Lesley has published her second book of verse, of which she had copies available to purchase tonight. Lesley lightheartedly entertained us with just a few of her Irreverent Verses as she describes them. Lesley originally from the UK has resided in and around Kwinana for many years. President Max is apparently by his own description working hard in Timor see later in this bulletin for a pictorial report. Rotaract Garage Sale is on this weekend at Mike Nella s home. Mike has a huge collection of second- hand goods available so get yourself along and check it out, proceeds will support their Indonesian School Project. 2 Club President 2015/16 Max Bird President s Pen Club Meeting 14 th September 2015 President Report 1. PP Michael is doing a great job while I am away thanks mate. 2. Tom Hoyer and I attended the Rotary club of Dili s meeting on Tuesday night, was a good night. 3. Michael Nella is looking at a inter club visit to Kalgoorlie. the three Kalgoorlie Clubs are looking at a combined meeting on Saturday 21 st November 2015, this will a good opportunity for the old farts to use up some free passes on the train and share some great company, let s get behind Mike on this. 4. A combined meeting of the zone 4 Rotary Clubs, is currently been planned for Saturday November 15 th with all five clubs holding a joint meeting at the Darius Wells centre, it will be a great night, 18 Club members and Partners have already registered to attend we are already in excess of 50 attending, get in quick. PP John Brennan Membership Club Meeting on Monday 14 th September guest speaker was Lesley Adams, (poetry) very entertaining evening. PDG John Iriks Community Rotaract are having another Monster Garage Sale scheduled for 18, 19, 20 th September 2015, please let Mike Nella have anything you no longer require and they will sell it on the day. Wellard Markets were on last Sunday, about 20 stalls, nice day. A number of new signs will appear around town promoting our markets. The next Wellard Village Markets will be held on Sunday 11 th October PP Genevieve Carr Vocational Lolly Run 2015 planning underway, waiting for road use permission, similar budget to last year. More volunteers required to service new areas. 4 Way Test promotion continuing, Gilmore College looking favorable. Pres. Max Bird International October 26 th Vocational visit to Requatic Centre, dinner after at the Admiral, 8pm, Genevieve will organise with Admiral to preorder meals to cut waiting time. Admiral is hosting an outdoor concert and wish to use our traffic management authority, PP Ian is liaising with Admiral manager. Lorraine Lucas Youth Lorraine reported that we had three participants at RYPEN last weekend and all had a fantastic time and can t wait to be invited to tell us about their experience. 6 Fine Session Sergeant: PP Stephen Castelli Greg W: Had Sergeant Stephen down as an apology for tonight, not so Greg!! Sam C: Heard screaming at some dogs, that s all I know?? Wendy C: For telling us that there were 11 candidates for 4 council positions. Dockers and Eagles all had to pay up Matt W: Got done for moving the sergeant s chair. Bob T: Sam C: Welcome back Bob, been missing for a while. Again fined for engaging the catering staff in protracted conversation. Bob C: Couldn t find the fines box when it was right in front. What happened to your investigational powers? Genevieve C: Looking quite spiff with her matching pink top and bag. Bob T: Seen recently with a suspect wet patch blamed on a leaking water bottle. Brian Mc: For having recently received the spoils from Samsung that Colleen won some time ago. Wendy C: For taking the opportunity to run a publicity spot promoting the Kwinana Local Government Elections coming up soon. Wendy also had her photo taken recently by a speed camera in a 50 zone. Michael M: Fined for wearing a tie tonight. (My how times have changed, Ed) Matt W: Recently just finished building a Spa on Wheels (might be a bit dodgy to tow Matt??) No Badge: Ian C and James. Greg W: Marge informed Greg that their printer was in need of new print cartridge. Greg s comment, That would be the black and white one Bob C: Fined by Wendy and had to own-up to a mishap at the Rotary shed today. When I met my wife I knew she was Miss Right I didn t know that her first name was Always

Approximately 200,000 polio workers are participating in the polio campaign, during which Vitamin A will also be distributed. The Prime Minister s Focal Person on Polio Eradication, Senator Ayesha Raza Farooq, monitored the campaign in various areas of Islamabad including urban and rural slums, reminding administrators that there would be zero tolerance for negligence. Our priority is to reach out each and every child so that no child remains unvaccinated during this nationwide polio drive, said Senator Farooq during her visit. Nine campaigns are planned during September 2015 to May 2016 and every campaign is critically important to stop polio virus transmission. "I watched my wife's routine at breakfast for years," the expert explained. "She made lots of trips between the fridge, stove, table and cabinets, often carrying a single item at a time. One day I told her, "You're wasting too much time. Why don't you try carrying several things at once?" "Did it save time?" the guy in the audience asked. "Actually, yes," replied the expert. "It used to take her 20 minutes to make breakfast. Now I do it in ten."

8 Guest Speaker: Poet Lesley Adams Introduction by PP James Sharkey. Originally from the UK Lesley has lived in and around Kwinana for many years. Lesley treated us to a 30 minute rendition of some of her poems contained in her recently published book of verse. Irreverent Verses the book is titled, it contains about 60 poems, many inspired by the daily happenings from Lesley s working, family and home experiences. Most are very entertaining and amusing. 9 Some of the happy faces at our meeting on Monday 14 th September 2015 Ireland 's worst air disaster occurred early this morning when a small two-seater Cessna plane crashed into a cemetery. Irish search and rescue workers have recovered 1826 bodies so far and expect that number to climb as digging continues into the night.

11 The BBQ It s the only type of cooking a "real" man will do. When a man volunteers to do such cooking, the following sequence of events takes place: 1. The woman goes to the shops to buy the food; 2. The woman fixes the salad, vegetables, and dessert; 3. The woman prepares the meat for cooking, places it on a tray along with the necessary cooking utensils, and takes it to the man, who is lounging beside the BBQ drinking a beer; 4. The man places the meat on the grill; 5. The woman goes inside to set the table and check the vegetables; 6. The woman comes out to tell the man that the meat is burning; 7. The man takes the meat off the grill and hands it to the woman; 8. The woman prepares the plates and brings them to the table; 9. After eating, the woman! clears the table and does the dishes; 10. The man asks the woman how she enjoyed "her night off." And, upon seeing her annoyed reaction, concludes that there s just no pleasing some women.
