Interoperability is achieved through the use of the actical ontrol ystem () software in the round ontrol tation () and through the use of the actical ommon ata ink (). he data from the Q-8 will be provided through standard o ommand, ontrol, ommunications, omputers and Intelligence urveillance, and econnaissance system architectures and protocols. he Q-8 system is comprised of air vehicles, electro-optical/infra-red/laser designator-range finder, utomated Identification ystem payloads, (with and integrated for interoperability), a ommon utomatic ecovery ystem () for automatic take-off and landings, and associated spares and support equipment. he Q-8 system will support urface Warfare, ine ountermeasures Warfare, and nti-ubmarine Warfare mission modules while operating onboard ittoral ombat hip (). he Q-8 is currently deployed on ships and may be deployed on alternate class of ships to support the pecial perations orces () mission. In support of the mission, aircraft were moved forward in the budget starting in 2012 and additional ship control stations will be procured for outfitting of the / and alternate class of ships such as the oint High peed essel. Q-8 will perform land-based operations in support of the I ask orce and rmy units. limited number of land-based ground control stations support shore based operations, such as predeployment or acceptance functional check flights. hese land based ground control stations will also support depot level maintenance/post-maintenance activities. ission training devices will be procured for predeployment and proficiency training, additional material will be procured for this effort. on-ecurring efforts to include iminishing anufacturing ources and aterial hortages (), evaluation and studies on aircraft and obsolescence and replacement, and ngineering hange roposals (s) focused on performance enhancements identified in the Quick eaction ssessment (Q). In addition, specialty payloads and communications equipment will be procured in support of I, I ask orce, shipboard requirements.
