2 Los Cabos, Mexico January 29 February 1, 2017 Who We Are The WCR&HCA has three member organizations representing the heavy construction industry in Western Canada: the Alberta Roadbuilders & Heavy Construction Association, the Saskatchewan Heavy Construction Association and the Manitoba Heavy Construction Association. The WCR&HCA is an active member of the Canadian Construction Association. Mission Statement Our mission is to advocate the need for strategic investments in Canada s core infrastructure and transportation networks to help grow Canada s economy. Our work is guided by our mission statement: Committed advocate for economic and industry growth. WCR&HCA Priorities 1 Continue to advocate linkages between sustained and strategic infrastructure investment and the nation s economic health and social well-being. 2. Support strategic infrastructure investment approaches to grow municipal economies within large urban centres such as those represented by the Big City Mayors Caucus. 3. Establish ongoing relationship and presence between the WCR&HCA, the Provincial Municipal Associations and Western Big City Mayors Caucus to explore all aspects of sustained and predictable infrastructure investment strategies. 4. Advocate the principles underpinning the New West Partnership, which support inter-provincial cooperation on economic development, as worthy of application in the context of strategic infrastructure investment approaches. 5. Support development of an Aboriginal Engagement Best Practices Guideline to assist Canada s Aboriginal peoples meaningful entry into mainstream construction industry commerce. 6. With respect to the Annual WCR&HCA Conventions, the most important priority is to continue approaches to attract more contractors to attend. 2

Where the West Meets continues to build a strong educational program comprised of both plenary and workshop sessions. Speakers include nationally-recognized individuals presenting keynote sessions, as well as industry experts providing engaging educational workshops. Previous sessions have included such topics as: Off the Road Tire Management; Enterprise Risk Management; Preparing for Succession; Western Canada: Building from Strength / Building on Advantage; and Civil Construction Future Trends and Influences. WCR&HCA 2017 Convention The WCR&HCA 2017 Convention will take place in Los Cabos, Mexico from January 29 to February 1, Located at the southern tip of the Baja California Peninsula, it is also known as Land s End. The region offers unparalleled natural beauty, biodiversity and a wide range of amenities and activities. 3

10 Los Cabos, Mexico January 29 February 1, 2017 SPONSORSHIP TERMS AND CONDITIONS Acceptance of this contract by the WCR&HCA is effective when a copy of this contract is signed by an authorized representative of your organization and returned to the WCR&HCA. Once the contract is accepted, the application will constitute a binding agreement upon the applicant, subject to the terms, rules and regulations set forth in this contract. Fees and Payments Sponsorship costs are listed on the WCR&HCA 2017 Sponsorship Application Form. Payment is due within 30 days of the issue date of the invoice. If payment is not received within 30 days, WCR&HCA will not guarantee the availability of the sponsorship opportunity assigned beyond this date. Sponsors with an outstanding balance due at the time of their assigned event may be prohibited from participation until payment is made. Said prohibition does not constitute cancellation for either party and advance fees will not be refunded. Applications will be accepted in order of receipt. In the case of conflicting simultaneous submissions, WCR&HCA reserves the right to determine the final assignment. If the requested sponsorship is unavailable, the applicant will be advised of alternate selections available. If there are no alternate selections of like cost available, the applicant will receive a full refund (no administrative fees imposed). Cancellation Policy Cancellations must be received in writing and will result in a refund based on the following schedule: 120 days or more before the beginning of the Convention (January 29, 2017), a full refund minus a $200 administration fee days before the Convention, a 50% refund 60 days or less before the Convention, no refund will be provided The WCR&HCA reserves the right to reassign sponsorships upon receipt of written cancellation. Sponsorships not paid by the Convention start date are subject to cancellation at the WCR&HCA s discretion.
