1 Kabini Kabini is a river that riginates in the Wayanad district f Kerala and flws eastward twards Karnataka t jin river Cauvery. This is the largest river in the Nagarhle Natinal Park, which is a 644 sq. km. park that serves as hme t sme f the mst endangered wildlife species. The Kabini dam submerged large tracts f frest creating a huge lake, parts f which are within the natinal park. During the dry seasn, the lake dries ut, leaving nly the main river visible. The resulting pen plain creates an abundance f fresh grass, which has prved t be a bn fr the park, prviding fresh grass when the rest f the park is drying ut. Lcated at an altitude f 700 meters abve sea level, the average temperature in the regin ranges between 13 t 35 C (55 t 95 F), with the highest temperatures ccurring in April and May.
