Valley of Waves Taking guard at Sun City ROUTE The train route goes from Cape Town via Bellville, Wellington, Worcester, Laingsburg, Beaufort West, De Aar, Kimberley and Klerksdorp to Krugersdorp. The bus route goes from Krugersdorp to Buffelspoort, Sun City, Hartbeespoort Dam and back to Johannesburg Airport. (The route may change without prior notice). The flight is from JHB to CPT. BUSSES We only make use of reputable bus companies with good safety records and back-up services in place when needed. Comfortable luxury buses are used. EXCURSIONS The following entry fees during excursions are included in the tour price: Van Gaalen Cheese factory and Sun City. The others are either free of charge or for your own pocket. 5 Cable car ACCOMMODATION We ll be staying for one night on the train, four nights in chalets at the ATKV Buffelspoort Resort (outside the town of Mooinooi, near Rustenburg) and again one night on the train. Click here for more information about the resort. Due to bus capacity constraints, each tour is limited to a maximum of 46 people. Passengers will be accommodated in a 4-bed compartment or 2- ACCOMMODATION ON THE TRAIN bed coupe on the train (Trans Karoo Tourist Class train). The number of coupes on the train is limited. You ll be accommodated in a 4-bed chalet with ACCOMMODATION AT BUFFELSPOORT RESORT two bedrooms. Each chalet has got a bedroom with a double or twin beds, a second bedroom with 2 x single beds, a lounge/living area and kitchen, one bath room with toilet, TV plus outside BBQ. 6 FACILITIES AT BUFFELSPOORT RESORT Apart from an indoor heated pool, as well as outside pools, you can enjoy hiking trails, mini golf, tennis, table tennis, squash, Super tube, trampolines, Jacuzzi, bird-watching, horseback riding, volleyball, pool, as well as a games arcade. Remember to bring your own tennis and squash gear. Limited WiFi available. A licensed restaurant, convenience store, beauty clinic, sports bar, as well as a laundry and ATM, fast food restaurant and off-sales ensure that you don t need to go shopping elsewhere during the period at the resort. Indoor heated pool Outdoor pool PARKING We suggest that you park your vehicle at the Cape Town Airport (long term parking) before departure of the tour, take the MyCity bus from the airport to Cape Town station and join the train tour. 8 Provisional PROGRAMME Sun City and Magaliesberg Region Train, Bus & Flight Tour from Cape Town Day 1 Sun On arrival at the CPT station at 09:15 you ll be welcomed by the tour guide. Board the train, unpack, make yourself comfortable and start enjoying the trip. The tour guide will visit you in your compartment and you can start preparing for your welcome dinner (included in tour price). Other passengers will join us en route. Enjoy the scenery from your train s window. The train travels overnight. Day 2 - Mon After breakfast on the train we ll disembark at Krugersdorp at midday, board the bus and travel to Buffelspoort. En route some interesting places will be seen. The evening is at leisure and dinner is served (included in the tour price). Overnight at Buffelspoort Resort. Distance by bus today: 180 km Day 3 - Tues The bus departs after breakfast for Sun City. This Hotel, Casino and Holiday complex in the Bushveld is enigmatic. The glitz and glamour, as well as the two beautiful golf courses where the annual Nedbank Challenge are being played, as well as the huge casino and water world is just amazing. The Palace Hotel caters for the rich and famous. Enjoy the Valley of Waves or try your luck at one of the gambling tables or slot machines. The Botanical Gardens and Crocodile Farm are both worthwhile visiting as well. Late afternoon we return to Buffelspoort and overnight again at the resort. Dinner is served and is included in the tour price. Distance by bus today: 174 km Day 4 Wed Today you are at leisure at the resort. Explore the resort and enjoy the facilities that are on offer: Heated indoor pool and cold water outdoor pool, tennis and squash courts, Jacuzzi, mini golf and 9-hole mashie golf course. Horse riding and a hiking trail is available as well. Dinner is served and is included in the tour price. Overnight at Buffelspoort Resort. Distance by bus today: 0 km pg. 8

9 Day 5 Thurs Table Mountain has got its cable car and so does the Magaliesberg just above the Hartbeespoort Dam. We ll visit the Van Gaalen cheese factory, drive past Pecanwood golf course estate and Pelindaba (the uranium enrichment plant) on wards to the Dutch Jasmyn shop. Then to the cable car taking you up the Magaliesberg and enjoying a beautiful view over the Hartbeespoort Dam or visit the close by zoo. A visit to Tant Malie se Winkel (selling homemade jams, yesteryears sweets, ginger ale and much more) and the Chameleon market (time permitting) will round off the day before returning to the Buffelspoort Resort for the final overnight. Dinner is served and is included in the tour price. Distance by bus today: 160 km Day 6 - Fri Today we head back to Johannesburg to board the flight mid-afternoon. The flight departs for Cape Town at 11:50. However, en route to the airport we ll briefly visit the Monte Casino complex in Fourways, Sandton. (Pending the traffic & time permitting). This is an Italian like neighbourhood with plenty to see and eat. A bird park with many beautiful birds may be visited as well.
