2 THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW Volunteers Our ICPC host volunteers will be wearing red t-shirts and our host committee members will be wearing red polo shirts. We are here to help you. Please ask us for any help you need! Venues Opening and Closing Ceremony are held in Peking University Hall. The Contest is held at the Gymnasium. A campus map is enclosed in this pocket guide. Please ask us if you need directions to any of the venues of ICPC World Finals! REMEMBER TO WEAR YOUR BADGE! Buses Please check the bus schedule on the bulletin board in your hotel lobby. On PKU campus, all the shuttle buses unload and load at Yingjie Square. Please pay attention to the stops (to Crowne Plaza or Marco Polo or Sheraton) once you get on the bus. There will be signs on the bus to show the stops as well. Excursion Day (April 17 morning) As the most well-known attraction in China, the Great Wall is certainly the must-go place for you to visit. We have arranged Great Wall sightseeing on excursion day. Please do wear comfortable clothes and sneakers as there will be a long way to walk. Snacks and water are provided on the way. And after the excursion, you will have lunch in your hotel. Campus Tour (April 18 afternoon) Volunteers will guide you on a tour around PKU campus, followed by a sponsor showcase in Yingjie Exchange Center. If you are interested, please collect your ticket from, April 16th at the hospitality desk in the Sheraton Grand Beijing Dongcheng Hotel and gather at Yingjie Square (This is the staging area where our buses park) at 15:00, April 18th. You can pick up tickets for your team. Dining in the Gym (April 18, 19 noon) There will be 3 lunch box distribution spots in the north lobby on the 2nd floor of the Gym, each of which provides the same sets of meals. You can collect your lunch box at any spot. Please note that special meals (halal, vegan etc.) will only be distributed at the middle one. The dining tables will be set on both the 2nd and 3rd floor. The 3rd floor may provide a less crowded dining space. Bottled water will be on consistent supply at distribution spots. 2 3
