2 Commercial Burglaries: Date/Time Address (block range) Method of Entry Description/Suspect Information 03/11/2018 4:25am Southfield Rd. (Commercial- Gas Station) Lock was pried out on the s/side front door. 03/11/2018, early Sunday morning at 4:25am, Southfield Officers responded to the Block of Southfield Rd. (Gas Station) for an B&E Alarm. Officers arrived and discovered good B&E. The lock on the front southside door had been pried off. The lock to the door to access the cash register was also pried out. It appears that the money from the cash register and several cartons of cigarettes were taken. Video surveillance shows a B/M wearing a green hooded jacket with the hood pulled up over his face hiding his identity, baggie blue jeans and dark shoes at the front door. The B/M appeared to bust the lock from the front door. The B/M then walked into the store and straight to the locked door to the register area. The suspect is then observed taking the cash from the cash register and putting several packs of Newport Cigarettes in a white circular garbage can. The suspect then left the Gas Station. Actual time suspect was at the Shell Gas Station was 4:09am. Further Suspect Description: Last Name SUSPECT First Name UNKNOWN DOB (Age) Sex M Race BLACK Height 5' 7" - 5' 10" Weight

4 Home Invasion: Date/Time Address (block range) Method of Entry Description/Suspect Information 03/08/ :49pm 03/09/2018 2:59pm Poinciana St. Broken window to the rear of the house Marirmoor Vacant Home. Front door was forced open. Officers were dispatched to residence on report of a broken rear window found by a contractor. Contractor had not walked through the residence yet which is vacant. Officers arrived and cleared the house. It was discovered the heater unit and hot water tank were missing from the residence. Contractor states the previous tenants were evicted on 02/15/2018 and no one had checked on the home since then. Victim (homeowner) states she received a call from her alarm company indicating an activation at her home. Victim arrived at the home and discovered forced entry into the home. The front door was forced open and the alarm system was ripped from the wall and all the sensors were removed throughout the home. Victim states that nothing was taken from inside the home. Victim believes that it is some squatters who she has had problems with in the past. (Commercial- Car Rental) Status S - Stolen Manufacturer Nissan Model Versa Color BLU - Blue Vehicle Year Body Style 4D - 4 Door State OK License Year 2018 Description Nissan Representative for Car Rental business states on 02/15/2018 suspect rented a 2018 Nissan Versa. Suspect was to return it on 02/27/2018. A demand letter to return the vehicle was sent to suspect. Suspect did not return the vehicle and did not attempt to extend the rental agreement. Suspect has been identified and incident is under investigation. 03/07/ :00pm Telegraph Rd. (Commercial- Car Dealership) Status S - Stolen Manufacturer jeep Model Grand Cherokee Color RED - Red Vehicle Year 2013 Body Style 4D - 4 Door State MI License Year 2018 Description 2013 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE R/P (Manager for Car Dealership) stated on 03/07/2018 suspect came to the dealership looking to purchase a Jeep Grand Cherokee. R/P stated his sales associate was working with suspect who wanted to test drive a 2013 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The suspect produced his driver s license and the photo matched the description of the suspect. The sales associate went with the suspect for a test drive. When they got back to the dealership the suspect stated his wife just works down the street and would it be ok to take the car to show her. The associate allowed the suspect to take the car alone to show his wife. The suspect never came back to the dealership with the vehicle. The suspect has been identified and incident is under investigation.

(Commercial- Car Leasing) Status SR - Both Stolen and Recovered Manufacturer CHEVROLET Model EQUINOX Color GRY - Gray Vehicle Year 2018 Body Style State MI License Year Description GRAY 2018 CHEVROLET EQUINOX Recovered Date/Time 03/09/2018 9:30am Representative from Leasing Company states that vehicle in question was rented by suspect on 01/21/2018. Per the written rental agreement, the vehicle was to be returned to Leasing Agency on 02/19/2018. A vehicle return demand letter was mailed to suspects address by certified mail. The vehicle has not been returned. Suspect has been identified and incident is under investigation. Tips: Never leave your vehicle running unattended Park in areas where your vehicle is viewable if possible Use commercially available security devices

7 Larceny: Date/Time Address (block range) Item Taken Details 03/05/2018 2:00pm Telegraph Rd. (Commercial- Shoe Store) Purse containing victim s driver's license, credit cards, misc. medication, and keys to her car and house. Victim states she was trying on shoes and placed her purse down. While she was bent over, some people passed by her. When she looked up, her purse was gone. She did not see who took the purse. There are surveillance cameras in the store. Victims vehicle keys were in her purse. Victim immediately checked to see if her vehicle was still in the parking lot and it was. The store possibly has video but it wasn t available at time of reporting. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Citizens that carry a purse should never set there purse down or leave it unattended. He had another package delivered at 1:31pm by the Post Office. Victim reports he has surveillance cameras. When the suspect rang the doorbell, the ADT pulse camera recorded the suspect taking the packages at 2:55pm. Suspect: B/M, 20's, approximately 5'-9, thin, and wearing a jacket with an American Flag in a circle. He was in a Burgundy Chevrolet.

9 03/07/2018 7:32pm Greenfield Rd. (Commercial- Discount Store) One pair of Jordan Tennis Shoes. Victim stated he parked his 2006 Hyundai Elantra in front of business in the Block of Greenfield Rd at approx. 7:30pm. Victim left his vehicle locked and running while he went inside store. Victim was only inside the business for a few minutes. When he came back out, he noticed his passenger side rear window was broken out and a pair of shoes were missing from the vehicle. 03/07/2018 1:30pm Butternut Ln. Victim was home when it was delivered, but she didn t get it from the porch right away. At approx. 1:30pm victim heard her dogs barking and then she saw a person run across her porch. Victim saw the suspect get into a burgundy sedan newer model (poss. Ford Fusion) carrying a box. The vehicle was in her driveway. She only saw the back of the suspect and was unable to give a description.

10 From: 03/06/ :00am To: 03/06/2018 9:00pm Northwestern (Commercial Plaza) Status S - Stolen Manufacturer PAUL REED SMITH Description PRS MCCARTY 594 ELECTRIC GUITAR Victim states that sometime between 10:00am and 9:00pm someone pried a lock and stole a guitar from their showcase showroom. He said that he has no suspect information and there are no cameras in the store. 03/09/ :21am W Twelve Mile (Residential- Apartments) The In-Dash Radio/ Navigation System and victim s Wallet containing 1- Debit Card, 1- Credit Card, 1- Driver s License and 1-Social Security Card were taken from victims 2017 Dodge Ram P.U. Truck. Victim states sometime between 3:00am- 6:00am someone broke out window on victims 2017 Dodge Ram P.U. Victim (Employee at Hospital) states while working someone stole an undisclosed amount of cash from her locked locker. No further information at this time.

11 From: 03/05/2018 7:00am To: 03/07/2018 7:00am Inc.# 18/ La Garonne St. (Residential- Apartments) Several items were taken from victims 2004 GMC Pick Up Truck: Victim states she loaned her vehicle to her brother in law. He took the vehicle to her mother s house in the Block of La Garonne in her Apartment Complex. Sometime between 7:00am 7:00am someone broke into victim s vehicle and stole several items from the vehicle. 03/10/ :09am W Eight Mile Rd. (Commercial Furniture) 3- Wheels & Tires were taken from victims 2017 Ford Taurus. Victim states he parked his car in the parking lot at business at 10:00am. He went into the business for a short period of time. When he returned to his car he discovered that someone had taken 3- Wheels & Tires from his 2017 Ford Taurus. The 4 th Wheel & Tire had the lug nuts removed but it was still present. A check of the stores surveillance video shows at 9:51am (Time Clock is not correct) a Dark Purple Mini Van (appeared to be an early 90's Mercury Villager) drove into the parking lot and parked. The suspect vehicle then parked next to the rear of the Ford Taurus A short time later, the suspect vehicle left the parking lot in an unknown direction. No further descriptions at this time. The incident most likely occurred shortly after 10:00am.

12 03/10/2018 8:00pm Knob Woods Dr. (Residential Apartments) K-9 (Shih Tsu) brown and tan in color was taken. Victim states she left her dog with her father prior to going to California. The last time she saw her dog was back in September of When victim returned her father told her that her cousin and her cousins mother took the dog. When victim attempted to contact her cousin and her cousins mother they blocked her number and are not answering any of her phone calls. Suspects have been identified and incident is under investigation. 03/04/2018 9:30pm 03/05/2018 7:40am Summerdale (Residential- Condo s) Backpack containing: 2 I-Pads, a Lap Top and 2 Text Books. Victim states that someone broke out the left rear window of his 2015 Chevy Malibu and stole his Backpack. The Backpack contained 2 I-Pads, a Laptop and 2 Text Books. No suspect info. available. Tips: Ensure your vehicle is locked at all times and valuables are out of sight. Thieves wait for the right time and will move quickly Even if playing sports at a park ensure your vehicle is locked

14 Be on the Look Out Highlights: LFA s of Wheels & Tires This Past Week: Suspect Vehicle Information: 1) Block of Camden Sq. (Apartment Complex) Victim states sometime between 3:30pm and the following morning at 10:30am someone took All Four Wheels & Tires, the In-Dash Navigation System and a Handgun from victims 2017 Dodge Charger. 2) Block of W Eight Mile Rd. (Commercial- Furniture Store) Victim states he parked his car in the parking lot of business at 10:00am and went into the business. 15 Special Attention: Larceny of Packages that were ordered and delivered via Common Carrier. How to prevent this from happening to you! Recently several citizens have had packages that were delivered to their residences and apartments stolen prior to them retrieving the packages. Citizens can prevent this from happening by scheduling a specific time to have the package delivered and be waiting for the package. Citizen can also schedule the package to be picked up by themselves at the common carrier facility. PWID Marijuana- 1- Arrest 03/10/2018 6:35pm Northwestern/ Evergreen Rd. Officer stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation. Officer spoke with the driver of the vehicle and noticed a strong odor of marijuana emanating from inside the vehicle. A search of the vehicle led to the recovery of a substantial amount of suspected marijuana. The driver was arrested and lodged in the Southfield Jail. A Southfield Police Evidence Technician Field Tested a sample of the suspected marijuana. The result was positive for possible presence of marijuana. A Southfield Police Evidence Technician also drafted a Search warrant for suspects residence that was approved and signed by magistrate. The suspects residence was searched and additional items were secured from the residence.

16 Larceny of Packages that were Delivered to Residences. (2- Incidents) Suspect & Vehicle Information: 1) 03/07/ Block of Briarwood Ct. Victim reports on 03/07/2018 he had two packages delivered at 10:57am by Amazon. Victim reports he has surveillance cameras. When the suspect rang the doorbell, the ADT pulse camera recorded the suspect taking the packages at 2:55pm. SUSPECT: B/M, 20's, approximately 5'-9, thin, and wearing a jacket with an American Flag in a circle. He was in a Burgundy Chevrolet. 2) 03/07/2018 1:30pm Butternut Ln. Victim reports a package was delivered to his residence on 03/07/2018 by FedEx. At approx. 1:30pm victim heard her dogs barking and then she saw a person run across her porch. Victim saw the suspect get into a Burgundy Vehicle Newer Model (Possibly a Ford Fusion) carrying her package. The suspect had parked his vehicle in victim s driveway. No further description of the suspect. CCW- 1- Arrest 03/05/2018 4:09am Block of Lahser Rd. Officers were dispatched to the Block of Lahser Rd. for a Disturbing the Peace Call / Domestic Dispute. Victim stated her ex-boyfriend came to her home unwanted. His name is on the lease but he does not live there. Victim was sleeping and had her apartment keys on her. She woke up to suspect attempting to take her keys from her. They began to wrestle for the keys. She fought him off and he eventually left. No injuries were reported. Officers arrived and observed male suspect leaving the apartment building on the north side of the building. Officers made contact with the suspect and recovered a handgun from his waistband. Officers also recovered a set of brass knuckles from suspect. (Suspect has a CPL) A Southfield Police Evidence Technician administered a PBT on suspect. Result was over the legal limit to legally carry a firearm. The subject was arrested for being in possession of a firearm while intoxicated and Possession of Brass Knuckles. The suspect was given a Chemical Breath Test in the jail. The result was again over the legal limit to carry a firearm.

17 Citizens should be aware of Scams that are out there! Report Scams to the Federal Trade Commission >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Someone calls to ask for money. Are they who they say they are? Stop! Check it Out. Don t wire money if someone asks you to! >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> This year s tax scams involve unexpected refunds that are deposited into personal bank accounts. Scammers then impersonate IRS agents, alter the Caller ID information and contact the refund recipient advising them the money must be returned before facing arrest, deportation or suspension of their driver s license. The target will be asked to return the refund through a gift card or wire transfer or the caller will attempt to get personal information from their target. Possession of Marijuana- 1- Arrest 03/05/ :53pm (Motel) Southfield Officers were dispatched to the Hotel in the Block of Telegraph Rd for an unwanted subject, who had urinated in the parking lot and was refusing to leave the property. Officers arrived on scene and located suspect. He was with a female and they were both highly intoxicated. Investigation revealed that the male subject was denied a room because he had urinated in the parking lot. He was refusing to leave because he was intoxicated. Officers located suspected marijuana on the front seat of male s car. The male admitted that the marijuana was his. The male subject was taken into custody for Possession of Marijuana. Citizen s Beware- The IRS will not do the following: Call to demand immediate payment using a specific payment method such as a prepaid debit card, gift

18 card or wire transfer. Generally, the IRS will first mail you a bill. Threaten to bring in local police or other lawenforcement groups to have you arrested for not paying. Demand payment without giving you the opportunity to question or appeal the amount they say you owe. Ask for credit or debit card numbers over the phone. Should you receive an unexpected /erroneous tax refund contact the IRS either through their website Tax Topic Number Returning an Erroneous Refund or Call the IRS toll-free at (individual) or (business). The FCC further warns that criminals have even started using imposter tax preparation sites. Look alike Tax Preparation Services capture your personal information while you believe they are e-filing your tax return. Your information is now used to commit fraud. Always use trusted sites and be careful when clicking. When using an online tax preparation service, look for the tax preparer identification number. The IRS requires all paid tax preparers to have one before PWID Marijuana/ CCW- 1- Arrest 03/11/2018 4:01am Telegraph Rd. & W Nine Mile Rd. Officers were on routine patrol when they observed Blue Dodge Ram P.U. Truck pull into Motel in the Block of Telegraph Rd and then exit within a short period of time. Officers followed vehicle and observed several Traffic Violations. Officers followed vehicle to another Hotel in the Block of Telegraph where the vehicle was stopped. Officers were advised prior to contacting the two occupants in the vehicle that the registered owner of the vehicle had a Felony Warrant out of DPD for Fighting Animals. It was later confirmed. After contacting the occupants, it was confirmed that the driver was the owner of the vehicle. He gave consent to search his vehicle. During the search of the vehicle Officers recovered a scale and a quantity of suspected marijuana. The driver was taken into custody for Possession of Marijuana and the DPD Warrant. After searching the driver Officers recovered additional suspected marijuana on his person. The suspected marijuana was individually packaged and the driver had a quantity of money that would indicate that the occupants in the vehicle were most likely selling & delivering marijuana to persons at these hotels. The Possession of Marijuana charge was enhanced to PWID Marijuana. A Southfield Police Evidence Technician Field Tested a sample of the suspected marijuana. The result was positive for possible presence of marijuana.

DWLS/ Possession of Hydrocodone & Vicodin w/o a Prescription- 1- Arrest 03/08/2018 9:24pm W Eight Mile Rd. & Lahser Rd. Southfield Officer was on routine patrol when he observed suspect driving a White Chevrolet Equinox traveling over the posted speed limit. After stopping the vehicle, the driver stated he was test driving the vehicle but couldn t provide any information regarding the dealership or sales person that authorized him to drive the vehicle. Further investigation by Officers revealed that the driver had a suspended driver s license. The driver was taken into custody for DWLS. While transporting suspect to the jail there was furtive movement by suspect in the back seat of the patrol vehicle. Officer stopped his patrol vehicle, had the suspect exit the vehicle and searched him and the backseat area. Officer recovered 3- Pills that were later determined to be Hydrocodone and a white crushed up powdery substance in the backseat area. (Patrol vehicle was searched prior to Officers shift and backseat was clear of any property.) After getting suspect secured in the Southfield Jail the suspect was searched again. 3 more pills were recovered from one of the suspects socks. These pills are believed to be Vicodin. The white powdery substance that was in the back seat of the patrol vehicle was collected by a Southfield Police Evidence Technician and submitted to the lab for further analysis. Southfield Detectives interviewed suspect and he made admissions that he bought the Vicodin from a subject in Detroit.

20 DWLS/ Possession of Crack Cocaine & Paraphernalia- 1- Arrest 03/09/2018 2:18pm Southfield Rd. & W Eight Mile Rd. Officer was on routine patrol when he observed Blue Dodge Ram P.U. Truck with Defective Equipment and then committing a Traffic Violation. After the vehicle was stopped Officers contacted the driver of the vehicle. The driver made admissions that his Driver s License was suspended and that there could possibly be some tails of suspected marijuana in the vehicle. A Southfield Police K-9 Unit conducted a sweep of the vehicle. K-9 alerted on the driver s door and center console of the vehicle. A subsequent search of the vehicle and suspect was conducted by Officers. It was discovered that the driver had a tether on his right ankle. He was on probation out of a neighboring community. While searching the area around the tether a suspected crack pipe with suspected crack cocaine in it and additional suspected crack cocaine and powder were recovered by Officers. A Southfield Police Evidence Technician Field Tested a sample of the suspected Crack Cocaine. The result was positive for possible presence of Cocaine. The suspect was taken into custody for Possession of Crack Cocaine/ Paraphernalia & DWLS.

21 Possession of Cocaine & Marijuana/ DWLS- 1- Arrest 03/09/ :14pm Telegraph Rd. & W Eight Mile Rd. Officer was on routine patrol when he observed a Gray Chevrolet Impala exit Hotel in the Block of Telegraph Rd failing to stop while exiting a private driveway. Officer continued to follow vehicle and observed additional traffic violations. When Officer attempted to stop the vehicle, it was slow to stop and continued to travel S/B on Telegraph. Officer had his overheads and his siren activated and the vehicle continued S/B on Telegraph w/o stopping. The vehicle pulled into Gas Station at 7 Mile & Telegraph Rd. Before the vehicle came to a stop Officer observed the driver moving around inside the vehicle. The driver was observed reaching towards the passenger side of the vehicle and reaching into the backseat area of the vehicle. When contact was made with the driver Officer could smell an odor of marijuana coming from within the vehicle. The vehicle was searched and Officer recovered suspected marijuana from the cup holder in front of the center console and suspected cocaine from a pocket on back of the passenger seat. A Southfield Police Evidence Technician later tested a sample of the suspected Marijuana & Cocaine. Both tested positive for the presence of Marijuana & Cocaine. The driver was taken into custody for Possession of Cocaine/ Marijuana and DWLS.

22 OWI/ A&B Police Officer/ R&O/ Disorderly Conduct- 1- Arrest 03/11/ :47am 10 Mile Rd. & Lahser Rd. On 03/12/2018 at approx. 12:47am Southfield Officer observed vehicle make a wide right turn on to Lahser Rd from w/b 9 mile. The Black Jeep Patriot was then observed driving down the middle lane on Lahser Rd. The vehicle was swerving in and out of the lane and almost struck an ambulance head on. Officer stopped the vehicle and conducted an OWI investigation. The driver failed several sobriety tests and was taken into custody for OWI. Driver refused PBT and Breath Test at station. Suspect was eventually taken to Hospital for a court ordered blood draw. While at the hospital the suspect spit on the nurses and Officers causing a commotion that disturbed other patients in the emergency room. The suspect then intentionally kicked Officer in the shin. The suspect had to be restrained to complete the blood draw. The suspect was later lodged in the Southfield Jail pending arraignment.
