6 CLUB SURVEY RESULTS WHAT ARE THE CLUB S STRENGTHS? The friendliness of the members The good financial position Experience of members WHAT ARE THE CLUB S WEAKNESS? Flexibility of the running of the meeting, formality, adoption of new strategies ie: technology Marketing ourselves in the community Rely too much on Craft Fair for our income Involving all members in club meeting & project decisions HOW CAN WE CONTAIN WEEKLY COST? Half felt cost was okay Half were in favour of looking at ways to contain costs, especially as the cost could be a barrier for younger members MEETINGS AT ROTARY PAVILION General consensus is that it is a good idea Would be a way of possibly containing costs with other groups in the community catering. Cost needs to be less than at present CLUB SURVEY RESULTS WHAT CAN WE DO TO MAKE THE CLUB MORE ATTRACTIVE TO YOUNG PEOPLE? More general fellowship Less formality and protocol Time required to commit Target year olds, follow up participants of Rotary projects eg: MUNA, RYLA, NYSF, Group Study Exchange Ask young people what they want New club less formal for younger members WHAT DO WE WANT TO ACHIEVE IN THE NEXT 3-5 YEARS? Look at other fundraising avenues Continue support of the community, engage the community in our events Increase community projects, working bees and highlight our involvement in the community Have more interclub meetings and vocational visits Continue the Craft Fair, work with other community groups eg: Apex & Lions Encourage younger members. Survive, modernise DO WE NEED TO CONSIDER CHANGES IN THE RUNNING AND CONTENT OF THE WEEKLY MEETINGS? Most members are happy with the way the meeting runs & content Maybe can change meeting format to give guest speaker plenty of time and keep meeting on time. Less formality and protocol JClub joke and fines, need to be able to screen suitability, some unfavourable fines while eating a meal. Do we need the Toast and the National Anthem? OXYMORONS 25. Why doesn't glue stick to the inside of the bottle? 26. Why do they call it a TV set when you only have one? 27. Christmas - What other time of the year do you sit in front of a dead tree and eat candy out of your socks? 28. Why do we drive on a parkway and park on a driveway? I dunno, why do we?
