Aviation is contributing only to few percentage of total transport emissions but it is always at the forefront of R&TD and regulation to ensure a continuous reduction of environmental impact. The need to reduce CO 2 emission, the increasing oil cost, and the foreseen peak oil are pushing to develop new alternative fuels. The need to respect aviation strict requirements, to understand the environmental effects, to develop a sustainable life cycle for alternative fuels calls for R&TD, new investments, new business models. 6
