1 WOMEN S CLUB NEWSLETTER Volume 72, Issue 4 website: wings.buffalo.edu/org/womens April 2014 From the President... UPCOMING PROGRAMS As I compose my final President s Message, I m reflecting on the past two years. I am so thankful for being able to work with such an outstanding group of women. Whenever I sent an requesting help someone always answered. We accomplished a great deal as we raised money for the Grace Capen Fund. I would like to thank everyone on the board, and all the other members who offered their time and expertise to keep the UB Women s Club functioning. Our club will be in very capable hands next year, with Mary Laing as President and Betty Schaertel as Vice President. Please continue to give them your support. I hope to see you all at our Spring Luncheon at the Buffalo Yacht Club on May 17 th. A reservation form can be found in this newsletter. Finally, remember we always need new members so continue to tell everyone about us and bring them to our New Members Reception in August. Linda Eaton May 17 (Saturday)... 11:00 am SPRING LUNCHEON & INSTALLATION OF OFFICERS Location: Buffalo/Yacht Club 1 Porter Ave, Buffalo, NY Look for reservation in this Newsletter Co-Chairs: Mary Ellen Dye, Dianne Burns May 22 (Thursday)... Noon - 5:00 pm SPRING FLOWER DISTRIBUTION Location: UB Center for Tomorrow Order Form in this Newsletter Chair: Marion Schultz NOMINATING COMMITTEE The Nominating Committee, with the help of other Board Members, has been largely successful in recruiting volunteers to fill Board Member positions for the coming year. We are truly appreciative of all those who have come forward to fill positions on the Board. At this time, we only need a Chair for Hospitality to complete our proposed roster. The person who volunteers for this position would be responsible for procuring chairpersons for four meetings/luncheons and provide assistance in making the arrangements for those luncheons. There are chairpersons who have already volunteered for three out of the four events! Please consider volunteering for this position. It would be wonderful to have a complete roster prior to the May 17 th Spring Luncheon & Installation of Officers event. Debra Berger Nominating Committee Chair 1
