2 PBN implementation plan, based on the specifications of the airspace of the Republic of Armenia, has been developed in accordance with Resolution A36-23, approved by the 36 th ICAO Assembly Session in September of The national plan has been developed based on the PBN Manual specifications (Doc ICAO).

3 BENEFITS PBN offers a number of advantages over the sensor-specific method of developing airspace and obstacle clearance criteria Reduces the need to maintain sensor-specific routes and procedures, and their associated costs Avoids the need for development of sensor-specific operations with each new evolution of navigation systems, which would be cost-prohibitive Allows for more efficient use of airspace Clarifies the way in which RNAV systems are used Facilitates the operational approval process for operators by providing a limited set of navigation specifications intended for global use

10 ANNEX 15. CHAPTER 10. ELECTRONIC TERRAIN AND OBSTACLE DATA Note. Electronic terrain and obstacle data are intended to be used in the following air navigation applications: a) Ground proximity warning system with a terrain evaluation function in the direction of flight and a minimum safe altitude warning system (MSAW) b) Construction of instrument flight procedures (including a circuit in a circle) c) Drafting of aeronautical charts and airborne databases These data can also be used for other applications, such as flight simulators and vision systems, and can assist in determining the limitation of the relative height or removal of obstacles posing a threat to air navigation.

17 IMPLEMENTATION RNAV(GNSS) procedures were published in AIP Armenia 13th December In accordance with the conditions specified in the airspace of the Republic of Armenia, the following PBN characteristics were used as the first stage. 1 RNAV5 - Implemented on the basis of all sensors in the "Yerevan" FIR at all flight routes 2 RNAV1 - Implemented on the basis of GNSS sensors in the "Yerevan" TMA at all routes of departure and arrival SIDs and STARs 3 RNP APCH - Implemented on the basis of GNSS sensors in TMA for RWY ends 09 and 27 at the Zvartnots airport for all equipped aircraft 4 APV Baro VNAV - Implemented in TMA for RWY09 at Zvartnots airport for all aircraft equipped with VNAV equipment

18 IMPLEMENTATION As a second phase of PBN implementation in 26th of May 2016, RNAV (GNSS) procedures were published in AIP Armenia. A plan was to implement the PBN in Gyumri "Shirak" and also upgrade Yerevan "Zvartnots" for RWY27 by applying A-RNP. 1 RNAV1 - implemented on the basis of GNSS sensors in "Gyumri" TMA for all SIDs and STARs 2 RNP APCH - implemented on the basis of GNSS sensors in the "Gyumri" TMA for the RWY ends 02/20 at the airport "Shirak" for all aircraft equipped 3 APV Baro VNAV - implemented in Gyumri TMA for RWY ends 02/20 at the airport Shirak" for all aircraft equipped with VNAV equipment 4 A-RNP APCH is implemented on the basis of GNSS sensors in Yerevan TMA for the RWY27 at the Zvartnots airport for all aircraft equipped with
