The hikers made it out on their own and were met by police at their car. SWE LAND Chilliwack SAR members responded to a BCAS request for assistance for a female feeling faint along the Lindeman Lake Trail. The SAR members walked her out and turned her over to BCAS for transport to hospital. SWE LAND North Shore Rescue members responded to a RCMP request to locate 2 missing hikers on St Marks near Cypress. The 2 missing hikers were flown out of the area via HETS in good condition. SWE Chilliwack SAR members responded to a BCAS request for assistance with an 80 year old male possibly trapped in the river near Mclaren Drive. The subject was picked up and turned over to BCAS. SEA LAND Kaslo SAR members responded to search for a missing male in the Cody Caves Provincial Park. The subject walked out by himself during the night. VIR LAND Alberni Valley Rescue Squad member responded to a BCAS request to assist with an injured logger on Mount Arrowsmith, near Port Alberni. The SAR team was stood down when the logger's company contracted a helicopter to fly him out CTL NEA 4 4 Kelowna Marine Rescue members responded to a RCMP request to investigate a drifting boat on Okanagan Lake. An 18' Bayliner was located and appeared to have broken away from its moorings. It was towed and re-secured at the yacht club Quesnel SAR members responded to search the Fraser River for a missing male. The search was concluded by the RCMP on October 8 after nothing was found. SWE LAND Chilliwack SAR members responded to search for 2 overdue hikers in the Chilliwack Lake area. The hikers walked out on their own and were met by SAR members. SEA LAND Nelson SAR members responded to rescue an injured 15 year old hiker near the Kokanee Glacier Cabins in Nelson. The subject was airlifted out and turned over to BCAS. SWE LAND Chilliwack SAR members responded to search for two missing dirt bikers at Liunchen Creek. The dirt bikers managed to self rescue and SAR was stood down. SWE LAND Chilliwack SAR members responded to search for a missing 77 year old who wandered away from the 'Rescue Mission'. After searching the popular and likely locations, the SAR team was stood down with negative results pending further investigation

3 09 00: : : : : : : : : : : : : by the RCMP. NEA LAND Fort Nelson SAR member responded to assist an injured male near the Chukachida River, north of Fort Ware. SAR was stood down when the subject and friend made their way to the hospital without any assistance. CTL LAND Penticton and 6 Princeton/Keremeos SAR members responded to rescue an injured hunter in the Ashnola area near Keremeos. SAR members carried the subject to an air ambulance for transport to the hospital. SEA AIR ELT 3 3 PEP Air members responded to assist JRCC with locating an ELT that was sounding around the Castlegar/Nelson area. The ELT was located and silenced. VIR AIR ELT 4 4 PEP Air members responded to assist JRCC with locating an ELT that was sounding at Nanaimo Airport. The ELT was located and silenced. NEA LAND Prince George SAR members responded to search for a missing person in the Forests for the World Provincial Park in Prince George. The subject was located suffering mild hypothermia and was taken to the hospital for treatment. SWE LAND Squamish SAR members responded to search for an overdue hunter who failed to return home from hunting in the Squamish Valley. The subject was picked up by a passing motorist and was dropped off at the RCMP office. VIR LAND Juan de Fuca SAR and 5 Metchosin SAR members responded to rescue an injured hiker on Mystic Beach. SAR members carried the subject out and transferred them to BCAS. SWE LAND North Shore Rescue members responded to rescue a female who has sustained a head injury and was suffering breathing issues on Goat mountain. The subject brought out and passed to BCAS. NWE LAND Bulkley Valley SAR members responded to search for a female who hiked to Crater Lake/Hudson Bay Mountain area, became disoriented due to fog and weather conditions, and was unable to find the trail head to get back down. The subject was found in good shape and was escorted out by SAR. SWE North Shore Rescue members responded to a District Fire response request for an overturned kayaker that did not resurface on the Seymour River. SAR was stood down when the subject was located alive. SWE LAND Mission SAR members responded to help search for an 80 yr old with Parkinson's who went missing in the Mission District. The SAR is ongoing. SEA Nelson SAR member responded to rescue a male with a head injury from a boating accident in Queens Bay. SAR was stood down after subject was located on shore with injuries. CTL LAND Princeton SAR members responded following an incident involving a side-by-side vehicle that

4 04 22: UPDATE WEEK TOTAL YEAR TO DATE crashed with 2 occupants in Coalmont. One of the subjects suffered a head injury but walked out to an area where BCAS could pick them up. NWE LAND Terrace SAR members responded to search for a missing mine worker that was collecting water samples at the Kitsalt Mine near New Aiyansh. The subject was located deceased, was brought out and transferred to the Coroner ELT ELT - 19

5 WEEKLY INCIDENT REPORT Oct 2015 DANGEROUS GOODS On 07 Oct 15, Coast Guard Environmental Response responded to reports of a sailing vessel that sank in the Annacis Channel approximately 1 km upstream from the Shelter Island Marina in Richmond. The Ministry of Environment Response Officer (MOE RO) raised the incident to Code 2 (urgent status) due to the potential pollution and heightened media attention. On 08 Oct 15, a concerned citizen reported that there was a small pleasure craft on the rocks surrounded by an oil sheen on the north arm of the Fraser River near 2020 East Kent Avenue South in Vancouver. The MOE RO raised the incident to Code 2 (urgent status) due to the potential pollution and heightened media attention. Coast Guard Environmental Response responded to investigate and reported minimal pollution was found and incident was downgraded to Code 1. On 10 Oct 15, Ladysmith Fire Department responded to the Frank Jameson Community Centre when a chlorine leak resulted in an evacuation and closure of the facility. The MOE RO raised the incident to Code 2 (urgent status) while the site was secured and the chlorine tanks were attended to. Quantum Murray Environmental Services was contracted from the lower mainland to remove the leaking chlorine tanks. The incident was downgraded once the tanks had been successfully removed and the facility was safe to reopen to the public. On 11 Oct 15, a vessel went aground on Shell Beach in Fulford Harbour (Saltspring), The MOE RO raised the incident to a Code 2 (urgent status) due to the potential for pollution and heightened media attention. The incident was downgraded after it was reported that the vessel was high and dry and not polluting. On 11 Oct 15, 2500 liters of diesel entered Hardy Bay, west of Masterman Islands from a punctured diesel tank on a vessel. The MOE RO raised the incident to a Code 2 (urgent status) due to the potential pollution. BODY RECOVERY On 10 Oct 15, Salt Spring Island SAR were called out to recover a body for the RCMP and the Coroner. On 11 Oct 15, Arrow Lakes SAR were called out to recover a body for the RCMP and BC Coroners Service. FLOODING On 06 Oct, the City of Maple Ridge advised that they were monitoring log jams that had accumulated on the Allouette River between 224th Street and 136th Ave, which could posed a potential risk of flooding for nearby residents and public infrastructure if the river was to rise from rains. No task has been issued at this time

6 On 10 Oct 15, a concerned citizen reported to DFO that there was major flooding occurring in Coquitlam at the Woodland Trailer Park and the cause was creek that had become blocked with debris. A representative from Ministry of Forests Lands and Natural Resource Operations (FLNRO) and the local Emergency Program Coordinator for Coquitlam responded and assessed the scene.
