Crimes and Law Enforcement THE BELOW LISTED INCIDENTS WERE SUBMITTED BY INDIVIDUALS OF BAYVIEW STATION: Monday, April 2, 2007 at 12:14 AM Warrant Arrest, Local SF Warrant Block of Cesar Chavez Street. CS# While driving a marked police vehicle, on the 2300 Block of Cesar Chavez Street, Sergeant Burke noticed a vehicle traveling in front of him without a rear license plate or DMV pink registration in process sticker. Sergeant Burke pulled the vehicle over and identified the driver with her California Driver s License. While he was speaking with the driver, he noticed that two other adults in the front seat had open bottles of beer in their possession. Sergeant Burke also saw that there were two young children in the back seat. The youngest child, about three years old, was not sitting in a child safety seat, nor was she restrained with a seatbelt. Sergeant Burke cited the driver. The driver then pulled a child safety seat from the trunk of her vehicle. The other two adult occupants did not have any identification on them. Sergeant Burke transported them to Bayview Station to identify them via the PIN Fingerprint machine. A computer check revealed that the male had a $30,000 narcotics warrant. Sergeant Burke confirmed the warrant through the Central Warrants Bureau and later booked the male at Bayview Station. Monday, April 2, 2007 at 8:24 AM Firearm, Turned in by Public Block of Newcomb Avenue. CS# Dispatch sent Officer Shavers and Officer Altorfer to the 1300 Block of Newcomb Avenue regarding a person who had found three firearms inside her house. When they arrived, they met with the resident who told them that she was moving out of her house. The resident said that as she was packing up her room, she noticed three firearms that she believed used to belong to her roommate who had since 4

5 deceased. Officers Shavers and Altorfer transported the firearms back to Bayview Station. Officer Shavers ran the serial numbers on the firearms through the Automated Weapons System with negative results. The firearms were booked into property for safekeeping at Bayview Station. Tuesday, April 3, 2007 at 3:23PM Cocaine, Base/Rock Offense, Narcotics Paraphernalia, Possession of, Controlled Substance Violation, Loitering for Block of Shafter Avenue. CS# While wearing plain clothes and driving an unmarked police vehicle, Officers Aherne, Alcaraz and Solares were driving on the 1500 Block of Shafter Avenue when they saw two male adults huddled together. Officer Solares recognized one of the males from several other police contacts. Officer Solares also had prior knowledge that this individual was on probation and had a search condition. Officer Alcaraz stopped the vehicle and all three Officers got out. It should be noted that all three Officers had their police stars clearly displayed on their outer most garment. Officer Aherne grabbed one of the males as he made a throwing motion with his right hand. Officer Solares saw several small rocks and crumbs of suspected cocaine base come out of the male s right hand and land on the street. After gaining control of the male he found two crack pipes on his person. While Officer Solares was arresting this individual, the other male took off running. As Officer Alcaraz was chasing the second male adult, he saw him open up his right hand and drop several off white small rocks and crumbs. Officer Alcaraz caught up with the male and was able to take him into custody using a department approved bar arm take down. Officer Aherne seized all the suspected narcotics that were on the ground. Both men were transported back to Bayview Station where a computer check revealed that they both had warrants. Both men were booked at Bayview Station. Thursday, April 5, 2007 at 10:37AM Suspicious Occurrence, Assault Aggravated, W/Gun, Robbery, Att., Street or Public Place, W/Gun. Potrero Hill Housing Area. CS# Officers Ferraez and Pascua responded to San Francisco General Hospital regarding a male that said he had been shot. The Officers met with the victim who stated that he was at his girlfriend s residence, located in the Potrero Hill Housing Area. The victim stated that while he was outside smoking a cigarette, two males approached him. The victim said that one of the males pulled out a gun and demanded money. The victim said that he tried to wrestle the gun away from the male when it went off, shooting him in the toe. The victim said that the two males then fled in an unknown direction. Friday, April 6, 2007 at 2:30AM Burglary, Hot Prowl, Forcible Entry Block of 19th Street. CS# Dispatch sent Officer Dicroce and Officer Catlett to the 1600 Block of 19th Street regarding a burglary. When the Officer s arrived, they met with the victim who stated that he was 5

6 awakened in the middle of the night by a loud noise. The victim said that he went downstairs to see what the noise was when he saw the front door to his residence, as well as the door leading to his garage, wide open. The victim said that he saw that his bicycle and camera were missing from garage. The Officers did not notice any signs of forced entry. The victim said that his house had been broken into before and he thought that the suspect may have used a key. Officer Catlett gave the victim a follow up form and additional loss form and advised the victim to change his door locks. Sunday, April 8, 2007 at 9:07AM Marijuana, Possession for Sale, Loitering Where Narcotics are Sold/Used Block of 3rd Street. CS# Officer Altorfer and Officer Shavers were on patrol in a marked police vehicle when they observed a male adult standing on the corner of 3rd Street and Palou Avenue. After driving around for about 45 minutes, they again saw the same male adult standing on the corner. There was a No Loitering sign clearly posted directly in-front of where the male was standing. Since this certain location is known for its high narcotics traffic, the Officers got out of their patrol vehicle and approached the male. The male lifted up his jacket to show the Officers that he wasn t concealing any weapons. When he lifted his jacket, the Officers noticed a plastic bag sticking out of the male s underwear. The male consented to a search and Officer Altorfer seized the plastic bag containing eight small individually wrapped plastic baggies of suspected marijuana. The male was placed under arrest and transported to Bayview Station. A computer check revealed that the male had been arrested on three other occasions, on the corner of 3rd Street and Palou Avenue, for possession for sales of marijuana. Phone Numbers and Web Sites S.
