A zine, shrthand fr a d-it-yurself magazine, is any kind f printed writing, phtgraphy r artwrk that is independently cnstructed and self-published. There s n limit t what cntent zines can include, and they re a great frm f self-explratin and self-expressin. In Anaheim, we re frtunate t hst this annual cuntywide festival fr the secnd time. The festival nt nly brings artists and authrs frm all ver, it als is a great chance t highlight lcal talent. At least ne Anaheim authr will even be highlighted n a panel discussin this year. Statin N. 5, the newest f Anaheim Fire & Rescue s 11 statins acrss the city, celebrated its grand pening in late July. The statin marks a new chapter fr emergency respnse services in Anaheim while rekindling sme ties t the past. Fr Anaheim Fire & Rescue Deputy Fire Chief Tim O Hara, the new statin brings back memries. O Hara, wh versaw the building and pening f Statin N. 5, gt his first real jb as a bx by at Sprtsman Spirits, a market that nce std in the exact lcatin f the new statin. Having grwn up just dwn the street, I knw this area well, O Hara said. It s s satisfying t knw that this piece f grund will nw allw us t better help thse we serve.
