and the following day at 1:00pm someone stole some coin change from victim s vehicle. The vehicle was unlocked at the time.

7 From: 11/14/2018 8:00pm To: 11/15/2018 6:30am Twyckingham S - Stolen Garage Door Opener Victim noticed that his garage door opener was stolen from his 2013 Ford Focus. He also found a cloth tag with a name on it in his 2006 Toyota Sienna. The victim does not know anyone by this name. No other information. From: 11/12/2018 7:06am To: 11/12/2018 5:45pm M-10 & Northland Dr. S - Stolen Catalytic Converter from 2005 Pontiac Aztek Victim states his vehicle was parked in the small parking lot right off the N/B M-10 Service Dr. at Northland Park Drive. Sometime between 7:06am- 5:45pm someone cut off the Catalytic Converter from his 2005 Pontiac Aztek. From: 11/12/2018 9:28am To: 11/12/2018 3:00pm Hickory Leaf S Stolen Common Carrier Package Medical Equipment- Glucose Sensor Victim received an confirming the delivery of her package through Common Carrier. It was delivered on 11/12/2018 at 9:28am. When victim returned home at approx. 3:00pm the package had been taken by someone.

8 11/13/2018 2:40pm Cherry Hill St. 17 Packages were taken from residences and recovered Block of Forest Wood St. (2) Block of Red Maple Lane (1) Block of Beechaven (1) Block of Forest Wood (4) Block of Westbrook Parkway (2) Block of Spring Leaf (2) Block of Red Maple Lane (1) Block of Beechaven (2) Block of Rock Creek (1) Block of Eldridge Lane (1) Officers responded to the Block of Cherry Hill to assist Beverly Hills PD search for a suspect who fled from a traffic stop. Beverly Hills P.D. stopped a White Lincoln and the front passenger fled on foot. The driver was arrested after multiple packages were discovered in the vehicle that were taken from numerous residences. Some of the packages were from Beverly Hills and 17- packages were found to be stolen from houses in Southfield. Beverly Hills PD arrested driver of suspect vehicle for packages that were stolen in their city. While Officers were searching for the suspect that fled on foot It was reported by a citizen in the Block of Westbrook Pkwy., that he observed suspect that fled from the vehicle on his surveillance video running through his backyard. Officers checked the area but didn t locate suspect. The same citizen reported that the suspect was seen again going through his yard at 5:51pm. Officers were searching the area and located the suspect next to a residence in the Block of Westbrook Parkway. He was taken into custody w/o incident.

9 From: 11/14/ :00pm To: 11/15/2018 9:32am Westland Dr. All Four Wheels & Tires were taken from 2017 Ford Escape. Victim states sometime between 11:00pm and the following morning at 9:32am someone took All Four Wheels & Tires from her 2017 Ford Escape. 11/15/2018 6:09pm W Eleven Mile S - Stolen (2) Packages Containing Cosmetics Victim reports she ordered (2) packages from business. They were supposed to be delivered by Common Carrier. She contacted business and carrier on 10/27/2018 regarding the packages. Carrier contacted her back on 11/07/2018 and confirmed they were delivered on 10/18/2018. Victim never received the packages. 11/15/ :55pm Greenfield Rd. (Commercial Grocery) S - Stolen Catalytic Converter was taken from 2012 Ford Escape. Victim states sometime between 10:45pm- 10:55pm someone cut off the catalytic converter from her 2012 Ford Escape. The vehicle was parked in parking lot in the Block of Greenfield Rd. Victim observed a light brown sedan, occupied by three individuals parked next to her vehicle, which suddenly left.

10 From: 11/15/2018 6:00pm To: 11/16/2018 6:00am Grayson Dr. Catalytic Converter was stolen from 2012 Ford Escape. Victim states sometime between 6:00pm and the following morning at 6:00am someone took the catalytic converter from her 2012 Ford Escape. The vehicle was parked in driveway. 11/16/ :14am Greenfield Rd. (Commercial Pharmaceutical) S - Stolen Narcotics Notes 1 Blister Pack of Narcotics R/P from company states that the suspect (employee at the facility) received a delivery of medications for current patients at the facility on 11/14/2018. (This is normal protocol) After receiving the medication s, the suspect signed for them indicating that all medication was received. When an inventory of the shipment was conducted the next morning, it was found that the Blister Pack of Narcotics was missing. (This is not normal) The suspect was confronted about the missing medications and the suspect replied that the medication was not correct so he shipped it back to the sender. A check on this determined that the shipment wasn t returned. The suspect has gone AWOL since he was questioned. Suspect has been identified and incident is under investigation.

11 From: 11/16/2018 9:00pm To: 11/17/2018 9:23am Lahser Rd. (Residence) 3- Vehicles were attacked. Nothing was taken Jeep Compass Jeep Compass Jaguar E Pace Victim states sometime between 9:00pm and the following morning at 9:23am unknown person(s) entered two vehicles Jeep Compass s that were parked in victim s driveway and ransacked the interiors. Victim stated her garage door was then opened (presumably using the remote opener in one of the Jeeps) and her 2018 Jaguar E Pace parked in the garage was also gone through & ransacked. Victim doesn t believe that anything was taken from any of the vehicles. From: 11/16/ :30pm To: 11/17/ :00pm N Tuller Ct. STOLEN ITEMS: - Registration. - Insurance - School documents. - Dell laptop, black in color. - Apple Watch 4, black. - Power Beats 2, black/red. Victim states sometime between 11:30pm and the following morning at 12:00pm someone entered his 2009 Jeep, ransacked the vehicle and took several items from the vehicle. No suspect information. From: 11/14/2018 8:30pm To: 11/16/2018 9:00am W Twelve Mile (Residential- Apartments) Catalytic Converter was taken from 1998 Toyota T-100 Pick Up Truck. Victim states sometime between 8:30pm and the following morning at 9:00am someone cut off the catalytic converter from her 1998 Toyota Truck.

12 11/18/2018 5:15am Corporate Dr. (Hotel) SR - Both Stolen and Recovered Copper Colored Bracelet. Victim should have phoned the front desk to confirm maintenance from the hotel was at her room. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Officers responded to the Hotel in the Block of Corporate Dr. on a report of a Domestic Situation. Victim (female) was sleeping by herself in her hotel room when she heard a knock at the door. She looked through the peep hole, but the peep hole was covered. The subject knocking claimed he was hotel maintenance. Victim opened the door and it was her ex-boyfriend. He forced his way into the room and assaulted her. He then took her iphone 8+ and demanded the password to the phone. Victim wouldn t give him the password. Suspect left with victim s cell phone and a copper colored bracelet in a White Sedan. As Officers were leaving the area they observed suspect vehicle N/B on Corporate Drive. The vehicle was stopped and the occupant was taken into custody. Victims cell phone and bracelet were recovered from the vehicle. From: 11/18/ :45am To: 11/18/2018 5:10am Constitution Stolen Items: - Registration - Insurance - Medical insurance papers - Miscellaneous expired credit cards Victim states sometime between 12:45am- 5:10am someone entered her 2006 Chevy Trailblazer and took several items from the vehicle. No suspect information. Tips: Ensure your vehicle is locked at all times and valuables are out of sight. Thieves wait for the right time and will move quickly Even if playing sports at a park ensure your vehicle is locked

13 Armed Robbery: Date/Time Address (block range) Item Taken Details 11/12/ :00pm W Nine Mile Rd. (Commercial Food) Taken: (1) Samsung Cellphone. A lone suspect entered the business and produced a handgun. The suspect pointed the weapon at an employee and demanded the money from the cash register. The victim advised the suspect that she couldn t access the cash register. The victim summoned for another employee and backed away from the register. The suspect grabbed the victim s cellphone off the counter and fled west on 9 Mile Rd. An area check and a K-9 Track were initiated with negative results. Suspect Info: B/M/35-40 years old , 165, medium complexion with a short beard. The suspect was wearing a puffy blue jacket, a grey hooded sweatshirt and was armed with a handgun. Southfield Detectives conducted Follow Up Investigation. See Additional Information and Photo of Suspect Below: -Possible Suspect Vehicle: Chevy Trail Blazer

15 Attached are pictures of the suspect in the Armed Robbery of business in the Block of Greenfield Rd. that occurred at approx.11pm on 11/12/2018. Suspect : B/M, yoa, , thin build, dark skin, mustache and chin hair, wearing a dark blue puff coat (possibly Northface), grey hooded sweatshirt, black pants and black boots (possibly Nike boots or similar style). He removed a silver revolver with a brown/wood handle from his right coat pocket. If anyone has any information regarding this incident please call the Southfield Police Department Tips: Always be aware of your surroundings and report suspicious incidents or persons to your local police. If something doesn t appear right or someone looks like they are up to no good, call the police immediately Trust your intuition

17 Be on the Look Out Highlights: Special Attention: Southfield Police Department launches Operation Safe Kids focusing on School Bus Safety News Release Date: November 13, 2018 Subject: Southfield Police launches Operation Safe Kids Contact: Brian Bassett, Acting Chief of Police (SOUTHFIELD, Mich.) The Southfield Police Department is partnering with Southfield Public Schools to launch Operation Safe Kids, a new initiative focusing on school bus safety. Arrests by SPD Officers: OWI= Operate While Impaired OUIN= Operate Under Influence Narcotics LFA= Larceny from Auto R&C= Receiving & Concealing Stolen Property DWLS= Driving with Suspended License A&B= Assault & Battery CSC= Criminal Sexual Conduct CCW/CPL= Carrying Concealed Weapon NOLOP= No Operator License on Person R/A= Robbery Armed RNA= Robbery Not Armed PWID= Possession with Intent to Deliver PPO= Personal Protection Order PBT= Preliminary Breath Test R/P= Reporting Party VCSA= Violation Controlled Substance Act Beginning in mid-november, the Southfield Police Department will deploy officers in unmarked vehicles along bus routes to ensure motorists obey school bus safety laws. The unmarked police cars will be working in conjunction with marked police cars to identify and ticket drivers. In Michigan, a violation for passing a school bus displaying flashing red lights is $335 and three points on the driver s license.

18 Considering recent tragedies involving children at bus stops, the police department has collaborated with our school system to enforce school bus safety and bring greater awareness to motorists, stated Acting Police Chief Brian Bassett. Our children s safety is our greatest priority. Police officers will be looking for motorists who fail to properly observe school bus signals as well as school zone speed limits. When a bus s overhead lights are flashing yellow, drivers should prepare to stop. When overhead lights are flashing red, drivers should stop at least 20 feet away from busses, unless driving in the opposite direction on a divided highway. When hazard warning lights are flashing, drivers may proceed with caution. Motorists should also slow down in school zones and residential areas and watch for children walking in the street, especially in areas where there are no sidewalks. For more information on Project Safe Kids, contact the Southfield Police Department non-emergency line at (248) Retail Fraud II- 1- Arrest 11/12/2018 1:53am Block of Telegraph Rd. (Grocery & Goods) Business Loss Prevention called to report a Retail Fraud in progress. A B/M just exited the store with numerous items that he did not pay for. The suspect entered a Blue Ford Escort being driven by another male. Officers saturated the area and Officer located the suspect vehicle on South M-10 approaching Evergreen. A traffic stop was initiated and the suspect vehicle stopped at M-10 and Nine Mile. The passenger was in possession of the stolen items and was identified as the one who stole the items. The arrestee had several Retail Fraud Convictions. The subject was arrested and lodged. Domestic Assault/ Warrant Arrest- 1- Arrest 11/15/2018 1:47am Block of Hilton Officers were dispatched on a Domestic Assault. The adult daughter of victim punched her several times in the face during an argument. Other family members had to step in to stop the assault. The suspect was arrested and lodged pending charges. The suspect also had an outstanding 46th District Court Warrant for Misrepresentation.

19 Special Attention: F/A with Gun 9 Mile Rd./ Evergreen Rd. 11/14/2018 3:22pm Two female victims were driving s/b Evergreen and became involved in a traffic altercation with a B/F driving a Silver Ford Explorer. At one point the victims allege that the driver of the Explorer pointed a handgun at them after passing their car. No further description. Suspect : Last Name SUSPECT First Name UNKNOWN DOB (Age) 20 Sex F Race BLACK Suspect Vehicle : S Suspect Vehicle Manufacturer FORD Model EXPLORER Color SIL - Silver or Aluminum Vehicle Year Body Style 4D - 4 Door State MI License Year 2019 OLDER MODEL SILVER FORD EXPLORER Aggravated Assault/ DWLS- 2- Arrests 11/16/ :57pm Block of W Nine Mile Rd. (Bowling Alley) Victim states there was an argument between some of her family members and two suspects in the bar. Victim and her party did not know who the two suspects were. After the short argument, victim and her family were out in the bowling alley area getting ready to leave. Suspect#1 walked up, and asked what's their problem. As he walked up, he took off his gold watch, wrapped in around his hand and used it to punch victim in the face. He also tried to punch another family member. As people began to break up the altercation, Suspect#2 punched a second victim in the face, causing a laceration above her left eye. After the altercation, the suspects threw chairs toward their party. No one reported to be hit by a chair. As Officers arrived on scene one of the female victims stated that they had a gun and were talking about shooting people. Officer arrived on scene and observed a Black SUV, later identified as a Black Chevy Traverse occupied by two males quickly leaving the parking lot. Officer shined his flashlight on the vehicle, both subjects looked back and continued, exiting on to E/B Nine Mile at high rate of speed. Officers pursued the vehicle, stopping behind the church at Mclung and Lahser. Officers questioned subjects. Their stories didn t match and one of the suspects stated he was never at the bowling alley. Both subjects were eventually taken into custody.

20 Special Attention: Shots Fired Investigation: 11/16/2018 2:00pm Block of North Park Dr. (Apartments) Several units responded to shots fired in the arear of Block of North Park Dr. One witness stated that at approx. 2:15pm he overheard some sort of argument going on down near the front of his building. Shortly after the argument he heard one gunshot. He immediately looked out of the window of his apartment and observed a B/M wearing dark clothing flee from the area and enter a Dark Blue Chevy Impala that was parked nearby. Witness also observed 2- B/F s flee from the area immediately following the gunshots. The females entered a Black GMC SUV headed in an unknown direction. A second witness observed a B/M, approx years of age, wearing blue sweat pants and a blue hoodie with the hood up standing on the sidewalk near the driveway. He was arguing with an unknown subject that she couldn t see. Witness stated she saw the male point a silver handgun straight out towards the building and fire two shots. She said the gun was in his right hand. The male ran under her balcony, towards the building, and she could not see him anymore. Officers located one spent shell casing. No suspect(s) or victims were located at the time of this investigation. Domestic/ F/A- 1- Arrest 11/17/2018 7:57pm Block of Franklin Rd. (Apartments) Officers were dispatched to the Block of Franklin Rd. for a Domestic Assault Investigation. Officers arrived and met with Security Officer from Apartment Complex. Security advised that the male half of domestic approached him out in the parking lot and said his wife hit him over the head with a frying pan. The female was located and interviewed. She made admissions to hitting her husband over the head with a frying pan. The female was taken into custody for F/A Domestic Assault. OWI- 1- Arrest 11/15/ :04am Northwestern & 10 Mile Rd. Officer stopped a vehicle for its erratic driving and several traffic violations. The driver displayed characteristics of being under the influence of intoxicants. An OWI investigation was completed and the driver was placed under arrest for OWI. The arrestee refused the PBT and the Breathalyzer Test. A search warrant for blood was obtained. Blood samples were obtained and the suspect was lodged.

21 Special Attention: Larceny of Catalytic Converters This past week there were several Larceny of Catalytic Converters throughout the city. In one of the incidents in the Block of Greenfield Rd the victim was walking back out to her car and observed a light brown sedan, occupied by three individuals parked next to her vehicle. As she approached her vehicle the vehicle and suspects fled the area. Special Attention: Larceny of Packages that were ordered and delivered via Common Carrier. How to prevent this from happening to you! Recently several citizens have had packages that were delivered to their residences and apartments stolen prior to them retrieving the packages. Citizens can prevent this from happening by scheduling a specific time to have the package delivered and be waiting for the package. Citizen can also schedule the package to be picked up by themselves at the common carrier facility.

22 Special Attention: Larceny from Vehicles How to prevent this from happening to you! -Citizens should never leave anything of value inside their vehicle. (Especially Handguns, Purses, Wallets, Cash & Cell Phones!) - If you have a garage you should park your vehicle in the garage and lock the garage. - Wheel Locks are a deterrent but don t leave the wheel lock key in the interior of your vehicle, especially the center console or glove box. This is the first place they will look for the wheel lock. -After parking your vehicle turn your wheels all the way to the right or the left. This will make it difficult to get the lug nuts off the front wheels. -If you don t have a garage, try to park your vehicle as close to your residence as possible -If you here any loud noises near where your vehicle is parked, especially during the late night or early morning hours, attempt to look outside without alerting anyone and if someone is tampering with your vehicle immediately call 911, (Do Not Approach or Scare the Suspects Away) give Police Dispatchers as much information about the suspect(s) and suspect vehicles as you can. Stay on the phone with

23 Dispatchers until the Police arrive. -Lots of lighting around the area(s) that you park your vehicles is also very beneficial. Criminals don t like to work in well lighted areas. They prefer to work in darkness because it s difficult to see them.
