Initial pares ($ in illions) , lyaway nit ost ($ in illions) ross/weapon ystem nit ost ($ in illions) escription: Q-9 eaper procurement includes all components of the Q-9 weapon system. he basic Q-9 eaper system consists of the aircraft, sensors, a round ontrol tation (), communications equipment, weapon kits, support equipment, simulator and training devices, eadiness pares ackages (), technical data/training, and personnel required to operate, maintain, and sustain the system. he system is designed to be modular and open-ended. ission-specific equipment is employed in a plug-and-play mission kit concept allowing specific aircraft and control station configurations to be tailored to fit mission needs. he Q-9 eaper aircraft is a single-engine, turbo-prop emotely iloted ircraft () designed to operate over-the-horizon at medium-to-high altitude for long endurance sorties. he aircraft is being designed primarily to prosecute critical emerging ime-ensitive-argets (s) as a radar, lectro-ptical/infra-ed (/I), and laser desginator-based attack asset with on-board hard-kill capability (hunter-killer) while performing Intelligence, urveillance, econnaissance and arget cquisition (I ). In the hunter-killer role, the aircraft will employ fused multi-spectral sensor information to find, fix, and track ground targets and assess post-strike results using utomatic arget ueing (), arget ocation ccuracy (), etric ensor and other capabilities. he functions as the aircraft cockpit and can control the aircraft from either within ine-of-ight () or eyond ine-of-ight () via a combination of satellite relay and terrestrial communication architectures. he is either mobile to support forward operating locations or fixed at a facility to support emote plit perations (). he has the capability to perform mission planning functions; provides a means for manual and/or autonomous command and control; allows personnel to launch, recover, and monitor aircraft, payloads, and system communications status; secure data links to receive payload sensor data and command links; monitor threats to the aircraft; display common operational picture information; and provide support functions. dditionally, a aunch and ecovery () allows for servicing, systems checks, maintaining, launching, and recovering aircraft under control for hand-off to a mobile or fixed. he will continue to evolve and upgrade its capabilities to keep pace with Q-9 system capabilities, oncept of perations (), and the missions they perform. ear-term upgrades include new IX processors, high definition monitors, and ergonomic improvements. uture planned upgrades include integrating improved human-machine interfaces, open systems architecture, improved crew habitability, and multiple aircraft control. uture configurations will leverage the nmanned erospace ystem () ommand and ontrol (2) Initiative (I) government-owned open system standard to enable improved capabilities for situational awareness and multi-mission management monitoring and oversight. lyaway cost subtotal includes round ontrol tations (), round ata erminals (s), and redator rimary atellite inks (s) which are not procured in the same quantities as aircraft. hus, the unit flyaway cost will fluctuate from year to year as different quantities of s, s, and s are procured. otal I 1 - Q-9 II ir orce age 1 of 16-1 ine #15 olume 1-159
