The htel, called Envisin Htel Bstn Everett, will pen in early Trinity Place: Bstn-based Saunders Htel Grup purchased the frmer Jhn Hancck Htel & Cnference Center and plans t restre and cnvert it int an upscale butique htel. The Bstn Redevelpment Authrity apprved a 140,000 SF butique htel in Brightn at Bstn Landing, which will be a 1.43 millin mixed-use develpment. The Bstn Redevelpment Authrity (BRA) apprved develpment f a 23-stry, 346-rm Marritt Mxy Htel in Bstn s Theater District right next t the Wilbur Theatre. The BRA tw years apprved a 247-rm htel fr 315 Nrthern Ave., acrss frm the Blue Hills Bank Pavilin, as part f a larger mixed-use develpment. Bstn Glbal Investrs (BGI) are develping an 11 stry, 326-rm YOTEL as part f the Suth Bstn Seaprt Square cmplex. Cnstructin began in the summer f 2015 and the htel is scheduled t pen in A 230-rm htel has been prpsed t replace a frmer 5-stry chain-making factry in Charlestwn. The BRA gave final develpment rights fr a Marritt Residence Inn n Melnea Cass Blvd t the Bstn design firm Urbanica. The htel will include 108 rms and 50 apartments and als feature 8,000 sf f retail space. Bylstn Prperties is building a 148-rm Marritt Residence Inn n Arsenal Street in Watertwn. Bstn Marritt Burlingtn cmpleted a multi-millin dllar renvatin. The 418-rm full-service htel nw basts 14,570 square feet f meeting space, stylish new furnishings and a new restaurant, Chpps American Bar and Grill. The Sheratn Cmmander Htel cmpleted a full remdel f guestrms, the club lunge, and a redesign f the lbby. This winter the htel will remdel hallways and install new elevatrs. The Liberty Htel underwent an $11 millin guestrm renvatin which redesigned guestrm flr plans with custm shwpiece furniture and fixtures alng with bespke accents and artwrk. The Ames Bstn Htel is underging a $5 millin verhaul f all 115 guest rms plus renvatins f public areas and the additin f new event and meeting space. Chef Mary Dumnt will pen Culvitar at the Ames. The Ryal Snesta Bstn has unveiled 28,000 sf f newly renvated meeting and event space with cntemprary furnishings and featuring views f the Charles River and Back Bay skyline. The Bstn Harbr Htel has cmpleted an exquisite renvatin f 230 newly designed guest rms and suites. Wimberly Interirs, a glbally recgnized leader in hspitality design, created a design aesthetic fr the guest rms and suites cmbining patterns, textures and clrs that are inspired by the natural beauty f Bstn s waterfrnt (pictured). The Bstn Civic Design Cmmissin issued final apprval fr three, 22-stry cnd/apartment twers and retail alng Seaprt Blvd near Cngress and B Streets. The $700 millin prject will feature buildings f staggered heights and varius shapes and will include 125,000 SF f retail space and 1,100 cnds and apartments. Cnry Develpment has been apprved t build a 250-rm butique htel and 304-unit apartment building fr Parcel K in the Seaprt District. The develpment will feature a 150,000-square-ft htel n the eastern side f the parcel, a 300,000-square-ft residential building n the western side, and 25,000 SF f retail. Tishman Speyer has purchased Lts 2 and 3 f the Pier 4 develpment. Lt 2 will be develped as a 13-stry ffice building encmpassing 353,000 RSF f ffice and 20,000 RSF grund flr retail. Lt 3 will be develped as a nine-stry cndminium building with 171,000 sellable SF f residential space and 17,000 RSF grund flr retail. Skanska USA brke grund July 9 n the 17-stry 121 Seaprt Blvd, a building with a sleek val-shaped twer set at a diagnal t the street, designed t pp ut frm the surrunding glass and brick rectangles that ppulate the Seaprt. 7 III Lgan Airprt and Transprtatin Updates In July 2014, Lgan Internatinal Airprt apprved a $100 millin renvatin f Terminal E t imprve service fr internatinal passengers. The prject includes a new cnnectin between Terminal C and E behind security, new selfservice kisks t prcess passprts, and better cncessin and vendr stands. In the fall f 2015 Massprt began the permitting prcess t create/recnfigure 130,000 sf in Terminal E t accmmdate the Airbus 380. Massprt hpes t add 5-7 new gates at Terminal E ver the next 5 years and als aims t add 5,000 parking spaces. Emirates Airline, which started nnstp service frm Dubai March 10, 2014, nw departs frm Terminal C and expanded t duble daily service Octber 1, China s Hainan Airlines nnstp service frm Beijing expanded t 5 days a week in the spring f WOW air began perating direct flights between Bstn and Reykjavik, Iceland five days a week n March 27, Cathay Pacific started service 4 days a week frm Hng Kng May 2 and will expand t 5 days May 5, Aermexic started nnstp service between Lgan and Mexic City n June 1, Hainan Airlines launched nn-stp flights frm Shanghai t Bstn 3 times a week n June 20, This will be Hainan s first nnstp flight frm Shanghai t any US city. El Al Israel Airlines launched direct service June 28 Tel Aviv Bstn flights n Tuesday, Thursday, and Sunday. Nrwegian Air began twice weekly service t Guadelupe and Martinique n December 3, 2015 and cmmenced service t Lndn-Gatwick n March 27. In May Nrwegian will begin service t Osl and Cpenhagen.
