2 The power access and diversification project which consists of credit (parent project) and grant H5740 (additional financing I) has known three major developments since the last ISR. (a) The project (both the credit and the grant) underwent a formal restructuring, which included: - An extension of the closing date of the project by 9 months from June 30, 2013 until March 31, 2014; and - A reallocation of funds to finance consulting activities needed to strengthen project implementation capacity and additional project operating costs in order to cover the Project Management Unit s costs until the new closing date. (b) All activities planned under Additional Financing I (AF I) are now committed. (c) A second Additional Financing (AF II) was successfully negotiated on April 16, 2012 and presented to the Board on June 12, AF II, which is supported by the Crisis Response Window, is an emergency project meant as a disaster mitigation mechanism that would prevent electricity and water shortages.
