6 Transportation Recommendation: Use of local Public Transportation System within Berlin instead of hiring a car! For the public transportation system, Berlin is divided into several zones. The zones you probably need are A (Berlin s whole inner city including the S-Bahn-ring S-Bahn is a fast city train) and B (reaches up to the city boundary). Zone C extends to the city of Potsdam! Here you can find an interactive map of the route network (underground and city train). We recommend choosing one of the following tickets: 1) Berlin Welcome Card, valid for 72 hours within the zones A and B, price: 16,50 - this card also includes a city guide, a city map and discounts of up to 50% for more than 130 tourist and cultural sights. The same card for the zones ABC costs 18,50. 2) Berlin Welcome Card, valid for 5 days, price: 29,50, same conditions as the Welcome Card valid for 72 hours. Zones ABC: 25 3) 7-day pass, valid for 7 days within the zones A and B, price: 26,20 - without any guide, map or special offers. Pass for zones ABC: 32,30. You can buy these tickets at the Tourist information/ Berlin info stores, at public transport sales points in Berlin, at the Lufthansa City Centre at the Berlin airports and from public transport ticket machines.
