2 SEARCH AND RESCUE INFORMATION - WEEKLY PERIOD: 16 APR 18 TO 22 APR 18 DATE/TIME INCIDENT # 16 04: EMBC REGION INCIDENT ELT/ #VICTIMS # EMBC VOL LOCATED ALIVE DEAD NO COMMENTS SWE LAND Coquitlam SAR member and 1 Ridge Meadow SAR members responded to an RCMP request for a missing 77 year old female last seen near Central Park in Burnaby. The SAR was stood down with nothing found : : : : : : : : : *** NOTE: SAR# was skipped and will be reassigned and included in next week's report. NEA AIR ELT 2 2 PEP Air members responded to an ELT sounding on the field at the Prince George Airport. The ELT was located in a Cessna on the field, and PEP Air contacted JRCC with their findings. NWE LAND Terrace SAR member responded following a Spot Beacon activation near Iceberg Bay. The subject made contact by phone not long after and the SAR was stood down. SEA AIR ELT 5 5 PEP AIR members responded to locate an ELT sounding 30 miles east of Castlegar. The ELT was silenced by PEP AIR members. SWE LAND Coquitlam SAR member responded to an RCMP request for assistance in locating a sleepwalking 15 year old boy. The RCMP stood down the SAR team prior to subject being located. SEA INLAND Kimberley, Cranbrook and Columbia Valley SAR WATER members responded to locate and rescue 2 overdue boaters on Columbia Lake. The subjects were rescued in good condition after being adrift through the night. VIR LAND SAR members from Nanaimo, Ladysmith, Arrowsmith, Comox Valley, PEMO, Cowichan, Campbell River and Alberni Valley Rescue Squad responded to search for a missing autistic 14 year old teenager in Nanaimo who was last seen at Colliery Dam. The teen was located at a friend's house, and the SAR team was stood down. SEA LAND Golden SAR members responded to rescue an injured female with possible frost bite near Crystal Lake in the Golden area. The patient was rescued via helicopter and transferred to BCAS. SEA LAND Revelstoke SAR members responded following a snowmobile collision on Boulder Mountain, near Revelstoke. One subject was in critical condition and succumbed to their injuries. SWE LAND Squamish SAR members responded to a BCAS request for assistance with a injured motorcyclist off Garibaldi Park Road, near Squamish. The subject was pinned under the motorcycle, with minimal injuries. The subject was able to ride out under his own power after being rescued. CTL LAND Revelstoke SAR members responded to search for two missing snowmobilers in the Eagle Pass snowmobile area in the Sicamous District, between Sicamous and Revelstoke. The subjects were

3 22 12: : : : : : : : WEEK TOTAL YEAR TO DATE rescued and returned to safety. NWE LAND Houston and Bulkley Valley SAR members responded to rescue an injured snowmobiler in the Houston/Telkwa area. The patient was rescue by SAR, transported back to Smithers and transferred to BCAS. SEA LAND Revelstoke SAR members responded to rescue an injured snowmobiler outside of Revelstoke. The snowmobiler was rescued via helicopter and delivered to a waiting BCAS crew. SWE INLAND Chilliwack SAR members responded to rescue a WATER child in Cultus Lake. A passing boater picked up the child, and the SAR team was stood down. SWE LAND Pemberton SAR members responded to a spot beacon activation around the Callaghan Lake area. The subject was picked up via heli and flown back to base where they were transferred to BCAS. SEA LAND Revelstoke SAR members responded to search for a missing snow biker who was separated from his group near Revelstoke. The subject was extracted via heli CDFL and brought to safety. NEA LAND Central Cariboo and 13 South Cariboo SAR members responded to rescue the driver of a truck that went over a 200 foot cliff near Springfield Road. The deceased subject was brought up the cliff by SAR using ropes and was passed to the coroner. VIR LAND Comox Valley SAR members responded to search for two lost hikers near Comox Lake Campground. The hikers managed to make their own way out of the bush and SAR was stood down. SWE LAND Kent Harrison SAR members responded to rescue an injured quad rider from up the Clear Creek FSR outside of Agassiz. The SAR team was stood down while responding when the BCAS crew managed to access the patient ELT ELT - 2

On April 16, 2018, a task number was issued for a landslide along Zwicky Road out of Kaslo, in the Central Kootenay Regional District. On April 16, 2018, a task number was issued for flooding of Bloomer Creek near Castlegar, BC. On April 16, 2018, a task number was issued for freshet flooding in the East Kootenay Regional District. On April 17, 2018, the CTL PREOC requested an incident to be opened for culvert cleaning and debris removal for Ellis Creek in Penticton. On April 17, 2018, a task number was issued for flooding of Cooper Creek near Kaslo. On April 17, 2018 a task number was issued for freshet flooding in the Thompson- Nicola Regional District. On April 17, 2018, the RDOS requested an incident be created for flooding in Testalinden Creek, Oliver. On April 17, 2018, the RDOS requested an incident be created for flooding in Trout Lake, Twin Lakes. On April 17, 2018, the RDOS requested an incident be created for flooding on Saliken Drive, east of Penticton. On April 17, 2018, the RDOS requested an incident be created for flooding on Roads , in rural Oliver. On April 17, 2018, the RDOS requested an incident be created for flooding in Otter Lake, Tullameen. On April 17, 2018, the RDOS requested an incident be created for flooding at Farleigh Dam, Apex. On April 17, 2018, the RDOS requested an incident be created for flooding in the Similkameen River in Osoyoos. On April 17, 2018, the RDOS requested an incident be created for flooding in Similkameen River in Cawston. On April 17, 2018, the RDOS requested an incident be created for flooding in Taggart Lake, Twin Lakes. TASK

5 On April 18, 2018, FLNRO reported a substantial mudslide on Highway 3A, between Castlegar and Nelson. On April 18, 2018, a task number was issued to the SEA PREOC or freshet flooding in the region. On April 18, 2018, the KBRD requested an incident be created for flooding at Columbia Garden. On April 18, 2018, the RDOS requested an incident be created for flooding in Kearns Creek, St. Andrews. On April 18, 2018, the RDOS requested an incident be created for a landslide in Trout Creek, Faulder. On April 18, 2018, the city of Penticton requested an incident be opened to supply sand to the Penticton Indian Band. On April 18, 2018, a task number was issued for a landslide along Old Princeton Road and Merritt Highway. On April 19, 2018, a task number was issued for a landslide that occurred on Osoyoos Indian Band land. On April 20, 2018, an incident was opened in response to a potential dam failure on Minton Lake, east of Wildwood, near Williams Lake. On April 20, 2018, an incident was opened in response to flooding on the Nicola River, near the Nooiatch Indian Band, Merritt. On April 20, 2018, an incident was opened in response to flooding of properties and driveway washouts on Hawse Loop Drive, near Burns Lake. On April 20, 2018 an incident was opened due to a landslide that has impacted Inkaneep Creek above the Osoyoos Indian band. An evacuation order was given as the only access to The Cottages area was at risk to being cut off due to rising water. On April 21, 2018 an incident was opened when a potential dam breach in the Beaverley area of the Fraser Fort George Regional District was identified as having the potential to impact homes downstream and the Yellowhead Highway. On April 22, 2018 the town of Oliver opened an incident when the Parkryll Creek breached and began to flood overland, jeopardizing homes and roads nearby

6 TERRORISM On April 16, 2018, Bodwell High School in North Vancouver received a bomb/weapons threat. The school was evacuated. The school was an international school with some students boarding on site. There were 143 displaced students who were affected. One ESS staff member and 5 ESS volunteers responded and opened a warming center for those who were displaced.
