3 Overview The Notre Dame Beijing Global Gateway is located in Beijing s embassy and international business district. It is the base for expanding Notre Dame s academic programs and collaborations with universities, corporations, and government organizations throughout Asia. Dr. Jonathan Noble, Director of Beijing Global Gateway, leads a team of three experienced staff members, Tracy Huang, Gen Li, and Vivian Zhou. 5 Multi-Purpose Room The multi-purpose room is perfect for meetings of different sizes, seminars, lectures, and workshops. Depending on the set-up, the multi-purpose room can accommodate up to 32 people. Facilities in this room are listed as follows: 1. Two TVs and a podium 2. Conference call equipment 4

The parking fare is 2.5 RMB/15 min or 10 RMB/hr. 3. By subway Ticket vending machines are available at all stations, as are English instructions. Please take Subway Line 10 to Liangmaqiao Station and exit through Exit D. Walk west for 750 m/820 yd. How to Enter the Office 1. After arriving at Genesis Beijing, please go to the front desk located in the western part of the lobby. You need to show your ID or passport to obtain a single-use visitor pass. 2. After obtaining your visitor pass, please enter the gate to the left of the front desk. You may then take the th floor elevator on your right to get to the 17 th floor. 3. Take a left once you are on the 17 th floor. Walk towards the left end of hallway and our office will be on your right. 12

14 About Genesis Beijing Genesis Beijing is a new kind of urban development devoted to community, culture, and mental wellbeing. It is designed to be a new positive intervention in the future of cities. Cities are becoming harsh places to live, driven more and more by wages, high living costs, and separation from home. Genesis Beijing is designed to reset priorities, to help people explore their identity beyond making a living, and to recover the social and family ties that make us whole. Genesis Beijing is a social business project with large amounts of the profits re-directed into the cultural and educational aspects of the site. Its intention is to invite the city in and serve the community members, the neighborhood, and people across the city. The workspace is designed to be less closed, less isolating, and less static than the traditional office approach. It is designed to give people more space to think, more space to breathe, and more freedom to discover, learn, and explore. As part of the workplace experience, the building features an atrium, a canteen devoted to healthy eating, club facilities for extra meeting space, and WIFI coverage across the entire site. 13

15 GARDENS Designed by international landscape architecture firm ENEA, the gardens are core to the philosophy of mental well-being. They have a narrative of their own, drawing together colors and forms, exploring ying and yang, and creating a geometry with the river at the center. The Chinese pines, drawn from all over China, are living sculptures throughout the site. Within this setting is an outdoor amphitheatre hosting a cultural programme of music, theatre, and film a space to feed the mind and soul. HOTEL In September 2017, Genesis Beijing became the home of the first Bulgari Hotel in Beijing. MUSEUM In 2018, Genesis Beijing will be opening a new museum. It will be a place to discover as much about oneself as art and artists. It is a space to tap into and reveal one s own creativity. 14
