1 HOLLAND: BIKE & BARGE 2019 SOUTHERN TOUR, MS DE AMSTERDAM Semi-Guided Cycle Tur 8 days/7 nights, Amsterdam t Amsterdam BIKE & BARGE thrugh the heart f Hlland. Visit the famus histrical twns and cities, and enjy many architectural and cultural highlights in the prvince f Zuid-Hlland. Althugh this is the mst densely ppulated part f the cuntry yu will be surprised when yu visit the small, picturesque twns and ride alng the cycle tracks thrugh the Green Heart and the small Lake District f Hlland. The Suthern tur is the perfect tur t explre the variety f scenery in the central part f the Netherlands with many small canals and lakes, and als the beautiful ld cities bth during the day and in the evening. Yu will travel n bard the De Amsterdam, a river cruise ship which has recently been refurbished fr cycling cruises in the Netherlands.

2 Highlights include: Amsterdam with its beautiful canals Rtterdam, the busiest prt in Eurpe Delft with its famus Delfware factries Guda cheese Windmills f Kinderdijk Schnhven the silver city Histrical centre f Haarlem Open air museum f Zaanse Schans. ITINERARY Day 1: (Saturday) Amsterdam Embarkatin begins at 2.00pm in the centre f Amsterdam. It is pssible t bring yur luggage t the bat earlier frm 9.30 am nwards. Yu will have plenty f time t explre the city, visit museums r take a canal tur (purchase discunted tickets nbard until 10.00pm). This is a unique way t see the capital f Hlland frm anther side. Overnight in Amsterdam Day 2: (Sunday) Amsterdam- Breukelen by bat Breukelen Utrecht (cycling apprx km) Afternn: Utrecht Rtterdam by bat (cycling apprx km) During breakfast we sail frm Amsterdam t Breukelen. Frm Breukelen we cycle alng the beautiful small river Vecht, where we are able t see nice villas, cttages and small castles. Alng the river int the centre f Utrecht with its Dm (cathedral) twer at 111m high. In the afternn, we cntinue by bat t Rtterdam, where in the evening we take a shrt walking tur f the city. Day 3: (Mnday) Rtterdam Schiedam Delft - Rtterdam (cycling apprx km) Tday the ship stays in Rtterdam. Yu cycle via Jenever-City Schiedam and thrugh the Delftland t Delft. Visit the beautiful city centre with its canals, picturesque streets, bridges and alleyways. Fr many, a visit t the Delftware factries Ryal Delft is ne f the highlights f the tur. In the evening, a shrt city walking tur is included. Day 4: (Tuesday) Rtterdam Alblasserdam/Kinderdijk by waterbus then cycle Kinderdijk Guda Schnhven (cycling apprx km) Take the fast ferry with yur bike and arrive in just 10 minutes in Alblasserdam. Cycle t Kinderdijk, a UNESCO Wrld Cultural

3 Heritage Site, with 19 windmills all in a line. Then yu have a chice between a shrt bike tur thrugh the Alblasserwaard t the Silver City f Schnhven n the river Lek, r a lnger bike tur visiting the cheese city f Guda. Bth turs end in Schnhven. Day 5: (Wednesday) Schnhven Oudewater Utrecht (cycling apprx. 45km) Afternn: Utrecht - Haarlem by bat We cycle frm Schnhven thrugh the beautiful Green Heart t Utrecht. We g thrugh Oudewater, where yu can visit the Witches Weigh Huse dating back t The scales in the weigh huse were used t weigh wmen alleged t be witches. Mst f them were cleared f the allegatin, fr even in thse days, few Dutch wmen weighed less than 50kg, and if a suppsed witch weighed mre than that she culd nt be a witch, since the brmstick wuld have brken under her weight. Near Oudewater yu can visit a traditinal cheese farm and buy delicius Guda cheeses. In the afternn we cruise t Haarlem, and in the evening enjy live music nbard. Day 6: (Thursday) Haarlem Nrth Sea Cast Haarlem (cycling apprx km) Evening: Haarlem Zaandam by bat Tday ffers tw bike turs, bth taking yu thrugh the beautiful Kennemer dunes, a natinal park, via Blemendaal and Zandvrt and alng the Nrth Sea Cast. The lnger rute leads t the largest steam engine in the wrld, the Cruquius pumping statin, and back t Haarlem. This evening we sail t Zaandam. Day 7: (Friday) Zaandam - Amsterdam (cycling 40-45km) Frm Zaandam yu will cycle t the pen air museum Zaanse Schans, where yu will find traditinal wden huses, windmills, cheese farm and clg (wden she) manufacturing. Cntinue the bike tur thrugh recreatinal area Twiske t Amsterdam. Yu will have the afternn and evening free in Amsterdam t d the things yu may nt have had the pprtunity t d befre the tur began. We recmmend the 1 hr Amsterdam Canal Tur, discunted tickets are available nbard. Cycling: 35km Day 8: (Saturday) Amsterdam Yur tur cncludes after breakfast A Typical day In the mrning, an extensive Dutch breakfast will be served and yu may make yu wn packed lunch (sandwiches, fruit, a snack and a drink). Between 9.00am and 10.00am yu will leave the ship t start yur cycling alng the scenic rutes. The ship will be sailing t the next meeting place. During self guided turs, with yur bicycle, map r tur dcumentatin

4 (included in the cst), yu can plan yur wn daily tur r with assistance frm the crew. The varius stps en-rute can be individually planned fr sightseeing, cffee and lunch breaks. At the end f yur bicycle day, the staff will welcme yu nbard where cffee and tea are available. In the evening a delicius three curse dinner will be served nbard. Drinks, such as wine, beer and sft drinks are available at a small charge frm the bar. Every evening yu will have the pprtunity t visit and explre a different twn r city r t share yur experiences with ther guests frm varius cuntries in the czy living rm, the bar r n the sun deck f the ship. Daily cycling distances may vary between apprximately 30 and 60 km. Mst rutes can be treated as easy, as majr parts f the cuntry are flat. Therefre, ur turs are suitable fr bth experienced, as well as nvice cyclists. These self guided turs are suitable fr thse wh d nt like t bike in a grup. Everyne can chse his r her wn speed and daily turs can be individually arranged r rganized accrding t yur persnal interests and fitness. On bard, yu will have many pprtunities t meet ther enthusiastic cyclists frm varius cuntries. The tur leader/guide des cycle during the day, and is cntactable by mbile, hwever, as everyne cycles at different speeds, the guide may have t rund up the stragglers, s it is nt pssible t stay with the guide all the time. The De Amsterdam can carry a maximum f 112 guests and fr departures with mre than 60 guests, there will be a secnd (assistant) tur leader. MS: DE AMSTERDAM De Amsterdam is a very well equipped river cruise ship with a length f 95 metres and 56 staterms (apprximately 11m²). All twin cabins have a private shwer and tilet, all with lwer single beds and air cnditining, a mini-safe and hairdryer. There are 10 twin and 20 superir twin cabins n the lwer deck and 18 identical superir twin cabins and 8 spacius French Balcny Suites n the upper deck (surcharge applies). The difference between the twin and superir cabins n the lwer deck is their lcatin in relatin t the engine rm, stairs and saln. All cabins have a large picture windw which can be partly pened. The suites (apprx. 15m²) have the same amenities as the superir twin cabins, but are larger and in additin have a mini-bar and a French balcny (flr t ceiling sliding glass drs) instead f a windw. The beds in the suites are set as a htel-style bed (duble bed 160 x 200cm), but can be set as twin beds n request. Twin cabins fr single use and triple cabins are limited and n request. De Amsterdam has a restaurant n the lwer deck, and yu can relax in the lunge/ bar with dance flr and panramic windws n the upper deck. On the large and partially cvered sun deck, there are tables and chairs and rm fr bike strage. Maximum 112 Passengers.
