The Assessor is responsibe for discovering, isting, and vauing a rea and persona property. He performs the duties of the Assessor such as onsite inspections vauation of a buiding permits taken out for such things as new homes, additions, garages, remodeing, decks and other improvement projects. The Assessor and his assistant, Judy Hassmann, have accumuated buiding permits and and divisions to review and inspect for the 2018 assessment year. Inspections began in December 2017 and wi continue unti compete. As we move forward, most of you know we have been in an extensive road resurfacing program over the ast two years and that is going to continue this year.

But so far we have had a very successfu and safe powing operation. We wi see what winter has in store for us as it comes to an end. Any brush brought out after this time wi not be picked up and wi be the owner s responsibiity to remove. Due to budget and time constraints, there is NO FALL BRUSH PICKUP. BRUSH PICK-UP The Town of Lisbon Pubic Works Department wi begin the Spring Brush Pick-up on Monday Apri 16, 2018 (tenative/weather permitting) No branches wi be picked up that are over 8 feet in ength. Sma branches shoud be tied together with string. Branches over 5 inches in diameter shoud be cut up and used for firewood. A branches shoud be neaty stacked with butt ends facing the road. The crew wi not pick up from vacant ots or new construction. No stumps, rairoad ties or andscape timbers are aowed. No garden or yard waste, bagged, boxed or other containers of brush wi be picked up. Pease take these items to the Compost Site. Pease do not drop brush off at the Department of Pubic Works. WASTE OIL & ANTI-FREEZE There is a depository tank for waste oi ocated at the Municipa Garage at N72W24958 Good Hope Road. ONLY waste oi is to be deposited in this receptace for recycing. You may aso recyce your oi fiters at this ocation. Aso at this site is a receptace for used anti-freeze. We wi accept the synthetic type of anti-freeze. Pease be very carefu to pace these in the propery marked receptaces. It wi cost the Town extra to hau away contaminated products. RIGHT-OF-WAY ENCROACHMENTS The Town of Lisbon prohibits the pacement of obstruction and encroachments within the pubic right-of-way. The pubic right-of-way is the and containing street pavement and the grass ditch ine from the shouder to the front of the property ine. Obstructions are described as trees, andscape pantings, fences, posts, poes, temporary signs, bagged yard waste or rocks. Burning permits expire yeary on December 31 and are required for any outdoor burning, this incudes backyard bonfires as we as portabe fire pits. REMINDER TO NOT DEPOSIT DEBRIS ON THE ROAD It is a town ordinance (3.04a) to not deposit any foreign matter, which grass cippings and eaves woud be considered, on any town roads. They pose a safety concern for peope on bicyces and motorcyces. It is easy to prevent the cippings from fying into the street by mowing with the discharge chute aimed back at the yard. If you don t want the cippings in your yard, just rake them up. They do add nutrients to your awn if eft aone. It s inevitabe that some grass wi fy astray and end up on the roadway, that s understandabe. But when there are cumps and pies, that is batant disregard for others safety. Be a good neighbor and make certain that you don t eave cippings in the street. Use a bower and bow them back into your yard or use a broom and sweep them up, or cut in a manner that the grass gets thrown away from the street.
