1 FLORIDA TRIP 2018 Day 1 (Mnday, April 2) 5:00am - Arrive at Piedmnt High Schl Band Rm Fllw signs fr luggage placement and medicine drp ff. Take instruments and unifrms t buses PARENT HELP lading equipment in strage cmpartments underneath the buses. 6:00am Leave fr Flrida, relax, and g back t sleep. Stp fr lunch (YOU BUY) at Savannah Mall. We will take bathrm breaks alng the way. 4:30pm Arrive at Disney Springs fr dinner 8:00pm Lad Buses, Check-in at htel Leave all band instruments and unifrms laded n bus. Lights Out - TBA Day 2 (Tuesday, April 3) Set yur alarm fr 6am r earlier. Breakfast at htel frm 6:30am INCLUDED (grab smething light yu can eat n the bus.fruit, dry cereal, etc). 6:50am Lad the Buses. G T Magic Kingdm (park pens at 8am) Spend the mrning in the Magic Kingdm. D NOT hp t anther park. All unifrms and instruments must be laded n the buses. Yu will need yur BLACK scks and shes. Leave them n the bus underneath yur seat s they will be waiting fr yu when we get backstage. 1:00pm Student Grups need t meet at the Glden Oak Outpst which is t the LEFT f Splash Muntain in Frntierland. Chapernes CANNOT g back stage. Chapernes can use this time t relax, ride rides, shp, etc. 2:30pm Parade perfrmance in the Magic Kingdm. The Pride f Piedmnt will be shwcased as the pre-parade perfrmance befre Disney Festival f Fantasy Parade. After the perfrmance (apprximately 3:30pm) chapernes need t wait at Pirates f the Caribbean. Students will meet them there frm the a backstage entrance t the LEFT f the ride entrance. Spend the day at Walt Disney Wrld (Hpper Pass). Hpper Pass is gd fr Magic Kingdm, Epct, Animal Kingdm, and Disney s Hllywd Studis. Chapernes will stay with grups f students Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday t ensure safety while hpping arund t the different parks, and s n ne gets lst. 2 LUNCH and DINNER DISNEY DINING CARD 8:00pm - All grups must be in the Magic Kingdm. 9:00pm - Happily Ever After Firewrks (watch frm Mainstreet). After the firewrks we will reprt back t the buses. It will be VERY VERY crwded trying t leave. clse. Be patient, take yur time, and keep everyne in yur grup T get t the bus, yu will need t take a ferry r mnrail back t the TTC (Transprtatin and Ticket Center). Here s a secret. Take the RESORT mnrail t the TTC. It will stp at the Cntemprary Resrt first, but just wait and the next stp is the TTC. The lines fr the resrt mnrail will be much shrter than the EXPRESS mnrail. Arrive back at Htel. Lights Out - TBA Day 3 (Wednesday, March 30) Breakfast at htel frm 6:30am t 7:15am INCLUDED 7:30am Lad bus. We will be drpped ff at EPCOT (park pens at 9am). Hwever, yu may g t any park after yu are in yur grup with yur chaperne. LUNCH and DINNER DISNEY DINING CARD 8:00pm Everyne needs t be in EPCOT. Watch IllumiNatins at the Wrld Shwcase Lagn at 9pm. After IllumiNatins is ver, as a grup, exit the park and walk t the buses. Mr. Lukac will let all chapernes knw the lcatin f the buses. Arrive back at Htel. Lights Out TBA Day 4 (Thursday, April 5) Breakfast at htel frm 6:30am t 7:00am INCLUDED 6:50am Lad the buses. WE HAVE TO LOAD THE BUSES EARLY!!!! Everyne will be drpped ff at ANIMAL KINGDOM (park pens at 8am). Hwever, yu may g t any park after yu are in yur grup with yur chaperne. LUNCH and DINNER DISNEY DINING CARD 8:00pm - EVERYONE needs t be at HOLLYWOOD STUDIOS. 8:30pm - Fantasmic!. Yu need t shw up an hur r mre befre the shw starts if yu want t watch the shw. I recmmend it. It s AWESOME!!! 9:15pm - Star Wars Firewrks We will all meet at the buses after the Star Wars Firewrks. Mr. Lukac will let all chapernes knw the lcatin f the buses. Bring sme mney fr dinner the first night. Disney Springs als has many ther restaurants t chse frm, but they are expensive and highly recmmend reservatins. THE FOLLOWING INFO CAN BE FOUND ON THE FREE DISNEY MAPS THAT ARE OFFERED AT THE MAIN ENTRANCE OF EACH PARK HELPFUL HINTS There is n way t experience everything yu want t see and d in this shrt amunt f time at Walt Disney Wrld, SO DON T TRY AND DO IT ALL!!!! As a grup, get tgether prir t leaving n the trip, and decide n a cuple f must-d s in each park. Stick t yur plan, but allw fr unexpected surprises alng the way. Pick grups n bigger than 8 peple. The larger the grup, the harder it is t d things and t make everyne happy. Smaller grups can hang ut tgether if they want, and then they will als have the ability t split ff int their smaller grups with their chapernes as well. DISNEY RULE. Dn t miss yur fastpass time. If yu are ne minute late, they will nt let yu n the ride with yur fastpass. Yu will have t wait in the stand-by line with everyne else. Windw shp. It s a great way t relax fr a bit. Each theme park has unique items that are fun t lk at and play with while cling ff in the air cnditining. Pace yurself. Unless yu are in Mr. Lukac s grup, yu will be able t g at yur wn pace. If yu are in his grup, yu will end up lsing 5 lbs just trying t keep up. When yu start t get tired and need a break, here are a few things yu 3

ANIMAL KINGDOM Festival f Lin King Nem: The Musical (gd nap time.. but cl music t) Maharajah Jungle Trek (in shade and g at yur wn pace) Pangani Frest Explratin Trail (grillas are here) WHAT TO TAKE INTO THE PARKS If yu want, yu can use yur carry-n bag as yur bag fr the parks. All guests can take a small size bag int the parks if they want. A backpack is HIGHLY recmmended simply fr the fact it frees up yur hands. Take nly what yu abslutely need. Whatever yu take in the mrning, will feel a lt heavier by the evening. 4

5 Suggested items (but nt limited t) are lightweight jacket fr cl mrnings and evenings, sunscreen, hat, bttle f water, flavred water packets (Flrida water tastes icky), dry snacks, and prtable cell phne charger. Disney will allw dry snacks frm hme, such as pretzels, cheez-its, energy bars, etc (think healthy and smething with carbs). This will help yu save sme mney t. Just remember that if yu take a bag int the park, yu will be respnsible fr everything the entire time. Yu will als have t carry yur bag n all rides as well. Almst all rides have different lading and unlading areas, s yu will have take keep yur bag with yu while n the ride, including water rides and rller casters. Yu may want t bring a cuple f Ziplck bags s yur wallet, phne, and camera wn t get wet when yu are n any water rides. It is NOT recmmended fr a bunch f peple t share ne bag, simply because f weight. Plus, if the bag is t big, it may becme a safety issue n sme rides. Taking a bag with yu int the parks is cmpletely yur decisin, but HIGHLY recmmended. Disney will search yur bag EVERY time yu pass thrugh the frnt entrance f a park. Be prepared. Disney als has metal detectrs nw and then may d a bdy scan if they wish. Dn t bring that culd get yu in truble. HOW TO GET FROM PARK TO PARK By Bus: Mst areas f Walt Disney Wrld Resrt are accessible by bus frm ther areas within the Resrt, including Theme Parks, Water Parks, the Disney Resrts and Disney Springs. Buses travel n rutes thrughut the Resrt and d nt prvide direct service between all destinatins. By Bat: The Disney ferrybats cnnect Magic Kingdm Park t the Transprtatin and Ticket Center (adjacent t Magic Kingdm parking). Yu can als take a Ferry Bat t and frm Epct and Hllywd Studis By Mnrail: Disney's mnrail runs between Magic Kingdm Park, Disney's Cntemprary Resrt, Disney's Grand Flridian Resrt & Spa, Disney's Plynesian Resrt and the Transprtatin and Ticket Center (adjacent t the Magic Kingdm parking lt). A cnnecting mnrail takes Guests frm the Transprtatin and Ticket Center t Epct, which means if yu are at the MK r Epct, yu can use the mnrail. FASTPASSES Each persn in yur grup (including yur chaperne) must have their wn accunt with Disney s My Disney Experience. It is free. Yu will need t dwnlad the app n yur smartphne. Designated smene in yur grup t the leader f the fastpasses. 5

6 Once everyne in yur grup has an active accunt, have yur leader fllw the instructins n the app and link all members f yur grup tgether (dn t frget yur chaperne). This will allw everyne in yur grup t have the same fastpasses each day f the trip. Nw that everyne is linked tgether, we will then need t assign and link ur tickets t each persn in the grup. We will d this ne day in class. Each persn will get 3 fastpasses t start with. These fastpasses can be picked 30 days in advance and can be changed as much as yu want until they are used, pending availability. Yu can pick anytime f the day fr these fastpasses. They are required t be n earlier than 1 hur apart frm each ther. If yu want t play the fastpass game, it is recmmended t pick yur riginal 3 fr late mrning r early afternn times. It is yur chice. The fastpass game is a game f risk. THE FASTPASS GAME The riginal 3 fastpasses can nly be used in 1 park f yur chice. After all 3 fastpasses have been used, pending availability, yur grup leader can nw get 1 mre fastpass t use in any park yu want. MAKE SURE YOU SELECT EVERYONE IN YOUR GROUP FOR THE EXTRA FASTPASSES. Each persn must have their wn fastpasses. The persn yu designate t pick yur fastpasses will need t duble check each time that everyne s name has a checkmark by it n their smartphne BEFORE selecting the next fastpass. When everyne scans in t use the 4th fastpass, yur leader can nw find anther fastpass, and s n. It all depends n availability. It is a game f risk. Yu may nt find the exact fastpass yu want. If yu dn t find ne yu want, refresh the app frequently n yur phne. If yu re lucky, yu can get what yu are lking fr. Magic Kingdm is the best place t play the game because there are mre rides with fastpass ptins. The mst Mr. Lukac has ever gtten was 14 fastpasses in ne day at the Magic Kingdm. The secret is t nt park hp with yur extra fastpasses, and then pick a fastpass that is clsest t the current time. 6
