2 Aerodrome Briefi ng ard OT 09 yprus - LLK / 1. GEOGRAPHIAL DATA 1.1 The AD is situated on the SE coast of yprus, between two salt fl ats, practically at sea level. The terrain close to the AD is relatively fl at, but rises to just over 1300FT 7 NM to NW and to more than 2250FT within 10 NM to W. Further to the W the mountain reaches more than 5000FT within 25 NM and culminates with 6630FT Mount Troodos, 40 NM W of Larnaca. 1.2 Be aware of the restricted areas. 2. WEATHER 2.1 Mediterranean climate with sunny, dry and warm summers. The winters are very mild with short rains or squalls. Mean MAX/ temperatures /+20.9 and +16 /+7.5 in JUL/JAN respectively. 2.2 Summer. Sunny and hot. Warmest in JUL/AUG/SEP with temperatures of +30, cooled by the sea-breeze. Inland +35 to 40 not uncommon. Prevailing wind N/NW. Strong sea-breeze occuring. Slight to zero precipitation. At night deterioration of visibility due to mist, fog or low ST. Medio SEP and OT weather unsteady and cooler. 2.3 Winter. Frontal system from W. Linesqualls and thunderstorms occurs. W/ SW wind. NOISE ABATEMENT PROEDURE Use of reverse thrust during taxiing to and from the gate is prohibited at all times. 4. TAXI 4.1 Taxiway E is used for vacating runway only. 4.2 Aircraft exiting Taxiway E or Taxiway G for Apron 1 shall proceed via Taxiway and hold at the intermediate holding positions W1 or 6, unless otherwise instructed by Ground. 4.3 Aircraft exiting Taxiway H for Apron 1 shall proceed via Taxiway U and hold at intermediate holding positon L6, unless otherwise instructed by Ground. 4.4 Aircraft guidance to stands on Apron 2 provided by Follow Me. 4.5 On Apron 1 stands and 48A and all Apron 2 stands, marshaller guidance is provided. If not present contact Ground. 4.6 Stands on Apron 1 equipped with visual docking guidance system. Approach with max speed of 3kt. 4.7 ode E aircraft are not permitted to use Taxiways LA and V (unless for stand 81), or holds B, D and G. 5. START-UP 5.1 ontact Ground Engine start on stand not permitted on Apron LANDING RUNWAY Exit via Taxiway A or B unless instructed by AT. 6.2 Upon vacating runway via Taxiway A, aircraft shall contact Ground for taxi instructions. If unable, completely vacate runway and hold at 1 until communication with Ground is established. 6.3 Upon vacating runway via Taxiway B, aircraft shall contract Ground for taxi instructions. If unable, completely vacate runway and hold at B1 (code A, B,, D aircraft) and 2 (code E aircraft) until communication with Ground is established. 7. LANDING RUNWAY Exit via Taxiways E, G or H. 7.2 Upon vacating the runway aircraft shall contact Ground on for taxi instructions. If unable, completely vacate the runway and hold at W1, 6, 7, F1 or L6 until communication with Ground is established. 7.3 E and H are rapid exit taxiways on Runway 22. Aircraft shall not hold on the rapid exit taxiways. lclk05gaorg0 Navtech Pilots shall call for AT clearance at least 10 minutes prior to being fully ready for pushback or taxi.
