6 Description St Micheal s Convent comprises an impressive Grade II Listed, extended, former residential dwelling which commands a prominent position overlooking the historic Ham Common. The original part of the property latterly known as Orford Hall dates back to 1730 when it was built for a Mr William Genew. The property changed hands many times before becoming the home of the Sisters of the Church in The original part of the building is constructed of brown brick with red brick dressing with timber sash windows and a pitched slate roof.
