The riders needed to burn up time so a proposal was made and all where in agreement that the group would ride to Parys on the R500 and then onto Potchefstroom along the R53 and then take the R501 Boskop road and stop off at Provence to wet the throats before moving on towards Diggers Inn for the Brunch. Provence was discovered by Philip and Belinda some 2 weeks back on a Sunday whilst on route to Potchefstroom and when feeling a wee bit peckish. After the meal they posted a few photos [Photo Above & on Left] of the meal and seating. They duly recommended it as a great Pit Stop venue. As the group pulled into in parking area Dawie decided to show Rene [riding Pillion] that a Harley can go agricultural when his Harley side stand connected and ploughed a large brick out the ground causing the HD into levitating somewhat in the air before coming down safely so it would seem as if he had planned that move down to a T and leaving Rene rather wide eyed as she had nearly lost her nails clawing onto Dawie whilst airborne. We were quickly seated inside. Trudie was rather upset missing out on the run but she had her other CAP on for the weekend as DA Chairperson of the Ward 28 & was busy helping out at the Jongspan School with the final Voter Registrations. 3 Sunday Brunch Run Digger Inn 27 January 2019 Members studied the Menu at Provence and were surprised at the very reasonable prices. An example as below: No to Coffee - Ice Cold Savanna Dry hits its mark Whilst gearing up getting ready to leave Provence the general comments being that this establishment meets the requirements and should be added to the list as a future Pit Stop. The group left Provence at approx 10h45 for Diggers Inn. Nicky nominated himself as the sweeper and Allan would take the lead relying on his Motorrad Navigator V backed up closely by Gerald with his new BMW Motorrad Navigator VI. And the rest falling in between. 13x Members, Family & Friends having something wet for the throat. Arrived at Diggers Inn just after 11h35 and were greeted by two very friendly and howling dogs. Must have been warning Beverly that the group had arrived. The West Wits group of 13 were the only patrons at the venue on Sunday and thank goodness a phone call had been made on the Saturday making the booking else there just could have been a problem regarding service. Beverly invited all to go into the bar and place their orders for the drinks and food. With drinks in hand the group went and took up seats outside in the strong breeze blowing from the north. 4 Sunday Brunch Run Digger Inn 27 January 2019 We sat down to have a cold one and chin wag to catch up with what has being going on of late and whilst waiting for the kitchen to prepare the meals ordered. The food was duly served hot and on tasting was somewhat mediocre in taste indicating there was a WOW ingredient missing. Or maybe the chapter members have become somewhat spoilt at other venues. Two of the dishes served looked great there was no excess fat/oils and the chips were well cooked however the sauce in the bowl also just missed having the WOW factor. Maybe its because we not used to covering the meals with tomato or mustard sauces? After the brunch was done and dusted the conversation went around taking an alternative road back to Cville. All agreed to take a right turn out of Diggers and head for Kerkskraal and right onto the N14 and then turning onto the R500 to Cville. The roads were rather testing with many large potholes. Fortunately no bike hit any large potholes as the leading bike was exercising overtime pointing out the dangers areas. Still it was a super day out shared with great friends. The first home safe reports were posted onto the Chat Group at 14h16. Just over 200 kms covered for the day. All reported home safe. Page 4

5 NEW BIKE ANNOUNCEMENT 25 January 2019 Gerald had mentioned late last year that he was keen on the new GS 1250 model due to be launched early in He was thinking of ordering a brand new 2019 BMW R1250GS HP full spec bike. But then it went quiet. Gerald, we hear, drove to the BMW Motorrad Dealership in Rustenburg on Friday 25 January 2019 and where he discovered was one of the lucky 5 who had their brand new Beemers keys & Birth Certificates handed over to them at the official launch of the new 1250 model. Then he made the announcement on the Chat Group and attached a few photos. Wow & what a bike it is. The Chapter wishes Gerald & Beatrix all the very best and that they have many safe and trouble free kilometres with their new Beemer. Oh and Gerald is still hanging onto his K1300GT Tourer, just in case. West Rand Pensioners Breakfast Run Tuesday 29 January 2019 Yet another great get together of Pensioners for the weekly Tuesday s Brekfis Run as it has become known. This week there were 11 on the ride to Die Plaas Se Gat situated along the R560 in the Skeerport area. The group photo was to show how many different clubs & patches come together, enjoy a good ride and a meal together and all the while furthering the brotherhood. If you are off work on a Tuesday and want to join in then contact Gerald or Allan. All arrived home safe. Page 5
