We don t mind sharing our wonderfu Vaey with a few friends Enjoy the Backstone Vaey with a your senses. The music of waterfas and the ca of birds set the stage. Our new Nationa Park is the 402nd unit in the Nationa Park System and incudes the Backstone, the Backstone Cana and severa historic viages associated with the American Industria Revoution. You can get your Nationa Park Passport stamped at the new park office in the Woonsocket epot, One epot Square, Woonsocket, RI and at other ocations throughout the park. Look for the caendar of Ranger Programs, incuding Wakabouts in the viages and aong the river and cana in the Backstone Vaey. 4 ~ Backstone Heritage Corridor s GO! 205 ~ 5 Another great pace to visit is the Roger Wiiams Nationa Memoria at 282 North Main St. in Providence, RI. The Memoria commemorates the ife of the founder of Rhode Isand and a champion of the idea of reigious freedom. Wiiams, banished from Massachusetts for his beiefs, founded Providence in 636. This coony served as a refuge where a coud come to worship as their conscience dictated without interference from the state. Enjoy the exhibits, short fim and stro the grove on the 4.5 acre site.
