2 Definitions FRA A specified airspace within which users may freely plan a route between a defined entry point (E) and a defined exit point (X), with the possibility to route via intermediate waypoints (X) without reference to the ATS route network. Within this airspace, flights remain subject to air traffic control. FRA Entry Point (E) A published point on the horizontal boundary of the FRA from which FRA operations are allowed. FRA Exit Point (X) A published point on the horizontal boundary of the FRA to which FRA operations are allowed. FRA Intermediate Point (I) A published point via which FRA operations are allowed. Intermediate point may be used to (but they don t have to) connect FRA operations to/with ATS Route Network. Full list of FRA Entry Points, FRA Exit Points and FRA Intermediate Points is available in the AIP Poland (table 4.4). Each of included point has its symbol: E (Entry), X (Exit), I (Intermediate). Apllicability of FRA Lateral and vertical limits: Polish virtual (VATSIM) airspace, from FL095 to FL660, except: - all TMA airspaces, - delegation of CTA01, CTA02, CTA03, CTA04, CTA05 Airspace clasification: POLFRA in Warszawa FIR is implemented only in/as Class C airspace. Time: POLFRA in FIR Warszawa is applicable H24. Access to/from terminal airspace / free route airspace Entering the Free Route Airspace should be planned via: - a FRA Departure Connecting Point /or/ - a SID Final Point [in most cases*] /or/ - if required, the last point on a FRA connecting route /or/ - a FRA Entry Point if departing from aerodrome in the proximity of FIR EPWW /or/ - if no suitable SID is available, via definied FRA Intermediate Point (I) within a required distance from the aerodrome according to the RAD Exiting the Free Route Airspace should be planned via: - a FRA Arrival Connecting Point /or/ - a STAR initial Waypoint [in most cases*] /or/ - if required, the first point on a FRA connecting route /or/ - a FRA Exit Point (X) if arriving to an aerodrome in the proximity of FIR EPWW /or/ - if no suitable STAR is available, via defined FRA Intermedia Point (I) within a required distance from the aerodrome according to the RAD. * The are few exceptions to this rule detailed in chapter Mandatory Connecting Routes Not for operational in real life use POLFRA Page 1 of 9
