2 INTRODUCTION Events at BALTIC BALTIC Centre for Contemporary Art is located on the south banks of the River Tyne in the North East of England. The striking former flour mill in Gateshead now exhibits work by some of the world s leading contemporary artists and is one of the region s most recognisable landmarks. BALTIC is an extremely versatile venue, hosting everything from car launches, fashion shows, TV broadcasts and conferences to training workshops, academic seminars, high profile business dinners and networking evenings. Private parties are equally well catered for, with fantastic spaces for birthday celebrations, weddings and ceremonies of all sizes. BALTIC offers excellent restaurant and café facilities to event guests with the acclaimed Six and BALTIC Kitchen, operated by Fresh Element and also available for private hire. 4 BALTIC KITCHEN Situated on the ground floor, BALTIC Kitchen is ideal for networking events, evening meetings, intimate dinners and parties. Its contemporary design and light airy feel create a casual ambience perfectly suited to informal events. BALTIC Kitchen s private outdoor patio area overlooks Baltic Square and is perfect for summer barbecues. BALTIC Kitchen is available to hire from 19:00, operating as a public café by day. A 10% discount on food and drink is available to all event guests who wish to visit BALTIC Kitchen during the daytime. 6 ROOFTOP RESTAURANT Six is the elegant rooftop restaurant located on the top floor of BALTIC, offering stunning panoramic views across the Newcastle skyline. Opened in 2009, the style of food is British modern, featuring the very best locally sourced ingredients simply cooked and served in a relaxed and friendly setting. Six is available for private hire and comfortably accommodates breakfast meetings, large dinners and intimate private dining. On Saturday lunchtime, Six is exclusively available for private hire for weddings. Level 1 comprises a large event space, small cinema, two breakout rooms, dressing room, lobby and orientation space. With clean white walls, soft wood floors and an in-house AV studio, Level 1 is a blank canvas ready to be transformed into your bespoke event. This flexible space is suitable for many events including conferences, product launches, private parties, TV studio broadcasts and award ceremonies. Lighting Full conference lighting is required for Level 1 as there is no natural light in the room. All the necessary equipment is available to hire. Audio Visual Equipment Level 1 is fully equipped technically with audio, video and specialist lighting rig. You are welcome to provide your own equipment and set but it is a requirement that BALTIC s Technician be onsite for installation, event duration and de-rig. The Orientation Space, Cinema and Meeting Rooms can be hired independently of the main Level 1 Event Floor.

The white walls and soft wooden floors create a stylish space for informal receptions. 12 GETTING TO BALTIC Train BALTIC is a 20 minute walk or 10 minute taxi from Newcastle train station. Newcastle is approximately 3 hours from London and 1.5 hours from Edinburgh by train. Airport Newcastle Airport is located 9 miles from BALTIC, a journey of around 20 minutes by car or 25 minutes by Metro.
