2 Description of Salon PPS trade fair/symposium de Prévoyance The 2nd Pillar trade fair/symposium is held in Zurich in the even-numbered years, while the Salon PPS trade fair/symposium takes place in Lausanne in the odd-numbered years. The 2nd Pillar trade fair/symposium lasts two days and offers a platform for about 60 to 100 exhibitors. Exhibitors at the 2nd Pillar trade fair/symposium include the most important actors in the 2nd Pillar such as financial institutions, insurance companies, IT firms, consulting firms and real-estate providers. Apart from the stands, the 2nd Pillar trade fair/symposium offers an extensive yet clearly-presented symposium with leading figures from the pensions world and controversial topics. Target audience Pension fund managers and executives Pension fund boards of trustees Pension fund experts Auditors Brokers CEOs and CFOs of companies concerned by the topic of occupational benefits Exhibitors clients The 800 to 900 visitors in Lausanne and the 2,300 to 2,500 visitors in Zurich pick up suggestions for their occupational benefits institution and are able to visit a large number of providers in the space of two days and attend presentations at the Symposium. The two days of the Symposium have a similar structure: In the morning there will be three input presentations, a panel discussion (Arena) and a one-to-one discussion/interview; in the afternoon there will be a theme slot (with an eminent speaker), an input presentation and a panel discussion (Arena). 5 Choice of topics/symposium programme The Symposium will focus, in keeping with the target audience, on topics that are relevant to pension fund decision-makers. The trade fair s first day will be devoted to the topics Definition of benefits and policy. It will look at issues concerning the liability side of balance sheets, such as key risk figures or questions relating to the conversion rate. In addition, one question that will be examined is how political solutions are reached at the federal level the current retirement pension system provides some illustrative material for this purpose. The second day of the trade fair will take a look at Investments and innovations. The event s venue (STCC) provides various examples of innovations. This goes hand in hand with the question of how innovations (for example start-ups) are financed and what pension funds can and should contribute to this. Description of advertisement The special edition Salon PPS/Symposium will be published about one month before the trade fair. In addition to the detailed trade fair programme, it will contain preparatory articles on the topics covered in the trade fair s supporting programme. Only exhibitors at the Salon PPS have the possibility of advertising here.
